      @@AdventureOverland2023 I found a 8.1l suburban, that’s been SO tempting for towing.
      But I’m still trying to decide.
      Definitely want to get into the LS as a platform for towing and drifting

    This is what I bought my Suburban for. Cant wait to finally go camping. Im starting so simple. Just a mattress and cooler.

      That’s how we started. It’s good to start simple to see how you like it, what you need and want, and how everything should be laid out.

    Cool video. I am currently gathering gear for a "mild build" on our 2013 GMC Yukon XL. Nothing extreme as far as off roading goes, but I do want to be able to tackle some minor stuff without worrying. I have always had rough & rugged 4WD trucks. This one was "handed down" to me when my wife got a new ride and is definitely the nicest truck that I have ever had. It has every option available in 2013 and is in GREAT shape. It has the 6.2 liter and runs great. I averaged 19.98 mpg on an 1,800 mile road trip last month, but even my wife says that I need to get it out of the "Mom-mobile/Grocery-getter" look that it currently holds. Amazon Prime Days came in clutch last week, as I ordered several things that had been lurking in my cart.

      If your wife is giving you permission, you’re lucky man! I would just buy gear, install it, and wait until she noticed, lol. All around, they’re an awesome vehicle, reliable and great road trip trucks. If you have a social media platform and want to share your progress with your rig, leave it in the comments. There’s a few Yukon/ Suburban guys here.

    this is a cool setup, have u ever thought of upgrading to a silverado and doing a small camper build on the bed?

      We see so many awesome rigs and think, that would be cool. But, our Denali is something different and we get a lot of comments with her. I’ve never owned a vehicle so reliable and dependable that it makes it hard thinking about owning anything else. Thanks for the comment!

    You ever thought about adding a second battery under the hood?

      Funny, I just watched a video about that. I was going to mount my compressor there so not sure, but it’s definitely a good idea.

    Nice.
    Do you have other storage? Like for chairs, clothes, you camera gear....

      @AdventureOverland2023  10 месяцев назад +1

      Currently we just bring storage containers to put all of our other gear. But in the future, we do want to build another drawer that will go under our fridge for clothing, camera gear etc. Thanks for writing!

    Great content! Im in a 2007 denali myself. As you already know there isnt alot of aftermarket options available outside of baseline overland (great hd roof rack for for these rigs) How did you mount the bags and jerry can mount on the back hatch?

    • @AdventureOverland2023
      @AdventureOverland2023  7 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks man! Ya, unfortunately there isn’t much for the Denali, so you have to get clever. The bag has straps, so I just opened the glass hatch ran them through and then through the trunk. The Jerry can mount I drill 4 holes in my trunk lid and bolted it. That was hard, cause you can’t go back but I’m happy with it.

    Nice rig. I have an 09 Suburban I'm building to explore. How did you mount your traction boards to your rack?

    • @AdventureOverland2023
      @AdventureOverland2023  7 месяцев назад +1

      I’ll make a RUclips short tomorrow morning on how I mounted the boards and post it later in the day. Easier to do that, than to try explaining it through text. Good luck on your build!

    How do you find off roading in a yukon? I'm debating on a yukon hybrid vs a 4runner.

    • @AdventureOverland2023
      @AdventureOverland2023  7 месяцев назад

      I guess it depends on how extreme of off-roading you want to do. Mine is the AWD option which has it’s limitations. But that being said, it’s done really well and gotten me places that even the Jeep guys were surprised. The Yukons are extremely reliable, mine had 466000km and I have 100% faith it will get me home every time. I like being different, but that’s me. Either one will do great, good luck on your search!
