  • As the summer days stretch into late July and August, updating the cottage garden involves focusing on vibrant, heat-tolerant plants and ensuring proper maintenance to keep the garden thriving. Introduce late-blooming perennials such as rudbeckias and coneflowers for continuous color. Deadhead spent blooms to encourage new growth and remove any faded annuals, replacing them with sun-loving varieties like zinnias or marigolds. Regularly water deeply in the early mornings or late evenings to prevent heat stress and apply mulch to conserve moisture and suppress weeds. With a bit of attention and care, your garden will remain a picturesque haven through the dog days of summer. Be intentional in adding color and heat loving plants to your garden beds.
Summer gardens are a vibrant tapestry of colors, textures, and scents that captivate the senses. Brilliantly hued flowers like sunflowers, marigolds, and petunias stand out against lush green foliage, creating a stunning visual feast.
Relaxing in a July Garden is a sensory delight. The air is filled with the sweet fragrance of blooming flowers, and the vibrant colors of roses, lilies, and sunflowers create a picturesque view. The gentle hum of bees and the melodious songs of birds provide a soothing soundtrack. As the warm sun bathes the garden in golden light, a gentle breeze rustles the leaves, offering a refreshing touch. Sitting on a comfortable chair with a cool drink in hand, you can fully immerse yourself in the beauty and tranquility of nature, leaving all worries behind.
In the July cottage garden, oriental lilies stand out with their breathtaking beauty and intoxicating fragrance. Their large, exotic blooms in shades of pink, white, and red add a touch of elegance and drama to the summer landscape. These lilies, known for their striking appearance and sweet scent, thrive in well-drained soil and full to partial sunlight. As they reach their peak in mid-summer, oriental lilies attract pollinators such as butterflies and bees, enhancing the garden's vibrant ecosystem. Their towering stems and lush foliage create a stunning visual contrast against the quaint, rustic backdrop of a cottage garden. #lilies #cottagegarden #summergarden #urbangardning
In a vibrant summer garden, the lush greenery of vegetables mingles harmoniously with the delicate beauty of lilies. Rows of tomatoes, cucumbers, and leafy greens flourish under the warm sun, their growth energized by the long days and balmy nights. Amidst this bounty, lilies stand tall and elegant, their bright blooms adding splashes of color and fragrance to the garden. The combination of edible plants and ornamental flowers creates a picturesque and productive landscape, showcasing nature's diversity and abundance in the peak of summer.

I love your channel. Do you leave the plants in original pots before you put in gardens, or do you repot them? Do you dig hole to sit pot inside? Thank you for sharing your beautiful gardens.

Sometimes. It depends on what plant it is and if I think it can survive being planted in the ground.
