At first I was a little surprised but when I look the ZT3 speeds compared to the Max G2 it was climbing 3-4mph even on the standard stretches that weren't terribly steep. Shorter overall distance but at faster speeds, at least uphill. I think you went slower on the downhills because of the regen. Great test! I think the trick to getting this one through the full course is Drive mode at 15-16mph.
Tom,I just bought the Segway es 3 pro.is that a good scooter.i needed something light that would not break the bank.i think I made the right 👍 choice 😊
RUclips changed the format of the message section and I’m missing so many comments lol. Looks like a nice portable scooter. As long as it meets your needs, that’s all that matters 😊. I personally like smaller, portable scooters as well. There’s a company (Arma) making a sub 10lb scooter now. It’s still in development. Obviously won’t have the same capabilities of slightly larger scooters but it’s super portable.
Great hill climb test as usual. 🏆. The Apollo city pro also clunks a little bit. Will you take that on a hill test???😊. I think it'll make it up to the top. Thank you.
Another great video mate. Just watched it. Going to watch it again love the country side. Its coming into summer here in Australia its getting hot. Keep up the good work and stay safe.
Thank you! The clouds made for beautiful lighting that day. It’s always nice getting away from the city. Hopefully your summer isn’t too crazy in Australia. Here in Arizona, this last summer was brutal. I’m so happy it’s cooling down now haha.
Hey Tom just wanted to let you know i got my screen dash replacement for my ZT3 Pro today. They sent me the whole thing not just the display under the cover it came as the whole piece just like you order on the website.
Nice! That’s awesome. I still have to reach out. It’s great to hear they have spare parts available from the start. Sometimes companies launch new scooters with minimal to no parts availability. I remember when the Max G2 came out it took months for parts to become available.
Hey! Sorry for the delay. I’ve been battling a cold and haven’t been as active the last few days. This is a tough one. If I can only have one scooter, I’d go with the Apollo GO for the following reasons: -Light -Dual motor -Decent top speed & strong acceleration -Very good visibility at night -The company is transparent with their build/design process and offers modular upgrades for previous versions of their scooter lines.
It was a really great review on this scooter. I may get one just for the size of it. My question is about the tires. It is more of an off road vehicle. The off road tires, does the nobby tires make it less traction on smoother roads. I cruise streets. Flatland. Mostly pavement. I like carving and going into curves and cornering at higher speeds. Would I lose traction with nobby off-road tires compared to road tires? Thanks for all of your great product reviews.
Hey! Thank you! Sorry for the delay. I’ve been battling whatever cold is going around and trying dearly to not lose my voice haha. The tires are good for streets and pavement as they aren’t your typical loud knobby tires. They are more of an all-terrain tire.
@tomsgadgetgarage you should definitely get one I need one really bad for isinwheel s9max scooter cause I wanna ride to target the next Town over and back home
Thank you! I use a Garmin watch (945 LTE) that I used for my marathon running days. You can also use the Relive app and record rides using your phone’s GPS.
I have the Segway GT2 and the Ninebot max g2. I would love to see you test the GT2. It's a fun scooter. I think it would make quick work of that mountain, but I weigh less than 140 lbs. If I lived out there I would loan it to you.
Hello! Are you referring to top speed? If so, the US version comes with speed unlocked. In Europe, there are speed restrictions which prevent you from going 40km/h.
Hello Tom,Apollo City Pro arrived today 11/7/24 …Riding it is like riding in a Bentley Rolls-Royce 😂 The best spring suspension I’ve ever seen, climbs hills like I’m not on it and on flat ground I’m getting 34 mph Google GPS and I weigh 208lbs…Maybe Apollo made a mistake on the calibration of speed 😂
Yah it was able to power through some of the areas the G2 slowed down quite a bit on. But the G2 still has the better suspension. I rode the G2 around a bit today and was like, wow, this is so smooth.
@@tomsgadgetgarage It's actually not backwards lmao, ex: -1400 watts from the battery when accelerating and going up hills and +300 watts ect into the battery when you regen.
Well, for the Ninebot Max G2 it shows negative watts when regen is active and positive watts when accelerating. I did more reading. Here’s the Wikipedia explanation: Since electric power can flow either into or out of a component, a convention is needed for which direction represents positive power flow. Electric power flowing out of a circuit into a component is arbitrarily defined to have a positive sign, while power flowing into a circuit from a component is defined to have a negative sign. Thus passive components have positive power consumption, while power sources have negative power consumption. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electric_power
No really, if they won't introduce ZT3 Pro Plus Max or so with battery 1000Wh - this is just failed product. Real range in forest - 20Km, thats just pity, my average range during rides in the forest is 50Km!
Great review! Looking forward to the hill test as I need to climb almost 18% up. And this seems to be a good budget option!
Thank you! I’m going to try for this weekend :). It’ll be a 23% grade. If it doesn’t make it, I’ll measure the grade of the parts it can make it up.

