Appreciate the kind words and genuine thoughts. I am trying to find the sweet spot of good info, not wasting time and being entertaining enough lol...If you’re interested I have an email list that I send out some promos and inside info on. You can find it here: nicksfort.com/shop
Nick is the man! You're my dream client, one day I'm gonna b-cam for you! Here's my question: do you ever have an editing rate? Or do you always quote for jobs that require editing? If you do have a rate, how does it compare to your day rate (my hourly editing rate is equal to about 1/9 of my day rate). If you don't have a rate and always quote on gigs needing edits, do you hire editors? If so, where'd you find them?
Thanks Eric for the kind words :) And thank you for leaving a thoughtful question. I look forward to answering it in the next episode. In the mean time if you haven't you should check out my pricing video: ruclips.net/video/dzk4e1230kM/видео.html
How do I get good at my craft when I only do paid work? Basically if Im not doing client work, what do I do to increase my skills as far as shooting and editing when I have nothing to shoot and edit? Hopefully that makes sense.
Are you saying that you don't have any passion projects that you want to work on? That you only have client work but no other ideas outside of client work that you want to make for fun?
Wait till I make one LOL...seriously though I am working on an intro to freelancing course. If you sign up for my email list you will be the first to see it: www.NicksFort.com/shop Also I would watch my freelancing playlist (ruclips.net/p/PLBUyRY_6jX29Bc0WLWdMO3WD3-BmyF_NR) and if you absolutely can't wait then you could do a one-on-one coaching call with me (also in the link above).
How much of your freelance work did you get from people who weren’t actively recruiting for your skills? How many jobs did you get from convincing a client that they needed what you had? Does that make sense?

Hello Nick, I'm new to freelancing and I already try my changes and I got upset, there is a lot of competition. So if you can give me some good freelancers sites ?? because I found it extremly hard especially to get started on Freelancer.com or Upwork.com
Freelancing will be hard. There will be competition. Those things won't go away. BUT I also don't think that the websites you mentioned are of any great benefit to freelancers. The often seem to be a race to the bottom. I am planning on launching a freelancing course and potential membership soon. If you want to stay up to date on when these resources are coming out sign up for my email list www.nicksfort.com/shop also did you watch my other freelancing videos ==> ruclips.net/p/PLBUyRY_6jX29Bc0WLWdMO3WD3-BmyF_NR
@@marshal523 I really have never tried a third party freelance website and I also don't really think they are worth the time from what I can see and what people say about them. I would suggest moving away from them especially if it's not working
Really enjoy your channel! It’s fun to find another creator doing such different things.
Dude that's so rad that you have a channel about flying your plane! I didn't watch much but what a rad hobby (assuming it's a hobby?)
This was pretty darn motivational, and highly informative. I appreciate the perspective. Lots of good stuff in here.
Thank you ✌️
right on Tom! Glad you enjoyed it and hope it helps you on your journey
Great video, thank you
Glad you liked it!
Thanks for the mention, buddy! You NEARLY got my last name right :)
Gah! It's embarrassing but I basically can't pronounce anyone's name so :)
I am so glad I found your channel. Thank you for all the great information.
You are so welcome!
Just what the doctor ordered! Thanks man. I`m about to check few more videos of yours...)
Right on! Glad you are enjoying :) Leave some comments on the other videos that you like the best :)
Great stuff, just found your channel, so far love it !
Right on Mino! Glad to have you and hope you find the content I've made already useful. Don't be shy to ask questions either!
I dig how real your stuff is, not wasting my time, getting to the point. But most of all real. I don't want to hear cliched mumbo jumbo.

The content all makes sense, BUT... creative video is also about the aesthetic, and I really think your dirty mic foam detracts from that.
LOL well this is basically a Podcast, not really an example of my creative visual aesthetic but super true, should have plucked those hairs off my mic
Oooooo that title :)
It's a complicated topic lol...but let me know what questions you have for me after you listen!
