- It was a wild day at Daytona. Relive all of the crashes from the 2019 running of the Great American Race, from Ricky Stenhouse's early move that cost Bubba Wallace, among others, to William Byron's ability to make it through two big, late crashes before a third took him out -- and, of course, The Big One that cost 21 drivers a chance at crossing the finish line.

To show you the power of flex tape, I wrecked half these cars.
Ohh my the mad man when will he stop showing us the power of flextape
I saw so much flex tape.
More than that
Omfg haha
That's a lotta damage
Good thing pace car doesn’t get points for lead laps.
T P I would actually like to see it happen
I knew this would be the Thumbnail the news would use for the race. Smart choice
Watching cars crash is a strange way to enjoy motorsports.
Didn’t watch the race but this pretty much summed it up 👍🏼
Yo claw boss I luv your vids

Mike G why are you on the comments then
4:36 Discount tires, lol.
Nice one
In Atlanta, we call this Monday Rush Hour.
You know they don't like it was it all the way to a different point in my car but it wasn't the first one

David Hawkins - Not understanding the logic behind turning race cars piling up into a political issue/joke. Seems like a pretty petty thing to do to me.
@@davidhawkins9782 The 635 during rush hour!!
I hope to never ever have to drive in Atlanta again
This is how every Nascar race should be watched. Just 8 minutes of your time the very next day.

Wow Ricky was involved in some crashes how very unlike him.

Trucks NGOTS: Demolition Derby
Xfinty series : Lapsy daisy
NMECS: Demolition Derby
lol wow
Agreed......NASCAR should look at what it cost the teams to replace those cars and trucks. I've been there and spent long nights repairing them.
The cup race was fantastic up until 10 to go when it became a demo derby
NZ Super Stock Cars, are full contact racing,-. ruclips.net/video/pfgZaTvKlCE/видео.html
bruh xD
Hehe they knew that this was all we really wanted to see 😉
Considering this is the entire coverage of the race, with a runtime of 3 and a half hours of the same 5 commercials over and over, I'd say they thought we wanted to see commercials.
When you lie on your resume but get that race car driving job anyway.
Erik Jones was down a lap two different times , got in a wreck , dodged another by a hair , finished 3rd !!!
That simply means the "Lucky Dog" came into play or everyone else wrecked out! Doesn't mean much about his driving skills.
You sure you didn't mean Ricky Bobby
@@markp.7165 Only 3 cars got by without being involved in a wreck ..........Jones beat all the wrecked cars , only his teammates that had no damage beat Jones . How many times did Jones start a wreck ? O.
@@markp.7165 Look at the last wreck in this video and find Jones car Lol . Luck and skill combination. Amazing that he drove through that wreck .
I only watch Nascar for the crashes, so this video is great!
We wish those of your ilk wouldn't watch.
@@mikelavin9704 so you dont watch the crashes?
@@altimgamr ha good spin! Cuz only the stupid people actually watch nascar for the race! That crash we with 10 laps to go was Eppppppic! Like 18 cars all smashed up at 200 mph. That was great!
What did you think of the 2019 Daytona 500?
Great, twas a crapshoot at the end but so many had a shot to win and it was a great 500 to watch
it was great imo
FOX Sports don’t know. Feel asleep after they said “start ur engines” 😴
FOX Sports awesome race
Fox Sports keep them coming commercials too. better coverage than usual. Thanks
As a little kid id watch these waiting for moments like this not nascar but racing in general
These drivers show excellent driving skills even while crashing. Everyone went home safe.
This race overall just fun to watch.
So many small stories, Ross Chastain running well, Byron racing like a veteran and so on.
A few meme moments like the Rick Ware cars crashing in pit road and Stenhouse causing another wreck.
And an emotional finish to close the book. Honestly it was enjoyable, I may have dissed Nascar throughout 2018 and the off season but boy I'm glad it's back.
Rick ware cars crashing should be in a compilation called
NASCAR weirdest crashes because Tyler reddick got a little air honestly unexpected and Jimmie with that crazy damage but finishes 9th
Ricky didn't cause that last crash, Larson did. I like Larson but Ricky should have fenced him. Late blocking like that is dirty
Yeah, the whole commentary about the pit road crash was... announcers are derpy pony or something? COMPLETELY missed, despite numerous replays, the two cars beginning the mess on the track??
how do people not get bored of watching the same cars go in circles over & over?!
Crashes are the only highlights nascar ever has to offer
Easily one of the biggest problems in NASCAR has got to be how dependent the drivers are on keeping their cars undamaged. These cars are so dependent on staying free of any body damage that the slightest damage can pretty much end a team's chance of winning.
Those new and young drivers with these cars are starting to make it watchable again!
Just like rush hour on division street in St. Cloud, Mn 🤣
I saw stenhouse make that move and I immediately yelled “WHYYYYYYYY!?”
I also said “WHERE DID YOU THINK YOU WERE GOING!?” and “WHERE ARE YOU GOING!?” a lot too
You trying to give up some hole
He pulled to the bottom and got chopped. Where was he supposed to go?????
It was a great move and Chase probably could have followed him all the way to the front if the 42 had not have slammed into him
The way I saw it Stenhouse #17 moved down to pass thru the middle lane and Preece #47 moved down to cut him off and started the whole wreck. This looked like a bunch of teenage kids driving around the track, not professional race car drivers. NASCAR needs to clean this crap up and get back to racing not wrecking.

