Also, the writing just gets smarter the deeper you dig. Like, just when you think you understand the plot and the characters, you realise there’s a whole layer of subtext underneath, and another under that, and occasionally *another* layer under *that.*
@@LM-EntertainmentAustralia I also watched it different ways. I watched it once with the English dub (since it's the actors' voices) and picked up a couple of nuanced things. It was either the English dub or the other version of English subtitles when I realized that Felice tells Maddie that it's okay to speak Swedish when it's just them in their room (or something similar), then Maddie responds that she thinks she sounds stupid (when she speaks Swedish).
@@lynnhettrick7588 yeah.. ive done the same thing and also picked that up. i didnt like the english dubbing to be honest - probably because its done after the fact so you lose the context and emotion which comes through in doing the actual scene. i also watched a lot of reactors and some people depending on where they were from (UK, US, etc) there were minor differences in the subtitle translations which was interesting. 👍🏼
@@LM-EntertainmentAustralia I didn't like the English dub either, but it was better than the Squid Game dub (made the mistake to watch it in English). The emotions definitely get lost. It's not the same. I think I noticed that a couple of times too with the subtitles.
Congratulations guys! Nice job. You caught the "Checkmate" and the symbolism. Most people miss that entirely. As someone below said, so much of this writing is subtext. With such a limited time to tell the story, Lisa believes her audience is very smart and will be able to follow the complexities of the plot. And it doesn't hurt to watch multiple times.
Also also, another thing to add, Sara wasn’t turned on by August having a panic attack, it was the fact that he *needed* her. And that seems to be something she craves (being needed but not necessarily needing the other person), likely because she feels like a burden to her family (which, ouch, she just like me fr).
Interesting 🤔 August also appeared "aroused," and he's fairly open with her. Sharing his struggles, etc. It will be interesting to see how this plays out.
Thanks you guys, I've been waiting for this. I really enjoy your reactions and I'm looking forward to your future episodes. I love your inside joke about it being 'explosive' and, of course, it truly is. Ich hoffe, ihr habt inzwischen schon Mal Knäckebrot gegessen und schicke euch liebe Grüße aus Österreich. 💜
Thank you so much, we are having a blast watching Young Royals. And yes, we had Knäckebrot. Panos had it this morning with Cream cheese 🤣👍 Liebe Grüße aus London and thanks for watching 🫶
RECOMMENDATIONS - Love In The Air Kinn Porsche ( only because i feel guilty watching it again for the 1000 time ) Word of Honour ( A LOT of episodes but all the feels ) Manner of Death ( watching now the Mystery element is soooooo Good )
@@showmoke I was hoping for March 1st. I saw on Omar’s IG that Episodes 1-5 will be March 11 and the series finale will be March 18. So we have to wait a week for the finale.
Burning the picture - YUP. he means business Wrapping himself in his brother's jacket and locking the Queen out - tell us he will be consumed with his feeling and his feelings only ( which is understandable) You pointed out Wilhelm's messy room - i really didn't pay it any attention the 100 times i watched ..but Willie in general is not messy not in how he dresses or keeps his room at school it just tell us that the season is about to be messy and that emotions are a mess as well . THIS. IS WHAT I LIKE ABOUT THIS SERIES ... THERE IS A NEW DISCOVERY EVERYTIME I WATCH
It’s hard for me to be happy for Sarah getting in to the Manor House knowing she only got in because she had August get her accepted by not telling her own brother who it was that filmed and then exposed the sex video. Very self serving.
Agreed, we don't think it is a good thing for her. Multiple reasons, but we also felt that there was a rift between Simon and Sara at the end of the season. Which can be most likely attributed to Simon seeing their dad behind her back. Thanks for watching 🫶
I swear, every time I watch this episode I’m reminded just how uncomfortable Marcus makes me. Like: - Lingers in Simon’s doorway listening to him without Simon knowing. - Enters Simon’s room without asking (I know that’s just a little thing that annoys me personally, but still) - The whole karaoke scene?? Where Simon actively says ‘no’ like 20 times and Marcus completely ignores it??? Also the “You’re going to sing” while they’re up on the stage? Ew. - - Also, additional thing, Netflix’s translation of the song Simon and Marcus sing is entirely wrong, because they don’t translate the song Främling (Stranger) - which is what they’re singing - they just put the lyrics for the English cover. The actual lyrics are much closer to: Marcus: Stranger, what are you hiding from me In your dark eyes? A faint nuance “You’re going to sing.” Simon: But still Simon & Marcus: A stranger, that’s how I feel about you Simon: I beg you Marcus: Let me know Simon: Who do you want to be? Simon & Marcus: Can you explain that to me? Just like Mona Lisa has her smile…
Also, at the karaoke, Marcus says, “Barjstad’s very own Simon Eriksson” when they go to sing. It gave me a bit of ick. It felt like he may as well said, “Simon from the s3x video” instead. As if Marcus was showing off that he knows the “famous” Simon.
Even though cute I never liked Marcus 😂 well you'll see later... Also good on getting the checkmate symbolism, I didn't get it first time, the writing is amazing

And can we please talk about the fact that this coffee at the cafeteria was about 17 Euros or something?! Like wtf. And all the others don’t have to bother while Sara is using her savings just for a snack.
@@therainbowreels no wonder she had to put the chocolate back! I really loved that detail, though a lot of viewers missed it. Cause it shows that no matter how „open“ and „inclusive“, this elite institutions try to be, the social gap can never be overcome. Sara never really had a chance to *really* fit in.
