I joined the Catholic Church roughly seven years ago and have completely changed my life. I love this channel because some of the other RUclips channels seem a little heavy-handed and I don't feel of Hope that I should when I listen to the messages. Thank you doctor for explaining these teachings in a way that well, gives me so much hope.

Not only was His Sacrifice selfless, the other selfless act was forgiving those who did that to Him: "forgive them Father for they know not what they do." Thousands of Saints of our Church who were martyred for the faith laid down their lives for Him in the ultimate act of selflessness.and love They refused to turn their backs on Jesus, they refused to publicly disown Him and suffered unimaginable torture and ultimately death for Him. Many of the Saints forgave their torturers and executioners. All the Apostles except John were martyred, thousands of early christians from Christ's Ascension to Constantine legalising christianity were martyred for Christ. Throughout the millennium christians were martyred for the faith and today in Africa and the Middle East they are still being tortured and murdered for refusing to deny Christ. The blood of Christ laid the foundations of the faith and the blood of the martyrs strengthened it.

Wow that is an extremely difficult message to grasp nowadays, but still requires attention...
Why should I honor Christ as my king???? as Paul said..
Is He the same as another king who rules this world?
Well, if Christ were just the same as other kings, then let's forget any idea about the lord... Let's live as if there were no gods nor lords...
But then we realize, He was totally different from others..
He surrendered His life and ruled by self giving...
Therefore all powers and all sovereignities above and here and below bow before Him..
    Praise Lord Jesus Christ 🥁🥁🥁

I gave you a thumbs up, but actually I would say Jesus wants us to be happy. And we will be (eternally) if we follow His will. But like toddlers living a crisis at the supermarket check-out line because mom won't buy us the candy bar in the shiny wrapper, we don't always want to follow her will as much as want to follow our own.

Edit: not that temporal redemptive suffering, carrying our own cross and doing what we can to help build the Kingdom aren't part of the equation, but I'm inclined to think at its root, this is about our relationship with the One we are supposed to love with all our heart, soul, mind and strength. And that includes desiring to be with that One, in what has been described as attaining beatific vision. That's what Christ wants for us, and we are supposed to follow His will, right?

What is it you want?” he asked.
She said, “Grant that one of these two sons of mine may sit at your right and the other at your left in your kingdom.”
22“You don’t know what you are asking,” Jesus said to them. “Can you drink the cup I am going to drink?”
    “We can,” they answered.
23Jesus said to them, “You will indeed drink from my cup, but to sit at my right or left is not for me to grant. These places belong to those for whom they have been prepared by my Father.”
This passage reminds why Christ is everything for us who continue in loving, following, and be with him whether we are divided or united we are all one with our Lord.💚

Some of the old semantics still show up in today's English. For instance, Semper Fidelis, the Marines motto, means always faithful. Not faith in terms of just what a Marine believes, but also what he or she does. And if someone is wondering whether his or her spouse has been unfaithful, the issue obviously is beyond what that spouse believes.

Actually, his approach breeds hatred for God, as it indicates that we're God's slaves, and the only righteous treatment of anyone at all, even a deity, whosoever owns any human being, is lynching due to the intrinsically sinful lifestyle that his God is engaged in by owning human beings, or of depriving mankind of mankind's own free-will, and the last of those, Free Will, is a *dogma* of the Catholic Church, whereas thus God's throne is *NOT* dogmatic at all, but clearly due to His throne, heretical at its very core, as the two are incompatible by nature!

“ In Sacred Scripture it is used, at one time, in the sense of a decree or edict of the civil authority, as in Luke 2:1: "And it came to pass, that in those days there went out a decree[edictum, ] from Caesar Augustus" (cf. Acts 17:7; Esther 3:3); at another time, in the sense of an ordinance of the Mosaic Law as in Ephesians 2:15: "Making void the law of commandments contained in decrees" (), and again, it is applied to the ordinances or decrees of the first Apostolic Council in Jerusalem: "And as they passed through the cities, they delivered unto them the decrees [] for to keep, that were decreed by the apostles and ancients who were at Jerusalem" (Acts 16:4).

I suppose that would be one way to look at it, but I don’t. It shows me how much God loves me that He would go through so much to save me from sin. We are slaves of sin without Him.
