      Yes I did, I like this kayak for the price when I bought it, it was still under 1500.00 I got mine for around 1500 including tax. There are a few negatives like the seat being to low and your knees almost hitting your chest, I been thinking of getting my friend to 3d print some risers. I don't mind that it doesn't have hatches because that means less risk of getting water in the kayak but the downfall is you can't get inside for rigging. I like that idea of the side box, where did you get it and did you screw the base in. Thanks

      @@fruiz1204 The bases for the removable storage are just two plastic corner pieces with 3M double sided tape to stick them to the kayak . The container is a cheap book divider from Wal-Mart with mini bungees holding it onto the corners.

    How did u secure the storage caddy to your kayak

    • @americanvarietyoutdoors
      @americanvarietyoutdoors  6 месяцев назад +2

      I used 3M double sided tape for the base and then small bungees to make the storage removable

    The only thing I disagree with is the stability, I’m 6’5” tall, 235lb’s 60 years old and not the man I used to be balance wise and pushing my feet to the walls of mine I find it extremely stable for casting and standing unassisted. Other than that you are RIGHT on the money with your review. I love mine and it’s my 3rd kayak and last.

      Im planning to buy this kayak, anything you dont like about it? I heard him a few times when he mention not stable enough but all the reviews I looked at say it is very stable hard to tip over. I like casting standing up in a kayak. and I love the price. I already have two inflatables but Im very interested in gettirng a hard shell one.

      @@joraanma26 I’ve had it for a year and some change now stability is good I’m around 190 with another 20 pounds of gear depending on what I take. I stand and sit on the kayak a lot most of my cast is standing going forward and back a couple steps. Also fought some carp and bass standing stability is more than enough I believe one thing about is is the rudder system cables are easy to break if your really hard on it. Broke two so far but also could just be me being agresssive on it also the handle moving left and right seat gets in the way in certain positions would recommend getting a raised seat

      I have this kayak none pedal version and it’s nice. I’ve stood twice now and it’s seems fairly stable although my legs are not yet! It however otherwise is very stable kayak. I am a shorter fat boy! Currently 272 lbs and 5.8/5.9 on a good day lol. Big belly and I feel very comfortable on it and stable I’m seated position. I will agree that in the high seat position it’s fairly low and fairly hard for a fat boy to get stood up and sat back down but Deff can still be done. Other than those two items I’m stupid happy with it! It paddles very nice and take very little effort. For the price you can get the paddle versions for it’s hard not to pass them up! I gave $650 for mine brand new.

    What container did you use for the cup holder and catch all. Awesome video

    • @americanvarietyoutdoors
      @americanvarietyoutdoors  Год назад +1

      The container is a book holder I got at Walmart for $2 and the cup holder I think I scavenged from my kids old car seat, but I think you could repurpose about any cupholder to work in the container.

    I am very interested in the seat hack, the S hook. How did you do that?

    • @americanvarietyoutdoors
      @americanvarietyoutdoors  Год назад

      I bought a non structural S-hook at the hardware store and bent it to close off one end to tie the seat strap to. Then I clip the open end of the S-hook to the bar on the floor of the kayak that the strap used to thread through.

    What cart would you recommend for this kayak?

    • @americanvarietyoutdoors
      @americanvarietyoutdoors  Год назад +1

      Any cart that has adjustable longitudinal rails like the wilderness systems or yakattack stow and tow. I've used the malone nomad cart with it and it isn't good.

    • @americanvarietyoutdoors
      @americanvarietyoutdoors  2 года назад

      I use a DBPower car Jumpstart battery. It has a 12v output the I plug into and also two USB out ports. This usually lasts me about 7 hours with the 7 inch Garmin with GT54 transducer.
