    Great discussion Scott...Things we learn along on the journey Good thoughts and words. I always say life is about 90% of life and trying to make the right choices. But we always will stumble and need to get back up. It would be so helpful for you g people entering this crazy world to hear your advice.....or be taught to them.. Thanks for all you and Heather do...

    Great talk. Fireside chats with Scott…
    I have always struggled with wants vs needs. When you stand back, most of the time we find what we want is truly not a need. After my parents past away, my sister and I didn’t really save much of what was in their home, just a few special things and some items that fit a need. All the rest was donated or dumped. Now that I’m older, I look around our home and I as my wife, do we really need all this stuff… will our children have a need or even a want for most of it… the answer in many cases is no. Can we take it with us when it’s our time.. no…
    On the topic of Honor and Integrity, I believe we all need to be better humans and learn to get along and help humanity obtain what it needs. I watch way too many sci-fi movies and I always say, could you imagine that if the world, humanity, all worked together to better each other, what advancements could be achieved to better all… but could it be some power in space is causing all this strife and turmoil because they fear what humanity could achieve… ok sci-fi movies aside, we all just need to learn to be better and good humans. What do we need vs just want? Are our needs aligned with betting ourselves and the people around us? What goals, achievements, or footprint do want to leave in the hearts and minds of those we have left behind when we must leave this realm… are we moving towards this and fulfilling needs or crowding our lives with useless wants…
    I “need”… ok… “want” an cup of coffee…

      Agreed on many levels, Richard. I wrote an article a few months ago about legacy and what I learned about living in New Mexico after the evacuation. Good read if you haven't read it. Thanks for the thoughtful comment.

    You can't have everything you want !!! Than is not a real possibility. It's all of who you know . You have to have someone with money help promote you to were you want to go. Money is the only thing that can make your dream and desires come true! These days are different than long ago!

    • @donwarner6925
      @donwarner6925 Год назад +2

      You are completely missing the point. Money will never be the key to happiness.

    • @4XPEDITION
      @4XPEDITION  Год назад +1

      So, then, James, what you want is someone with money who will help promote in the direction you want to go. Then start there. Set goals to connect with those kinds of people. Then figure out how to position yourself for that role. I can't imagine how many people have told Elon Musk there is no way he will ever establish a civilization on Mars. But, he persists in his efforts and, if necessary, may one day hand the baton to a successor in the pursuit of that dream. I don't disagree that who you know is a powerful door-opener. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, James.

      @@donwarner6925 Yes. this conversation isn't about money. I only used cars and such as examples of what someone may want. Integrity and Honor are the foundations of all happiness.

      @@donwarner6925 but you are wrong about that ! Money make your life easier! You work every day to pay your expenses in life ! So in return you are happy! Makes sense right ? I hate that old adage " money doesn't buy you happiness " it most certainly does! It allows you to try different things just ask Scott. I was a millionaire once. Hard to get there agin.

    Hello Scott,
    Wonderful conversation and very thought provoking. I really appreciate the time and effort you put into these videos…
    As I’ve grown older I have less and less desire for “stuff”. When I’m considering a purchase I tend to think about the plusses and minuses. My parents always said with any big purchase they’d sit on it overnight and see how it felt in the morning…
    My wife and I have a house full of things, many of which we don’t use and may not even know what they are for. I’m slowly weeding out the useless and excessive…
    “Have nothing in your houses that you do not know to be useful or believe
    to be beautiful."
    William Morris
    1834-1896
    I’m envious of yours and Heather’s current situation, you own your property which is a huge burden off your shoulders. This alone gives you the one thing that is irreplaceable, TIME, we just can’t buy more of it…
    I’ve made my share of mistakes in my life, some of which I’m still paying for. But I’ve also learned from all of these mistakes and tried to not repeat them again. I’ve also slowed down, become more reflective than reactive…
    Thank you again for producing these types of videos.
    BTW, what type of camera were you wielding out in the field?

    • @4XPEDITION
      @4XPEDITION  Год назад +1

      Hi there Hugh. Thanks for the reflection on this one. And, I really liked the quote from W. Morris. Complete truth in the factor of time. In fact, I wrote an article about TIME you can read here, assuming you have a LinkedIN account: www.linkedin.com/pulse/first-impression-value-your-customers-time-how-shape-scott-leuthold/ You might like to read it.
      The camera I was shooting with is a Sony NEX7. I am considering getting a new Sony FX30 in the not-so-distant future...as I mentioned I may start bringing zoom lense digital back into my videos.
      Hope all is well, sir!
