People are both the most loving and cruelest species. This breed was the same type of dog famously preserved in ash from Pompeii. This breed deserves so much respect and love

A friend of mine saved 2 podencos and I can tell you these dogs are real angels . So sweet and grateful with their owners ❤They deserve so much Love

@@patbowman6723 They are originally from Portugal..They are a working breed- There might be a rescue like Galgos del Sol {Spain} who will help you to get one {/they do export to USA after checks} but will be neutered/spayed.
There are quite a few in UK {Rescues} they are very sweet dogs.

I have a Podenco from Spain. her leg was broken, and left to heal on its own while she was a street dog. now she's in Canada and is the loveliest dog ever. SO many of these dogs need GOOD homes.

I know someone who rescued a Podenco, and became an advocate for the breed. She tries to find Foster and forever homes for new rescues. And she loves her Pod!

What lovely animals. How can anyone mistreat any dog, lovely Paloma and sweet Polly. The kindness of some people gives me hope for humanity.
I have a rescue podenco, Herman. He is so wonderful, they really need all the help they can get. There are many international adoption organizations for podencos and galgos (Spanish hunting dogs) as they are usually abandoned and left for dead when the hunting season is over. Please help these guys and join animal rights groups that will put pressure on the government in the places these animals are most discarded and abused.

I rescued an Anatolian Shepherd named Aldo from a Spanish rescue organization Galgos en familia. Excellent organization! And a client rescued a Galgo from them too. They rescue all breeds!

I really love your videos. Scott over the years I've rescued many animals and even though I had very little money I continue to feed 12 feral cats every single day and I make sure they get very good food I am an elderly lady with kidney disease and many other health problems and I came very close to dying in October when I had surgery and while I was recovering my daughter and my daughter-in-law took care of my babies for me I am passionate about animals I just like anyone who abuses them in anyway I donate to to rescue organizations and I have adopted an elephant and then taking care of it for 3 years God bless you for what you do and God bless you all for the passion she has for animals I have the same passion I adopted animals from puppy mills the streets unwanted animals and I will continue to do so this is my passion my family God and my animals are what I live for and I will continue to do so for as long as God lets me live on this Earth and I had asked God when I go to my heavenly home to please let me be a keeper of animals I pray I will have all of my animals I had since I was a little girl in heaven with me again God bless you Scott and I really love your videos Susan United States

Working dogs like Podencos, Galgos, Ratonero Bodeguero or shepherds are not protected by spanish law. I am happy there are shelter like San Anton to help this awesome dogs into new loving and caring better lives.

That dog is gorgeous and unique
One of my horses has laser treatment due to tendon and ligament contraction and swelling following an awful injury to her fetlock. It did an amazing job, I was surprised, plus we had to bute her up and force her to move more

I saw a dog rescued on another channel, like this and from Spain. That's crazy.
I’ve always wanted one, no I’m not a Spanish hunter but I’ve heard wonderful things about these dogs. Some of the sweetest most loyal dogs that just want to please. Poor thing
they are. My dog is mixed with one and the thing is that the can get quite vocal and loud, love to play and do a lot of exercise, but they sleep a lot as well (like galgos). they become fixated on their owner and do great with kids... but also will do anything to dig holes everywhere lol

I feel utterly sick about how those beautiful dogs are treated in Spain--especially because how animal rights and care have "evolved" over the years. I struggle with my impulse to adopt them all! I learned something today but I'm not sure I'm glad. Yes, I'm glad! I need to expand my awareness everyday. I hope Paloma continues to enjoy life more and more everyday.
I recommend that you subscribe to the YT channel Viktor Larkhill. This is a pseudonym for a Spanish man who organises dog rescues and adoptions. I’m now watching one of his videos where a very scared dog is being bathed. It’s the same breed as Paloma but has a different colouring. I think you’ll enjoy Viktor’s videos. He’s recovering from an operation so may not have any new videos for a while. However there are plenty of others that should enable you to discover about the dog situation in Spain. All the best! 🤗

My dog has a similar back story, though no hunting dog, but also came with several fractured bones to the shelter. The fractures were badly healed as they were never cared for. She also has a crooked leg that has developed arthritis. Sadly she already was too old to undergo surgery when I adopted her. So her leg is still crooked. But she gets pain meds every day to be able to walk pain free.

When my male English bulldog first started having hip problems, we did Lazer therapy. It helped for a while, but his problems surpassed what the Lazer could help

There is also 'The Orphan Pet' channel based in Greece. Hunting dogs are treated similar there. Disposable in horrific ways...

Is she a Galgo? Or a lurcher with HEAVY Galgo influence? She is beautiful! I love myself a lurcher or a longdog, and while I have watched them hunt, those dogs were neither starved, or overbred! This poor girl looks like she was treated to a heavy dose of both!
Galgos are another Spanish dog that IS overbred and thrown away after a very short time . There are thousands of them in rescue too.
From Spain?! Not surprised they are cruel to their dogs especially when you see the cruelty towards bulls.
Some human beings use animals, some eat them and some care for them. Nature.
