let's remember 1 thing. IF Muse Supremacy would have been the title song, the visuals would have adapted themselves around the song to fit it perfectly. So these visuals are actually tailored for Adeles song & i have to say, suits them way better than Muse's song. Although i love the fantasy of Muse doing the theme. And one day they have to.
After having watched Skyfall multiple times, I have to say that given the context of the movie along with how the opening sequence was done, Adele's track is a far superior fit compared to Muse's Supremacy. I do believe that Supremacy would make an awesome theme for Bond, but I do not think it fits with Skyfall's Bond.
Normally when a final song is chosen for a movie the artists can still tweak the lyrics to fit the themes of the narrative before it’s release. So it’s no surprise Adele’s song would fit the movie better. I’m sure Muse would have altered the lyrics if the producers had the taste and brains to choose this song instead.
Listening to the lyrics and knowing how the plot goes, my headcanon is that, while Skyfall is Bond's theme, Supremacy is Silva's. His motivation is pure revenge against M and the MI6, who trained him almost his entire life, took all his freedom and them disposed of him when it was convenient. Silva saw in person the "Policies" that "risen up and overcome the brave", saw that he died for them, was "unsung and lost in history", and now aim to hunt the "embbeded spies, brainwashing our children to be mean", he aims to destroy the MI6 Supremacy
the trumpet on the background starting from 3:29 is clearly a tribute to Ennio Morricone and to the music he made for the Dollars Trilogy. This is very nice touch. Chapeau!
Off course, if this was a bond theme, it would knock out all the other bond themes, I'm sure. I'm a big fan of Live And Let Die & Skyfall, but this song's on a different level.
Obviously. The films composer Thomas Newman wrote Skyfall with Adele, so after all their work should they just throw it away? It's about writing something that works for the movie, for the director and the producers. This Muse song is nowhere near as fitting as Adele
I think Adele's theme was the right choice - it was more 'Bond' - but this is fantastic. What I'm really interested in though is, apparently, this wasn't written for Skyfall - a member of Muse said it would have made the perfect theme, but the producers and Muse have said they were never in the running to do the theme. Yet the lyrics fit so well (Silva trying to end M's "supremacy") and listen to 1:17 - 1:21 and 1:41 - 1:46 - you can't deny that's part of the James Bond theme tune!
The introduction animations are too mellow for Supremacy, although if they would've chosen it over Skyfall I guess the intro would've made more bombastic. Supremacy is the perfect Bond theme song.
No. Really, it wouldn't have matched. Err I mean, this footage is meant to fit with Adele's hit, but if they had chosen Muse's Supremacy, then they would've made another video, of course
Muse kills it at capturing bond energy, and this would have been a great fit, but I don't think many bond themes are on Adele's level. It was the wrong year to give it a go. Would have rather had this song than "Writing on the Wall" or "Another Way to Die" though.
Would have been a great intro for the Entry of Bond. With the correct cinematics would've fit just fine. Shame they didn't include this for the last bond movie. This would've been a great addition to it and the end of an era of Craig's Bond. I mean everyone should get a chance and this would've been it. Billie Eilish for the serious part and this for the entry.
I’m a massive bond fan, and I’m the first when it comes to calling them out on their bullshit, but I don’t think they sold out when they chose Adele over this, I like it but I genuinely think Adele’s skyfall was a better fit.
I have to say this is one of the strongest second choices ever for a bond theme, I think on another movie it would have been better than billie eilish, Chris Cornell, jack white and Alicia keys, way better than Sam smith, it just so happens it was up with Adele’s masterful piece of music which fit the movie so perfectly
