I can totally understand how 'early shit' gets out there. These songs were the foundation of what made Mercyful Fate into the greatness of what they were and of course later King Diamond. I think these should be listened to with respect, and nothing else.
Yea, I agree it's interesting hearing death kiss and how it became a dangerous meeting. hank sherman is a fucking awesome guitarist and songwriter. He wrote basically alll of MF best song's.
i used to have the Curse of the Pharoahs cassette tape, which included these (rehearsal sounding) demos. classic stuff I still have my Live from the Depths of Hell tape
@Aethyrs Yeah i heard one song off melissa and it sounded just like a priest riff. But there are so many bands that do things like that to pay homage to thier inspirations. And the voice thing, before kill em all james hetfield tried to sound like the vocalist from diamond head because that was his influence. I have the powermetal demo and i love it and james does some cool stuff but...
lol so funny how their old stuff just sounds like regular classic rock. i could definitely imagine hearing this on a radio station that also plays Peter Frampton, Credence Clearwater Revival, or Lynyrd Skynyrd haha
Love the solos at both the beginning and end of this! They just don't make em like they used to.

I had to google what song "Love Criminals" is the demo for. I listen to this so much more than "Into The Coven" that I forgot! fucking quality, man!
Thanks...Such a killer riff. So under rated.
DAMN! this SLAYS into the coven!!!!!!!!!!!!
una versión anterior a "into the coven"? exelente
Awesome - love the great 70s-style artwork and of course, the classic group pick with a shades-wearing King!
Like number 66, glad I found these gems tonight

@Bassbait Well Priest was one of MF's inspirations so it shouldn't be too surprising.
