Did you check the delivery? That’s another £170! 😂 Love the product but at over £300 for a board, replacement pad and delivery it’s not happening unfortunately.
I bought a Divot board a month ago or so, and it's REALLY improved my strike, especially on wedge shots where I was fighting a dose of shanks, but also improved contact with all the irons. Highly recommend.... though I bought mine through another supplier, same idea.
I work offshore and this is perfect for me to continue practicing my swing while away. I have just bought something very similar to this product. I find it very useful to gain data. As always mark great vid 👍
Brilliant insight Mark! I’ve had a divot board for almost 2 years and never thought of using it for short pitch shots! Totally agree on it being best used to improve low point control on full shots rather than swing path.
About 12 years ago give or take you reviewed the TaylorMade Rocketballz RBZ (the black with green accents) and strongly recommended them for a game improvement iron. I ended up taking your recommendation and purchased a set. I still use them now! Glad to see you’re still on RUclips!
Thanks for clearing up wear the ground interaction begins. Everyone always tell you the divet should always start at least 2” ahead of the ball. Also like the way you showed how to use it to practice chipping.. I have one and I love it.
I have this - when the pad runs out, and it will, the replacement pad is a bit expensive. It provides good visual feedback about your contact. Unless you do drills to improve ball first contact, it wont help you improve. So, you can find drills to improve contact and this divot board is not absolutely necessary. Placing a golf towel behind the ball will provide similar feedback without spending $139 plus $49 per replacemnt pad.
I have something akin to that and got it when I was starting out. As I've learned and changed form, I get back on it to dial in my low point and strike when trying new swing tweaks.
Hey Mark, great video! Would you consider this board as a viable option for a home simulator hitting mat. Do the numbers come out right? I feel like it could be a great training tool for strike with a launch monitor to assess your mishits instantly.
I've been looking for something like this. I have a smaller garden at home, no real possibility to put up a net and such. This would help me practice even without hitting a ball.
I recently purchased the Divot Board, great training aid! I love this tool, but I just can't hit in front of the ball. I can hit it about 1 inch behind the marker. Are there any drills that can straighten me out, Thank you very much! Mark Crossfield , the Best Teach out there!
These are good points. I found it made no real difference as the ball is next to never at the same height as your feet when playing. So being dynamic is important. To begin I put it below my feet on slope or at the range by the mat not on it. Like you said you can choke too but again for practice I like golfers practicing with choke and not for the dynamic practice so they are ready for real golf.
Imo, it’s cheaper to just use 2 alignment sticks and align it slightly larger than the club head. If you hit the top alignment stick, you’re swinging over the top on the downswing. If you hit the bottom alignment stick, you’re coming way to inside. Cheaper and works better.
But the board's primary purpose is to indicate ball/turf contact. There are other ways to do this, of course, but I can't really do that too easily in the garage over the winter. The Divot Board is brilliant for that.
I like the idea. I need to get one of those. May be good for winter practicing. $139 is a bit pricey but I will probably pay it. Are the less expensive versions cheaper made???
Is there a reason you can’t secure to grass tee with a couple tees or a metal “tee” on front and back. Otherwise great immediate feedback training aid. Love it.
Hi Mark, can I ask why you use the irons you do? I remember a few years ago you used to use blades because you wanted to keep the spin on the ball as much as possible. What made you go the opposite way? Currently having this dilemma at the minute
Can you elaborate a bit more on where the club should interact with the ground/ball? I think I may be trying to get the ball cleaner than I should. I tend to take a very shallow, if any divot.
Very good insightful and informative video with great practice ideas and drills, the mat is ridiculously priced and I would grab one off TEMU or something probably for 4.99 lol
I have been thinking about getting one of these but the price is a bit steep for me. I got a similar one from Amazon for less than half the price. I haven't used it yet so not sure how long it will last
Makes completely sense that a slightly out-to-in divot is normal. When you watch the pros the divot always flies to the left. You're hitting the ground after the ball so the arc will be coming back around. I don't think a perfect divot is perfectly straight.
The way I use it. In the course of I want it at feet height I place it on a slight slope below my feet. Remember on the course the ball is not often at feet level. At the range I would do both off the mat for ball at feet height and on the mat again to practice different lies. Hope this helps.
Great in theory - less great in practice due to the product's lack of durability. The sequins on the top surface easily become damaged from the blows from the impact from the club's sole. But, Mark wouldn't know anything about that - he only used the board for the length of the time it took to produce this promotional shoot. My suggestion for someone determined to purchase this training aid: buy the replacement pad (or two) - you will need it soon. Only costs a little less then the entire divot board.
I have a few students who have used theirs for over 6 months with a lot of practice. Yes they come off. Does that stop them seeing low point. Not at all Defo get the replacement pads but you don’t need to panic. Low point is very easy to see even with good wear on the board.
there is a height difference, so the mat must be put in the ground or you muist stand on a mat. Else it will give way of result, with the ball higher then normal
I simply don’t get this and can see why golfers do not get strike. The earth is NOT flat. Yes it’s above your feet but it’s not when you put it below or level with your feet. Strike HAS to be dynamic.
@@MarkCrossfield Yes exactly. depends on what you are practicing. If I want to know my strike pattern I have to test it like on the course. Having the ball up on such mat give strike pattern on uneven lies- but guess 99% of players want to know the strike pattern on normal flat surface
No becasueswhy would you only practice with it there? Use it off the mat you are stood on. In the grass put it above or below your feet. Golf is not played from the flat.
Looks like it's almost an inch thick... did that want make you to grip the club lower on the course? Definitely looks as if you didn't. (my own brain would probably tell me to).
No durability test? All the existing divot boards/mats have a bad reputation for lasting way too short... meaning weeks if you practice a bit... how many times did you hit it? Seems it started wearing after only a small review...?
I practiced with it for about 2 weeks before shooting the video. It will wear out over time. Obvs it doesn’t need to be box fresh to still show what it needs to show. I think I would fresh it up maybe every year, at the most.
Ridiculous price, can get simular for much less, do the same job.. You've hit that few times with full shots, and when you was doing chipping it looked shot at already.. £ 115 😂😂 total rip off
Was well into that before i visited site and 115quid, i was expecting 50 tops 🥴🥴
Ano, I'd rather hit fat shots 😂
They make replacement inserts that are like 50. I just bought one of those and stuck it on a cheap rubber floor mat.
Did you check the delivery? That’s another £170! 😂

