  • In this video, I fly with Eastern Airways onboard their BAE Jetstream 41 aircraft onboard the first ever flight from Humberside to Newquay!
    Eastern Airways announced in March 2022 that they would be starting this brand new route from Humberside to Newquay, Cornwall. One of the most exciting parts of this flight has got to be the water cannon salute we received from the fire service! It was a brilliant day celebrating the launch of this new route, and I wish Eastern Airways every success!
    Eastern Airways is a British regional airline based at Humberside Airport. It operates a fleet of turboprop aircraft, and recently, added the Embraer 170/190 aircraft to the fleet. Eastern Airways was a franchise partner of Flybe until the airline's collapse in 2020, and since then, has been flying solo. It has launched several new routes to fill gaps in the market that Flybe left behind.
    I thoroughly enjoyed my flight with Eastern Airways. I would highly recommend them, particularly as they continue to expand their services across the UK!
    I hope you enjoy this video!

    Humberside is my local airport too, but I've never flown from there, so thank you for giving me some insight into my local airport 👍🏼

    Just a technical point but scheduled time of departure refers to when the aircraft first moves under it's own power (or pushes back off the stand if applicable).
    Scheduled time of arrival is when the aircraft finally comes to rest after landing.

      How did it manage to clip 17 minutes off such a short flight? The published flight time is longer than the actual flight to give the impression of punctuality with some built in to cover late arrival. Noticed over the years that easyJet do same into Newquay. Seen 20 minutes off a less than one hour trip. No doubt others employ same tactic.

    • @LETSGOInflightAviation
      @LETSGOInflightAviation  2 года назад +2

      @@Thursdaym2 yeah all airlines do it. It’s to allow for some buffer time caused by slot delays, weather delays etc. The flight could take that long if there was a go around or a strong headwind for example

    • @aidengillag
      @aidengillag 2 месяца назад +2

      @Thursdaym2 schedule time is from "off block" or push back to arriving at the parking stand with chocks on. So engine start, taxi time, plus flying time etc is all factored in to this. Flight time itself is just one part of a schedule time. Flights from busier airports with known lengthy taxi times often have longer schedule times to factor this in. People forever confuse departure and arrival time, as the time the aircraft takes off and touches back down on the runway. It is not. 👍

      @LETSGOInflightAviation  2 года назад +2

      Well, they were fine for me to film as long as I held my camera during take off rather than have it suctioned to the window! This might have something to do with the fact that I was also in the emergency exit row! Thanks for watching!

      There's another very recent vid on youTube of a reviewer on the (I think) Inverness Eastern Airways service. The cabin crew (as tends to be the case with Eastern) were the rudest he'd ever come across. As he climbed the stairway into the aircraft, the cabin attendant at the front just barked "Off".... pointing at the camera.

    Nice. Great example of how a regional airport should be pitched. This airport completely eclipses Norwich airport, where they still, after 15 years, continue to charge a £10 "airport development fee" to every outbound passenger (despite NO recognisable development at all). Humberside looks compact, modern and comfortable, whereas Norwich is cold, uninviting expensive and completely devoid of character; the staff are patronising with an irritating sense of self-importance and an "Im doing you a favour" attitude. I live 30 miles from that tinpot, puffed-up centre of smugness, but refuse to fly it - me and my family would rather whip down to Essex and use STN every time.

    • @LETSGOInflightAviation
      @LETSGOInflightAviation  2 года назад +1

      I can’t say I’ve ever used Norwich, but I completely agree! HUY have never charged a development fee and the airport is so relaxing to use and is so convenient when living nearby (like myself - I live 35 mins away!). I’ve got to say the times I’ve used STN I’ve found it to be very efficient! Thanks for watching 😊

      As a Lincolnshire resident, road and rail links to Cornwall are pretty poor and the journey to Newquay is therefore pretty gruelling. Especially with a young child.