Adele is a female lead voice, while this is a solider-tone-like which imo suitable to the picture. A solider sing a song about an unsung hero, forgotten. BUT This lyric too much of a spoiler. While skyfall Adele more ambiguous. Just a thought
How is Supremacy not 007 style? It is exactly 007 style. It has every element of a Bond theme song. The orchestra, the guitar, the marching snare drum. The first time I heard this song the first thing I thought was that it sounded like something from a James Bond soundtrack. 4:02 even reminds me of Live and Let Die. And 1:42 sounds almost like the main theme from all the Bond movies. You can't tell me you're not hearing that.
it's funny because it was announced on the radio that muse originally wanted this song to be the theme of skyfall but they were too late b.c adele's song was already chosen before.
This is a great song and should be used for a future Bond film. It just doesn’t fit this Bond film. Adele was the right artist for the moment, and killed it.
You didn't exactly respond to my point. I didn't compare it to Another Way to Die (as it sounds nothing like it), I compared it to Live and Let Die, which is one of the most iconic and memorable of all bond themes.
Love this so much. I do think the film was rather tacky though. With that home alone - inspired ending, it seems the producers are clearly running out of ideas lol.
Negative. Adele's song fits perfectly. Supremacy is good, really good. But this is not 007 style. It (style)has history. And SKYFALL was released to celebrate 50 years of 007. So, it was a great decision to make Adele's Skyfall the title song
'cause it was written exactly for SF. But I don't think that they would use rock again: everyone hated AWTD, and it was rock. Bond's true style - soul, sorry
I hate because it was the James Bond song that skyfall won that award at the Brits. Adele did a song for a film series where a movie comes out every few years and muse did a song for the London Olympics, which we probably won't see again and they get nothing. Stupid mainstream music!
the song is perfect for Bondiana theme, but the Intro video doesn't really work with it. Supremacy demands something much better and more sophisticated than this weird "Gothic" video-stuff
I think Adele's theme was really amazing, but when i knew Muse also did one, i listened to both and Supremacy is clearly better (except maybe for the vocals).
it just really doesn't fit. Maybe in the brosnand era but that was it, its too techno for Daniel Craig's dark era, and way too slow and moody. People will over-hype the weirdest crap. i honestly prefer another way to die
+ethanSADTP Skyfall and Writing's on the Wall are pretty slow and moody. Had this been in contention for Quantum of Solace I'd have been up in arms over the choice of Jack White's atonal travesty.
meiray Writing's on the wall is just moody complaining, Skyfall is the opposite of moody, it is the best bond song ever, Quantum Song was ok and a lot better than writing on the wall and muse
+ethanSADTP Well, I think what people are getting at is that Muse is certainly capable of producing a Bond theme. Perhaps they'll get their chance with the next incarnation.
I agree. Supremacy is decent but that's it. The verse is really boring. I used to prefer it over Adele because I love Muse, but really Adele's song is a perfect Bond theme and overall a way more atmospheric song.
Adele's Skyfall song is a way better Bond theme. It is more classy and atmospheric. Reminds me of classic Bond songs like Goldfinger. I used to like Supremacy better but now I realize it has many flaws. The verses are plain boring, lyrics are uninspired, and overall it sounds like it is trying too hard to be a Bong song.
They should make a movie just to use this song. They can call it "The Bond Supremacy"... no, wait...
I love this song way more than skyfall
Clever..Good one
hahaahahahaha I am laughing laying on the floor
Adele suits this movie, Muse suits James Bond
I guess this sums it up pretty nicely.
let's remember 1 thing.

