While hatching and incubating at the same time how high must the humidity be for good hatching and how do I prevent shrink wrapping the hatching eggs when topping up the water in the trays when the humidity drops?

Ideally you want chicken eggs to lose 12% of their weight due to moisture loss during the first 18 days of incubation. This is usually achieved by regulating humidity between 50% and 65%. This same humidity can be maintained in the last 3 days. The humidity naturally increases during hatching, which can increase humidity in the incubator up to 70%.
On day 18 when you transfer the eggs from the turning rack to the hatching crates you fill the water pan. This water is usually sufficient for the last 3 days. We also have auto humidity feed via a reservour available. It is not advised to open the incubator from day 18 to 21. Happy hatching!
