- Ascent is my FAVORITE MAP to play ASTRA on. I feel as an Astra I have so much impact on either site, and can really punish any uncoordinated teams. VALORANT is so much easier if you understand the nuances for every map and with ASTRA being widely considered the hardest agent, I felt that this guide was much needed and hopefully makes Astra much more accessible to players across ALL ranks!

@@nickgrabowski3270 I've been testing between Astra and Viper, and currently leaning toward Viper being stronger
I'm a duelist main, but Astra is my main go-to if I don't feel like playing duelists or if I want/need to adjust. Really appreciating your videos, and I'm looking forward for the other maps. Hoping to apply these stuff in my future games :D

Thanks for the guide. Learnt alot! A question on the astra wall on 12:45 before attacker plants the spike. I have used it or faced it a couple of times, but people just rotate to the other site for free. How do you prevent that from happening?
Timing is everything, If you watch the example, I waited to hear the Reyna flash so that I knew they were executing. It's much harder to rotate mid execute!

Ascent nice! I love playing astra on ascent. Btw for next map can you do breeze or haven? Or is breeze just not a good astra map
astra is good on every map we love astra
astra isnt great on icebox and especially breeze viper better there
I probably won't be covering breeze or icebox since I feel Viper is definitely better (I play viper on those maps) I think as a controller main if you learn Astra + Viper you cover all bases!
Isn't Astra's Ult just a Viper Wall on Crack? Also You could do a Mid to B much better on Breeze if you have a Astra or another Smoker Since you can just smoke the window

@@suhasop4919 Agreed, double controller is super strong although ranked meta doesnt really support that level of coordination!
For the wall at 15:41. You said earlier that you can knife through the wall. Is it possible for the enemies to just knife the one that plants over there?
Yep it is possible! Honestly i've seen almost nobody knife through a wall at radiant elo so even though its possible i dont see many/if any people trying it. Don't worry about it too much!

Flow what’s your opinion on nova pulse I don’t see you use it to often
in most situations its pretty useless as its easy to dodge, the gravity well has much better use. I'll leave nova pulse as a second alternative if i dont have a gravity well!
In my experience with the smoke being that far out in a main entrance is that they just walk out of the smoke and the pull comes late, so I went and made the smokes deep with the pull following after it, is this wrong?
just make sure the smoke pulls them OUT of the smoke so theyre visible to you and there shouldnt be a large difference!

do you think it's worth learning astra as a silver/gold player? i feel like she requires a lot of coordination to get value out of, which is very hard to achieve in low elo because of bad comms and lacklustre game sense. should i instead focus on learning omen/viper and learn astra once im plat+? great video btw!
Astra is a little jarring to learn in the beginning, but with some dedication you can learn her pretty quickly! If you feel like you want to solidify fundamentals than I would say stick with Omen, and then move toward Astra, but at the moment, Astra is a must pick in the high ranks!
how do you put a star in hell on ascent a? for example if you're retaking and you have a few stars and you get a comm that someone is hell, and you want to concuss or suck? whenever i try it puts it in heaven
you have to physically fly into hell to make sure its place below and not from above!

To be honest Astra isn't the best pick on BREEZE or ICEBOX. Definitely worth learning viper to open up your map pool, but may do videos for Viper on those maps!

Icebox isnt very good for ASTRA imo, I personally main Viper on both Breeze and Icebox, but I'd be willing to do a guide for viper on those two maps!
@@FLOWSHIZZLE ok sure, however if you do decide to use astra on icebox, planting on top of nest at A site (the indoor one) ansd then putting a star next to it is a good tactic ive figured out because you can suck enemies and shoot them through the wall. Thanks for the video tho it was great

aren't all smokes 15 sec except brims(20sec)?
Kinda? Omen is closer to 15 and astra is literally like a SMIDGEN shorter (14.25)
according to an article) I use 15 because its easier to remember also the same time as her cooldown!

Dude then use the stars where people are mostly pushing and you'll apply enough pressure for them to be delayed at the least and put things in your favour :)
@@mohithkunchala6304 already did that, mostly i use astra. I only got like 6-7 assisst in a match, maybe lack of communication
@@moibubur4380 yeah communication is key on astra. Maybe try comming in agent select and see of you have that, and based on that you can choose either astra or omen.