Agreed

Agreed. But I feel like supremacy could've been great for spectre.
Normally when a final song is chosen for a movie the artists can still tweak the lyrics to fit the themes of the narrative before it’s release.

Muse forever. The 24th Bond movie should use Muse's song as the intro. Eon could use a talent like Bellamy.
right on
yesss
the trumpet on the background starting from 3:29 is clearly a tribute to Ennio Morricone and to the music he made for the Dollars Trilogy.

Off course, if this was a bond theme, it would knock out all the other bond themes, I'm sure. I'm a big fan of Live And Let Die & Skyfall, but this song's on a different level.
the studios went for the more profitable Adele of course...
Obviously. The films composer Thomas Newman wrote Skyfall with Adele, so after all their work should they just throw it away?
It's about writing something that works for the movie, for the director and the producers. This Muse song is nowhere near as fitting as Adele
Adele's song really fit for this movie even tho muse is one of my faviorate bands
Muse actually turn up to their concerts ,not cancel them
I think Adele's theme was the right choice - it was more 'Bond' - but this is fantastic. That classic Bond chord progression at 1:40
Same here. First time I've heard this track, I thought that a new James Bond would come out.
The introduction animations are too mellow for Supremacy, although if they would've chosen it over Skyfall I guess the intro would've made more bombastic. Supremacy is the perfect Bond theme song.
No. Really, it wouldn't have matched. Err I mean, this footage is meant to fit with Adele's hit, but if they had chosen Muse's Supremacy, then they would've made another video, of course
this should be the new bond theme not that new shitty Sam Smith shite.
Yes exactly
Sorry but Sam one is actually really good and this one too you can't really compare them cause both are really good in there own way
Alexia Gonzalez lol
Alexia Gonzalez Sam Smith. Great at stealing melodies. Smh
Paul Cosadinos agreee
Although I love Adele's "Skyfall", this is a way better James Bond song 🤩
Muse kills it at capturing bond energy, and this would have been a great fit, but I don't think many bond themes are on Adele's level. It was the wrong year to give it a go. Would have rather had this song than "Writing on the Wall" or "Another Way to Die" though.
Feels more like a 90s Batman movie song
"007: Supremacy"
This song lyriclly fits Spectre more.
pretty damn well indeed
This works SO well. They could have sped up Supremacy a bit so as to not recycle the intro material. But man, does it work.
The intro is so freaking amazing.
Would have been a great intro for the Entry of Bond. With the correct cinematics would've fit just fine. Shame they didn't include this for the last bond movie. This would've been a great addition to it and the end of an era of Craig's Bond. I mean everyone should get a chance and this would've been it. 1:42 It doesn't sound like the theme, it IS the Bond theme ;) Those three chords anyway.
I’m a massive bond fan, and I’m the first when it comes to calling them out on their bullshit, but I don’t think they sold out when they chose Adele over this, I like it but I genuinely think Adele’s skyfall was a better fit.
I think this song is better but i have to agree that skyfall fitted better
Now I am more than happy that they choose Adele and not Supremacy, because Supremacy is Epic!!! Undoubtedly, this song deserves more.
Thank you for clearing my vision
Actually fits pretty damn well
BRAVO DUDE!! WELL DONE!!
4:50 i'm sure this is james bond enough, nuff said.
absolutly perfect!!!!!!
I have to say this is one of the strongest second choices ever for a bond theme, I think on another movie it would have been better than billie eilish, Chris Cornell, jack white and Alicia keys, way better than Sam smith, it just so happens it was up with Adele’s masterful piece of music which fit the movie so perfectly
this is amazing
surprisingly spot on
Fits damn good to me :)
It kinda works...I liked Adele's song, especially during the movie, but I think they should let Muse do at least one Bond theme.
Shocking absolute Shocking!
Muse was definitely robbed by Adele.
Ratchael 93 love Adele and the song she did for skyfall but it would have been so much cooler to hear muse at the start of a bond movie
Adele was great let's be honest, but as a Muse fan, I would kill to see a muse song in a bond movie.
Adele is a female lead voice, while this is a solider-tone-like which imo suitable to the picture. A solider sing a song about an unsung hero, forgotten.
BUT
This lyric too much of a spoiler. While skyfall Adele more ambiguous.

@AgatheBW I guess that game he said he would need a powerful voice I guess that game he said he would need a powerful voice that he couldn't do
I really hope they use a Muse song for a Bond-theme in the next 007 movie! Muse forever!!
just roll the video back 10 seconds and things fall into place!
This deserves a different Bond movie than Skyfall. Skyfall was great and this song is great. But there are different kinds of great.
the video and the song fits together pretty damn well if you ask me :)
this is how it should be! jack white did also a great job in quantum of solace
Meuse is the best of the best band!
same here also from MI:2
wish muse had done spectre that sam smith song is just awful worse bond theme ever
Radiohead did and Sam Smith was picked over them
@@ewansmithmusic9763 it's a fucking travesty

This would have been so much better! No offence Adele
Much better
Somehow it occasionally times perfect xD lol
I think the song would have to be cut more than the video would. Mainly, the solo in the song.
I really like this song but Skyfall fits better with the theme of the movie : the mother.
Way better!
How I wish this was true
I heard it was made for the movie, but you know...
Fuck Yeh
This is better
Pffft, probably never watched a Sean Connery/Roger Moore Bond...

not bad
For me, the James Bond themes have been getting worse for almost 20 years. I thought the Adele theme was terrible. This one nails it.
'cause it was written exactly for SF. But I don't think that they would use rock again: everyone hated AWTD, and it was rock. Bond's true style - soul, sorry
As much of a Muse fan as I am, Adele’s Skyfall absolutely TROUNCES this song as far as Bond themes go.
Adele's skyfall fits this movie and has a lot of the james bond elements. I't's a reason why they chose her song
Great music this, great music by Adele, amazing open sequence…..too bad the film is to tediously boring.
I hate because it was the James Bond song that skyfall won that award at the Brits. Adele did a song for a film series where a movie comes out every few years and muse did a song for the London Olympics, which we probably won't see again and they get nothing. Stupid mainstream music!
adele is basically the perfect for james bond, just go back and listen to the older songs. i think this is a good fit
Eh, I'd probably walk out and wait for this to be over if it was in a 007 movie.
Better then that Sam Smith guy.
the song is perfect for Bondiana theme, but the Intro video doesn't really work with it. Supremacy demands something much better and more sophisticated than this weird "Gothic" video-stuff
Nah
Better than Adele
If I’ll be honest... this song doesn’t fit the film at all.
I think Adele's theme was really amazing, but when i knew Muse also did one, i listened to both and Supremacy is clearly better (except maybe for the vocals).
At better than Adele
