    Translated Lyrics:
    Promise this
Be a good husband or wife
    So promise this
    Don't give into desperation
Dry the swamp, slash-and-burn the field
    Clear the grounds
Milk the cow, harvest the crops
    Rest on Sunday
    Conceive a dozen kids
Nurse them and love each one to pieces
Work hard, work hard, work hard until tomorrow
    Tame your demons
    Promise this
    Don't conserve yourself
    Promise this
    Even if you'll go insane
    Get a doctorate
    Derive the circumference
    Decorate the interior white
    Give statements, smile
    Replace your teeth with porcelain
    Eat clean food
Lift the weights of the world
    Of course on Sunday
Work hard, work hard until the day after tomorrow
    Tame your demons
    Put them in order
    Tame your demons
    Put them in order
    Put your demons in order

Legend song that Preacher is 😋 Absolutely react to Diablo too. But i noticed that you like Nightwish, and ALSO noticed that you havent reacted to Marco Hietala's other band called Tarot. Check out their song, for example Pyre of gods. And, since it's almost christmas 😜 You should check out Raskasta Joulua. Pick any their song, Raskasta Joulua includes various metal and rock singers, mainly from Finland. They have had few gigs with Elize Ryd from Amaranthe, Floor Jansen from NW, and last year also Joe Lynn Turner. That group is singing christmas songs, again mainly in finnish but you might recognize some if you take a quick peek to their videos. I enjoy your reacts and really hope your real journey to Finland will be AWESOME!

    Accursed: Tame The Demons
Promise me so that you will be a good husband or wife, so promise me so that you won’t fall into despair / Dry the swamp, slash and burn the field, clear the grounds,
milk the cows, harvest the grain, rest on Sundays / Give birth to a dozen children, breastfeed them and love them all to pieces, pieces, pieces, pieces till tomorrow /
Tame the demons / So promise me so that you won't spare yourself, promise me so that even if you would lose your mind / Debate the book (the Bible), argue the circle,
furnish with white, give statements, smile, change teeth into porcelain, eat clean food, lift the weight of the world - naturally on a Sunday - grind grind till the day after tomorrow /
Tame the demons, set them in order, tame the demons, set them in order, set those demons in order

  •  6 лет назад +9

I've always wondered how well you pronounce finnish. :-D
And what comes to Mokoma, I have just started to really listen them. And they really kick ass. I saw them last month in our local bar. And that gig was amazing. Best gig where I've been in a long time. There was approximately 200-250 people, and the atmosphere was great. I even managed to get some people to moshpit with me. Not many, but we did get some action going on. Looking forward to be able to get to their gig.

To comprehend is to tame...just a different one for the same outcome. I am going with that. lol

Subbed hoping for more Mokoma and was not disappointed! Love how much you guys seem to be enjoying them so far. I can't help but wonder - and maybe you've addressed this before - howcome we never see ya look up any lyrics translations? It might add even more to the review is all. But maybe that's simply not your style, and that's fair enough. Either way, looking forward to the next one!

    • @APREACTS
      @APREACTS  6 лет назад

Translation takes away from the original meaning/feeling that the singer intended with the song. I rather let the music move me and let the voice be my guide, and let my mind make up what it means to me specifically

Finland have best strong words ;)

  • @EsaValkama
    @EsaValkama 6 лет назад +1

The last word is not perkele but it's basically the plural of perkele. Perkele is mostly used as a curse word, but it was originally (Hundreds of years ago) an old god of some sort and has since become a synonym for the devil. Thus the song name is basically called Tame the Devils. Like people in the comments already said, Tame Your Inner Demons would be more in line with what the song is about though.
I really love the way he growls the kesytä perkeleet part in the chorus. Sounds just so angry and powerful, it's awesome.
A new Finnish band that you should try is Kotiteollisuus. Not as fast as Mokoma or Stamina, but still awesome. They're lyrics are pretty funny so it's a shame you don't understand them, but they have some pretty nice songs anyway. Minä Olen or Helvetistä Itään would be good songs to start with.
Try Arion - Burn Your Ship (Studio Version)

One thing you could try is to take both the original and the acoustic version of a song. Kuollut, kuolleempi, kuollein is a great song for that, Mutta minulta puuttuisi rakkaus is another good example. And of course my personal favourite Nimensä unohtaneen rukous. All acoustic versions (there are two albums of those) are well arranged and versatile.

You said 'Hope I didn't say something really bad'. Well - perkele, plural perkeleet, is the strongest curse word in Finnish :)
Mostly because the r gives you chance to growl, vent the anger.

So, 'Summer Your Demons' - instead of 'Tame Your Demons' (Mokoma).
