For what it is worth, France save Laos from Thai annilations. France fougth hard & prevented thai from taking over the entire land, but France gave up more than 1/2 of lao land to Thai from Chiang Mai all the way down to Na khone Pa Nom! For what is left is belong to China & Vietnam. 90% of lao people living in the region still living under exreme poverty & lack of economics opportunities!
