I tried this bike recently and I felt and confirmed exactly what you said. Great review! I would add that this bike will help you to stay on the safe side of motorcycling while still enjoying it.
Great video!, in my experience, the rider input is what matters the most, if Valentino Rossi rides that bike, he would smoke a lot of jixxers, If my grandmother rides it, she will go slow and easy, the bike is a tool after all, you can push it to the limit or let it relax, but yes, this bike screams relaxing on twisty roads and around the city. If i buy it, I would use it to commute, a little bit of off-roading, and highways. Because I´m like that. Unorthodox and happy:)
Good video, the W800 has got a very pleasant exhaust tone even with stock pipes (even better on exceleration). I would almost buy it for the excellent design of the headlight alone! Interesting looking bike, quite handsome
If you buy one you will absolutely love it. I bought one and my experience is the same as what has been said in this great review. It will exceed your expectations.
When I sat on the bike in the show room everything felt exactly right for my 5'9 height. Kawasaki is offering a third W800 model with mid height bars (between Street model height and Cafe racer height). It has chrome fenders, unpainted engine, white piping on the seat and shiny metallic paint on the tank and side covers (red in some countries, green in others, I believe.) It also has a 19 inch front wheel rather than the 18 inch found on the Street and Cafe versions. What this excellent reviewer says, is my experience also with exactly the same model of bike he is testing. Also reflecting my experience is an excellent video by Dino's Vault. I found the W800 faster and smoother than I was anticipating. As you can tell, I'm a proud owner of this excellent and fun machine and highly recommend it.
Doug Fielding I’m falling in love with this machine. I own a new Z900 but want this classic bike as my second bike. Thank you for pointing out the wheel size differences. I prefer the 19” front. Cheers BB 🍻
That particular bike is the Street version without much chrome and higher handle bars. The Standard version, which I have, has lower handlebars and a lot of chrome. I installed 20mm bar risers and it made it more comfortable. Mechanically they are the same. They also made a Cafe version with clubman bars and and a small faring as well as a smaller front wheel. Not my cup of tea. My bike is a 2022 so it has a red tank and black side covers like the 1969 Bonneville. I like it a lot. They are very easy and forgiving to drive and have enough power for proper road use. They are not race bikes however.
@@guysmith3146 how does it rides ? Does it has that conventional britisher cruiser feel or it more like Japanese powerhaus . I mean is it quick off the line or has a subtle ride and great balancing. I am considering buying since bobby is out of reach foe now
Hey, thanks for this amazing review! May I ask where the presenter in this video is from? What accent is that?! Is it Hungarian? It’s such an amazing accent! Thanks in advance, from your voice actor friend in Canada, -Alex :-)
I love the new taller handlebars but sorry they chose to let go of the center stand. Older drum rear brake was more authentic! Thank you for a wonderful review 🙏🙏
To wish this bike had more power tells me you haven't ridden it. It's a lot faster than I thought it would be. It definately outperforms what the spec sheets may have you believe, mostly because of the torquey engine.
You're right....I haven't ridden it. However...I do ride a bike with considerably more HP and torque and I've gotten used to that kind of performance. While the W800 is undoubtedly a wonderful bike...I just wish the performance numbers were better....
today pro - Very different features, the W800 has 360 degree crank with counter balancer, simple air cooling, bevel drive top end and a long stroke engine. The T100 Bonneville is water cooled, 270 degree crank giving it a different feel and sound, chain driven top end and a short stroke engine. Similar looks but some very different features and personality. I liked the bevel driven cams, sound, feel and soul of the W800 better so I bought it and really love it.
Thank you OnroadDotBike - Thank you for your meaning about we have to go back to basis - And this is one of the models I mean is a great fine model - I myself drive the the 1999 w 650 it is a God gifts for fine driving every day and fine on touring too. Let us get back to basic in driving motorcycle - And I am glad that more and more motorcyclefabrics look at the back to basic idea. Greetings from Norway!!
Only one mistake on an otherwise beautiful bike: that UGLY/AWKWARD rear disc brake! They should have had a look at the new Triumph Bonnevilles: the rear disc caliper and associated hoses are tucked in behind the frame, and all you see is the disc itself. As it is I prefer the old W800/650 drum brake in the rear - at least so far as looks go.
@@nickspacey4652 This bike (the Street) is carried over unchanged for 2020 along with the Cafe. The bike you are referring to is the Classic. Available in Red in some countries, green in others. In North America it is offered in red. The Classic is prettier but the Street has more attitude and looks tougher. Both are handsome machines.
Kirk Knighton - Yes, they could have mounted the caliper under the swingarm. I don't mind seeing the caliper mind you. I looked at it closely on my W800 and noticed that to mount the caliper under the swing arm they would have to widen the splay of the exhaust pipe significantly to have a caliper clear it in it's travel. This makes the peashooters more tucked in and rounded (rather than indented).
Beautiful retro style motorcycle, absolutely love it!
I love this bike. It's beautiful. Thanks for a great, very helpful review.
Absolutely first class review of W800 Street.
I tried this bike recently and I felt and confirmed exactly what you said. Great review! I would add that this bike will help you to stay on the safe side of motorcycling while still enjoying it.
Outstanding review! You have captured all the subtleties of the machine!
I bought that bike last year I love it because of the retro look. Its a head turner bike I get a lot of attention riding this bike.
Love the story behind the W series . I just bought my 2020 800W . 11/4/2020 . And love it !
Dear Sir, I love the way you speak and review each part of the bike. Great review 😊
Nice history of the motorcycle!
The Kawasaki W800 looks great! And this was a good review! :-)

So many bikes, so little time!
Amazing bike

Lovely accent
I’ve seen a few w800 and love the classic look would like that to be my next bike
James: If you buy one you will love it. Great bike to ride, great bike to listen to, great bike to look at.
Awesome machine
I see Kawasaki have fitted the high bars again.

Nice review but did take a long time to get to the punch line. But he did a great job.
Nice review as always, how does the w800 compare to the z900rs?
Hello! What your height? Are your legs tired?
I believe in a previous video he said he was 6ft 3in tall, I,m also 6ft 3in tall and ride a W650, no problems on 200 mile days.

Fantastic review!
Hello, great review! I was wondering if these W800s are built in Japan?
Jim Free - This is one of the few Japanese bikes made in Japan. Very high quality fit and finish.

I like your reviews..

Older drum rear brake was more authentic!
Thank you for a wonderful review 🙏🙏
Yeah, I'm torn between the two. Drum brakes is authentic but the disc brake works so much better.
Blazin Blades - You were saying you like the 19" front wheel. That model of W800 (the Classic) comes with a centre stand.
I believe the sound was much better in the older versions
Excellent review. Can you do a review sometime on moto Guzzi
Enjoyed
Awesome review 👍 bro
Great review
Thanks for the review. What is the unit on the downtubes, in front of the exhaust ports? Emissions? Can it be safely removed 😁
ABS module
Is this bike suitable for short people? I'm only 165 cm.
The older model W800 was so much prettier
Richard - Given your preference you will love the looks of the Classic model.
very nice review

Well, the answer is easy. Two bikes. One that looks awesome and riding for the pleasure and appreciation of the ride. And one for the power.
Which one is better Kawasaki w800 or Triumph bonvellie?

Please could you tell me your height.
Does anyone do a screen for this yet?

If you mount the caliper under the swing arm, road crud gets into the brake easily.
