I am taking a structural engineering class and I haven't touched the material in 3 years. Your video was very informative and simple to follow. Thank you so much!!!
this vid was 1 years ago.. before, i dont really understand this even i learn more than 1 month. or +- 32hours. but your vid make me understand about this just teen minuts.. oh my god... is this coincident ?, thanks man....,,
I appreciate you trying to suppress the pen sound. It was quite distracting and made some of the previous videos, however good, rather difficult to watch. Keep up the good work!
you need to include that moment when you take moments about a point. instead of writing force x lever arm, you write the moment. remember to consider the direction of the moment i.e. clockwise or anti-clockwise.
Because when you use the area under the force curve to find the equivalent point load's magnitude, the centroid of the area under the force curve is the point of application of that load. This applies to other shapes (ex triangular shape). We can prove this by using integration.
You need to consider the lever arm from the point you take moments. Ex: when you take moments about C, the lever arm is 10m for R_A. I.e. distance from C to A.
@@jenilshah9384 I believe one needs to have some engineering schooling knowledge to comprehend this.....i am totally lost.....i would have liked to acquire some understanding...i agree with you Jenil Shah
youve helped me more than you can ever know, and for that i am truly grateful
I am really glad to hear and you are most welcome.
Same here,we having test I just came to your channel and everything I now understand
Same here😂

Glad it was helpful!
Sir,, you are really great teacher,
Your every video can Learn to from beginning,, greatfull.
Really glad to hear. Thank you.
Perfect to the point with great example to easily get reminded of old school concept. Thanks for your time!
Really glad to hear.
Takes me back over 40 years, to my first Theory of Structures lecture at University. I wish we had RUclips then
😃 RUclips pushed learning to a different level.
Thanks good video! Easy to understand and straight to the point! :)
Glad you found it useful
Good explanation there Sir 👏🙌
Thank you

thanks man....,,
oh one more..
maybe at that time, i learn how to make the result become zero..
hahaha..
sorry about my english..
tujuhtujuh well done 👏🏻 keep learning 😀
Well understood,Ra could also be found by equating sum of upward forces to be equal to the sum of downward forces.after finding Rb
semangat buat vid bang❤
Very educational channel
Great explanation. Thank you.
adam WOOD you’re welcome 😀

randy Mitchell 🙏🏻
Great explanation🙏🙏
Thank you.
Sir if it is simply supported beam then why there are hinge and roller supports??
derive the maximum bending moment and shear force how come it suppose(wl2/8)
Like👍🏻 share 👈🏻 and subscribe 👊🏻
Thank you 🙏
You’re welcome
WOW! Great explanation! Thank you!
What would be the thickness of the beam in this problem?
You need to design the size of the beam based on load effects and it varies depending on many factors such as concrete grade, reinforcement....
Nice I really appreciate thanks
Charles McGuire You’re welcome.
Thanks you so much I am confused in this topic
Raman Kumar you’re welcome. Happy to answer any questions.
What about sign convention sir
Could you kindly share the Shear force and bending moment diagrams
i still confus on the anti clock wise the RC should be Negative right teacher ?or negative only require when the Load that put on the beam unbalanced?
How would you do the same for a tube/hollow beam?
So if the beams are symmetrical about that point in the middle, are their forces always equal?
Yes, in the case where the loading arrangement is symmetrical and you have only two vertical reactions (simply supported).
What if you add concentrated moment at C?
you need to include that moment when you take moments about a point. instead of writing force x lever arm, you write the moment. remember to consider the direction of the moment i.e. clockwise or anti-clockwise.
Thanks
You are welcome!
NICE
then sir plesse make this video maximum bending moment of udl load supperted at ssb
how to find thickness of this beam?
Why line of action of load acting at centroid of UDL?
Because when you use the area under the force curve to find the equivalent point load's magnitude, the centroid of the area under the force curve is the point of application of that load. This applies to other shapes (ex triangular shape). We can prove this by using integration.

Good
I'm definitely failing this course
How can I help?
Why is RA and RC moments the whole
Span length? Shouldn’t it be RA x 5m because it’s clockwise to counter the 50KN point load?
You need to consider the lever arm from the point you take moments. Ex: when you take moments about C, the lever arm is 10m for R_A. I.e. distance from C to A.
Sir please I don't really understand this please
not clear
Nusrat Mustari which part is not clear?