After all the scooters you ve owned and riden if you could only own one scooter which one would it be?

Tom you should buy a portable power station with a ac outlet on it and a solar panel
A spare battery would be better.😊.Well,it depends on the weight between the 2 ideas.
10 minutes to change it.😂
i wonder if the sub $300 ones charge well
Haha! I was actually thinking about the power station they include with the scooter in that bundle they are offering 😂.
Thats too much weight to carry, and if you do you have to wait quite a while before it charges significantly.
@tomsgadgetgarage you should definitely get one I need one really bad for isinwheel s9max scooter cause I wanna ride to target the next Town over and back home
Great review !
Great video!
Thank you!
Really nice camera!
Thank you! There was great lighting that morning, thanks to the clouds :).
Appreciate the video and that great scenery. Is there any chance you can share the garmin app you use?
Thank you! I use a Garmin watch (945 LTE) that I used for my marathon running days. You can also use the Relive app and record rides using your phone’s GPS.
Thanks for silent Sunday heads up
Anytime! Yah most Sundays it’s from 5am - 10am. The 4th Sunday of each month the road is closed to automobiles the entire day.
@ good to know!

Yah man the GT2 looks like such a nice scooter. South Mountain would likely be a cakewalk for it.
Hello I'm french and I have a question : did you unbridle your scooter and if yes, how ?
Hello! Are you referring to top speed? If so, the US version comes with speed unlocked. In Europe, there are speed restrictions which prevent you from going 40km/h.
hola entre el zt3 y el xiaomi 4 ultra cual recomiendas ? cual tiene mejor suspension?

Nice! Great to hear about the suspension and speed haha. That’s awesome.
Thanks for video excellent.like 13 new supscriptor livin Barcelona Spain
quelle est la meilleur trottinette entre la ninenot zt3pro et la G2 max e
Do you have any recommendations for something that checks tire pressure and can fill it up?
Also, does the cruise control work yet?
So the ZT3 is beating out the G2 max nice
Yah it was able to power through some of the areas the G2 slowed down quite a bit on. But the G2 still has the better suspension. I rode the G2 around a bit today and was like, wow, this is so smooth.
@tomsgadgetgarage wow that shocking to hear literally I would have thought ZT3 would have been better
Regarding GT2, yea, I'm the user and it just broke fork after 3000km... and battery is just sick joke.. real range is 50km.
Just google: "Segway GT2 Broken fork/stem after 3000km" and also "[5 CASES] Segway GT2 Stem Design Failures"
Thanks for the heads up. I did see a post on Reddit about reports of broken stems.
That's weird that the wattage in the app is backwards, it's definitely not supposed to do that lol
Thanks for confirming haha. It’s been like that since my range test video and I was slowly starting to think maybe I’m crazy 🤣

Yah I’d be surprised if they didn’t offer a larger battery variant, or possibly something with dual motors.
