Waiting 8 HOURS To Ride Hagrid's Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure On OPENING DAY!

- A couple days ago, Islands of Adventure opened up its gates to thousands of excited, dedicated Harry Potter fans for the grand opening of one of the most anticipated rides in Universal's history: Hagrid's Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure. My girlfriend Brennan and I woke up around 5:00am to make it to CityWalk by 6:00am, got into the park by 6:30am, and then proceeded to wait in line for almost eight hours. The day was plagued by numerous technical and weather delays, but our spirits remained as high as our hopes for experiencing the attraction and revelling in the novelty of the experience. I feel truly fortunate for how the day ended up for us, as, regardless of the dependability of the ride itself, I was surrounded by people as excited as I was, and their determination continually fostered my own. This is going to be a fun memory I look back on, and I'm already excited for my next motorbike adventure. Thanks for watching, and I'll see you soon!

This ride will easily be tops in the world. I’ve said it since the experiences were talked about and confirmed. I’ve eagerly watched the construction the whole time and man am I excited to ride this. Glad you got to enjoy it
I tried to avoid the construction as much as possible so I would be surprised and boy was I surprised! It was so much fun and I’ve been actively thinking about it since I rode it!
oyby it’s so well done and I haven’t gotten to ride it yet. Have you gotten a chance to get to BG and ride Tigris? If not, you guys have to ride back row. It’s nuts.

Vincent! This was such a crazy day, so many Orlando theme park bloggers converging in one location. The most I’d ever wait for a ride would probably 2-3 hours. Thanks for sharing, I always enjoy watching your and Brennan’s adventures. You guys always seem like such nice and kind people.
When I ride it again (hopefully soon) I'd definitely prefer it to be around 2 hours max. And thank you, that means a lot!

Melissa Hamel I did! They did that with Pandora too I was so jealous. But as I understand it, only the top 3 tiers of pass will be able to go. Also Disney raised their annual pass prices (which we all saw coming).
oyby I know the price hikes are insane especially to folks who are on a budget and have families and this is their one big trip.
I remember in the good ole days (80’s) growing up and going my grandparents paid like $250 for an annual pass!
I’m excited at the prospect of Disney letting people (maybe?) camp out!

I was ECSTATIC. I've been waiting for this ride more than anything over in Galaxy's Edge (which I'm still excited about, but this is Potter). I can't wait to go back and ride it again!
If there was a passholder preview that long wait time could have been avoided!!!!!!!!
I'd like to think so, but a lot of the delays were due to the opening ceremony, the insane crowd, and the weather issues. I think we only had a couple actual technical delays where we had to wait an extended amount of time.

We left them all in the locker which I instantly regretted, because I was really craving them halfway through our wait.

I hope you get to check it out yourself soon! It's such a cool ride. Once the waits calm down a bit I could easily see myself on it multiple times a day. I remember when Dragon Challenge was a consistent 5 minute wait and all you had to do was run around through the line again.

It was all about the community of people there! I couldn’t have done it on a regular day, but everyone was so excited about riding it, it was just an awesome atmosphere.

Wow! What a long wait! I thought 3 hours for FOP was a long wait. I bet the atmosphere was great though. The ride looks amazing. I can't wait to ride it. Thanks for showing us opening day. I wonder how long the wait will be for galaxies edge!
The atmosphere was the entire reason I wanted to go opening day. I didn't need to be the first person to ride it, I just wanted to be surrounded by people as excited as I was!
I am super excited to ride this in September! I know for a fact I will cry when I ride it lol

So, why doesn’t Universal Studios do what the Disney parks do? When going to Epcot for instance, and you wanna ride the new Guardians of the Galaxy coaster, you have to go online, make an appointment reservation to ride it. So at 7am, you go online, make your reservation to ride it, they will tell you when your ride is scheduled, say at 1:30pm. So if you go to the park at say 8am, you go through the park and do all the other things, then at 1:15 or so, you head over to the G of the G coaster, and they announce your groups reservation on screens, and then you scan your card to tell them you have that time’s reservation, then you get on the ride…. Problem solved. No huge 8 hour line ups. Epcot allows everyone to make just one reservation per day, so you can’t go on it twice in one day, but this ensures everyone gets a chance to ride it. THIS system at Universal, first come first serve is unacceptable. There is NO ride on Earth worth this kind of wait, and horrendous treatment Universal forces on its guests who wanted to ride this ride. I’m sure even today, a few years after it’s been open, there is still several hours wait to get on this with no Disney type reservation system. Just ridiculous.

i said it on multiple videos everyone who wait 600 minutes for this ride has issues. not worth the wait you wasted you whole day for one new ride just dumb and i don't care if your from Florida and have a annual pass you still wasted a day.
Gotta strongly disagree with you there, Bryan! I actually had an exciting day, and it’s a cool memory that I can now say that I have. I obviously wouldn’t do it on a regular basis, but the community of the people that were there with us fostered an excitement that got us through the day. We had snacks and chargers and games and anything else we would have needed to be comfortable (except maybe a portable fan), so I think it was a day well spell, and not a waste in the slightest.
@@oyby to each his own. Nothing on this planet is worth that long of a wait. Time is a precious commodity we all have a limited amount of it and to waste it waiting for 4 minute ride is just dumb. But hey anything for hits on a RUclips channel I guess
Bryan Kriser I don’t think it’s dumb at all. People just spend time differently in particular circumstances. Plenty of people spend entire days on Netflix or tailgating for a big football game. Just depends on interests and how it subjectively justifies what the person wants out of their day.
@@oyby poor comparison tailgating is all day thing because your doing multiple things your eating food playing games drinking and eventually your going to watch a event that's 3 hours long. spending a entire day watch Netflix offers different experiences you can watch multiple episodes or movies. you can not compare that to waiting on a line. i want to use today's wait time to make my point but of course the ride is closed because of weather i will check it later today and tomorrow but i guarantee its not 600 minutes anymore maybe 90 even 120 or 180 but not 600 minutes, and that's the entire point. you could have waited but like with any shiny new toy or thing people just need to do it or have it right away instant gratification. glad you enjoyed the ride ill enjoy it too when i go and wait a hour or less and guess what our experiences will be the same the only difference will be is ill get to go on other rides plus probably ride this one twice.
Bryan Kriser I’m saying that everyone spends gratuitous amounts of time differently, it all depends on your attitude. We didn’t know how long we would wait, but the novelty of it was exciting. Like the feeling of seeing the midnight premier of a new movie. We didn’t do it for the views or the gratification, it was just fun to say that we did, and I’m glad we did. Heading home at 2:30pm, it didn’t take up much of our day at all. Either way, I hope you get on it quickly and have a great time!
