Just had a 75k empire vented log set installed. My flex line seems to be making too much noise when burner is on. I just stopped by a local fireplace dealer who uses smooth copper pipe and no corrogated flex pipe. They had a 90k btu vented pererson unit running and it was quiet as can be. Im hoping when installers come back out to addrress my issue of wooshing noise it goes away with smooth pipe.
My question I just ordered a G4 burner..it works great. However I did not use an elbow adapter and the flex hose is not of the floor of the fireplace. It just goes across from the wall line to the burner assembly. Are these hoses and fittings heat resistant to be so close to an open flame for a prolonged period of time. I haven't used a gas fireplace in over 20 years and I think the last hose/line was copper or something. Just checking.
The hoses are stainless steel, not rubber, so as long as the flex line isn't IN the fire, rather, installed on the side of the burner where the fire cannot touch it, it should be fine.

So no gas line thread tape or compound to seal lines 🤔