Very good demo Mark! I have had my Divot Board for over a year. It works. Using it has improved my ball striking.

I always see ads for training aids like this, but I appreciate the simplicity and the insights as to how to interpret results! Thanks Mark!
when this first came out it was cheap and wore out within a couple of uses... NOW it looks a LOT better made. I am going to order it this week. Thanks
A massive improvement in my ball striking, and as a result I hit loads more greens !
Love it.

Thx Mark. It’s great and good recommendation re chipping. I also found it useful to stop toe first contact. Try and keep a wide square “divot “.

I have worn out two of these , I cut out my hitting mat and mounted it flush. It works as advertised
Just ordered one, used to use a cheaper version. Glad there’s a better one out there and excited to try it.
Thank you...just ordered one and have been looking for a video with a few drills and extended explanation of potential use.
Great video just ordered one of amazon for £13 complete with some foam training balls cant wait to get it out to the range
thanks for the review, would definitely help me with my chipping and help me strike the ball better
Already had this, but this will definitely help me use it better
I have something akin to that and got it when I was starting out. As I've learned and changed form, I get back on it to dial in my low point and strike when trying new swing tweaks.
Excellent demonstration, sold!

I'm taking my first golf lessons right after New Year's, and wonder if I can even hit the ball. This product sounds perfect for a beginner
I've been looking for something like this. I have a smaller garden at home, no real possibility to put up a net and such. This would help me practice even without hitting a ball.
It appears to be at least a half inch thick. Does it affect strike with your feet lower than the board?

Nice one, Mark.
A very canny chipping tip.
Like it. ❤
Any training aid that sits that far above the turf... How can you control your low point without choking down on the club?
These are good points.

12:02 activate the sequin sounds so technical 😂
That looks like a far better version than the one I wasted £50 on a couple of years ago 👍
Can you buy these in UK? Or are they sent from US? Thanks
I wonder if you could use that as a winter mat on the course or would it be classed as a training aid.

Just looked, £5.88 on there haha
Could you share some drills with the divot board Mark? Just picked one up using your code after seeing Lou Stagner was using one with you!
great video
What’s the difference between this and acu strike please
I have been thinking about getting one of these but the price is a bit steep for me. I got a similar one from Amazon for less than half the price. I haven't used it yet so not sure how long it will last
Good luck. I've seen some scathing reviews 😂 Which one did you get?
I have a problem with the ball staying on the board when the practice mat at the range is not level. Otherwise it’s cool training aid
Any thoughts on having a training device that sits an inch higher that your feet.
Maybe standing on mat of same depth would be more realistic
Yes do not practice from only flat lies. 👍
Makes completely sense that a slightly out-to-in divot is normal. When you watch the pros the divot always flies to the left. You're hitting the ground after the ball so the arc will be coming back around. I don't think a perfect divot is perfectly straight.

Silly question, are there any drawbacks to the divot board using it left handed?
Nope just turn it around should be fine. 👍

Really interesting, only assumed it was a bit gimmicky from the way iv'e seen it used online. The chipping is the reason i'd buy it! Great content
I would totally agree with you. I thought it was a bit silly.
So happy I tested it. It could really help lots of golfers.

wait, so divots are SUPPOSED TO START BEFORE THE BALL?
I am so confused.
Are you concerned that the thickness of the divot ball trains you to hit a ball that’s above you feet?
No becasueswhy would you only practice with it there?
Use it off the mat you are stood on.
In the grass put it above or below your feet.
Golf is not played from the flat.

It’s a review with some divot knowledge
Too expensive!
Am i being daft? 80 quid shipping?
Surely it only works if it’s at the same level as the ground
Why would that be? Like on the course you mean?
@@MarkCrossfield if you are practicing with it and using it to train then the ball level will always be slight above ground since it’s on a pad?
I like it
Surely it’s lifting the ball up like it’s on a small tee it’s not going to be your normal low point