*_THE ALL NEW GRASS CUTTER 3000 UNVEILED AT DAYTONA!_*
Talk about ouch. Garrett Smithley spun out.
i was waiting for someone to get out of the car and yell "WATCH WHERE YA GOIN" lol
If they can guarantee me a nice crash every 10 laps, I would watch. But for now, these highlights will satisfy my racing needs.
Going to Daytona for the 500....$ thousands. Watch 8 min of crashes.....priceless
I haven’t watched NASCAR in years; but I don’t remember all the sparks flying from blown out tires during every wreck, from every car! Am I just not remembering correctly or is this a new phenomenon?
They're so low to the ground for aero and the suspensions they're running nowadays causes it. Plus it's a night race so you see sparks more. I must say (even if this is a crash video) this is some of the most pathetic driving I've seen from "top tier " drivers. Rewarch and look at the amount of cramming accelerator out of blind reaction instead of trained driving.
that race was a hour worth of crashes and waiting. Its been 30yrs, when is nascar going to find that "fix" for super speedways theyve been talking about since 1987?
Yeah, like, create a track that involves more than turning left and super-tuning the suspension on one side of the car?
Le'mans and the like are real races.
And 'NASCAR' is a misnomer - there's not a darn thing 'stock' about those cars. If you want 'stock' car racing, go do the dealer lot and take *those* onto the track. That's stock... dealer stock. Dealer retains all rebates, incentives, and insurance payouts.
Get ready for a whole season of this
This was a great race! Kyle Larson was involved in most of the crashes, but he still finishes 7th. Nice job Larson.
Can Larson ever finish a race in one piece?

after that one omg first time watching a race in quite a few years, and I was so shocked by that accident! Took out a bunch of the top guys :(
will there ever be a Daytona 500 without a big one or any wreck at all?
2016 didn’t really have a big one.
There have been a few caution free Daytona 500's. One of which I believe was 1961. In recently memory there have been none.
2010, 2015, 2016 didn't really have huge ones. But I kind of root for there to be at least one big one

I like to see 43 start 43 finish.

Darrell Waltrip needs to Boogity, boogity, boogity into retirement.
Jett Rink i can't stand Darrell waltrip so annoying they should replace him already
@@joeychimera1432 Waltrip has been a great racer and ambassador for the sport. I got to watch his career. But all good things do come to an end. Since Gordon went into the booth Waltrip has seemed off his game, and maybe a little intimidated. Maybe he's trying to hard. Jaws went through his career thinking of himself as the best, and he near was. But Gordon would be sitting on 7 without the chase, and there is no debating who the better and most relevant driver is in the booth.
Yup, it's time for DW to proudly retire a great champion. Carl Edwards can step with Jeff a bit better maybe. I'd love to see him come to the booth.
Now I just said all of that, and I cut my cable 1.5 years ago. But I do watch sometimes races my son records for me because he knows I've given up something I love on principle. So I may not be the best judge of Ol DW. lol
Greg Lyle - He seems the same to me, but I'm used to his commentary and I like the perspective he brings. I've been watching since 2001

Pretty boring until lap 190
GT Master and that’s when all hell broke loose
As always, FOX did a excellent job commentating The Daytona 500. Kudos to all the commentators! That said, a lot of you aren't going to like, or agree with, what I have to say about the current state of NASCAR Cup Racing.
Coming from a diehard NASCAR fan since 1963, it was a great race, if you're the type of (non-fan) who watches races for the wrecks. In NASCAR's effort to attract more fans & sponsors (which worked for a while), I'm going to steal a line from a sports writer at Car and Driver, who recently wrote of this year's 500: "NASCAR has substituted excellence on the alter of parity". Couldn't have said it better. First and foremost, as any fan knows, because of past rule changes "for the better", every motor, chassis, body, etc. in a current Cup car is virtually the same, no matter which team or what the manufacturer, with no chance for the individual teams or drivers to gain any "real" advantage during a race. Is that a good thing? In my view, a definite "NO". Sponsorship and overall viewership is down (with The 500 being the exception), which is a telling story in and of itself. Past and current rule changes have made a once exciting sport quite boring, to the point of being almost unwatchable.
Had it not been for FOX SPORTS and their "always great" race commentators & color crew, the 500, just like most other Cup races these days, would have been a complete snore. Keep it up FOX, you guys make my favorite sport still a worthwhile watch!
"One of the world's most difficult things to do is running 200mph and trying to get on pit road under green conditions".
You serious? I know it's challenging but that's rather normal in top-class racing....
4:40 discount tires LOL
Well it was finally exciting to watch
Did all the sparks in the wrecks seem uniquely excessive in this race compared to others?
Definitely a scary race, hope the racers are OK. Andrew
Fox sports know why we watch, for the wrecks not for the race haha
The Daytona has just become a smash up derby for three hours with a three lap race at the end.
That Bryon kid was doing a great job
6:03 the 47 shot through that gap great driving
Slow motion is so painful 😣

Plate races need 2 dirt corners and 2 paved corners.
Or indeed, any corners at all
I don’t watch this stuff but it’s cool that I’m 5 miles away from this
This is what all the 1.5 mile track races are going to look like this year. Support your local track people.
Wow. I didn’t realize nascar was still around.
You probably don't know much of anything I'd guess
This is what people are waiting for when they watch these races.
When you turn right
Strange seeing wrecks that don't involve Danica Patrick.
Why so many accidents???Was it a windy day?
Getting on pit road at 200mph is the hardest thing in the world.
yeah only because rocket science isn't always in the world and brain surgery only kills one person if you fail.
Going from response times keyed to 200mph down to 60mph is *quite* the jump, perception wise. That's why when you've been cruising at 80 and slow to 60 it feels like you're crawling.
Deciding to exit the pit approach lane at 120 while the cars behind you are entering the lane at 160 is bound to cause just what we saw.
Literally the only reason anyone watches restriction plate racing.
What was the first caution
