    Great balanced video. And very thorough and non biased. My S23 Ultra has just received it's first camera update yesterday (21st February) which 'improves on video and photographic abilities' according to Samsung's Korean site. Enhanced detail in 'high pixel' mode and 'enhanced Super Steady mode' are also specifically mentioned. With only one variant of the S23U to focus on now, I feel this will be Samsung's most heavily developed camera system to date.

    Thanks for presenting the audio/visual capabilities more thoroughly than other reviews, especially with ample audio comparisons.
    I've seen lots of comparisons and the presentation of the audio quality varies with the reviewer. It occurs that the side by side set up should be stacked so the top and bottom mics should be clear as possible from the proximity of another surface. Perhaps there should be at least several centimeters distance between every surface and the mics. Even a case can effect audio quality.
    There are different audio video functions worth demonstrating too; zoom, omnidirectional, etc.
    We have to remember these are phones, for which there's no substitute, unlike the cameras, which we already have and are far better than phone cameras. . .

    Pretty close battle! Obviously Samsung is better at high zoom levels, but in general S23 Ultra photos are a bit oversharpened in my opinion as it was on the S22 Ultra. The 50 mp and 200 mp doesn't seem to bring an advantage in details in most occasions, it's definitely proves that going to a 200 mp sensor which is the same size isn't the right decision. A bigger sensor would make more sense, as the natural background would be nicer and stronger and photos at night without night mode would be way better. Also night mode wouldn't need that long to make the picture. In portrait video the Samsung had some stutters in the sideways movements. The iPhone on the other hand had some problems with the flowers with very bright colours. In general Samsungs whitebalance is off quite often as it was with the S22U. But maybe a but less often. Colours are also a bit to saturated. Video stabilization on the Samsung is amazing, probably even better than on the iPhone for the first time. For the front camara, portrait shots at night from the iPhone are unusable, really horrible, whereas the ones from the Samsung are really good. Front camera video at night on the other hand was better on the iPhone. Again a very good comparison. Waiting for S23U against X90 Pro+ comparison!

    Very good comparison as usual.
    On the other hand, I would like to know if you shot it before or after the 1st update of the S23 Ultra?
    I ask the question, because apart from this kind of yellow-orange filter still slightly (if not a little too much for my taste) present on the photos of the S23 Ultra, I find the results of the S23 Ultra in your comparison really better than what I had to see in other comparisons.
    I found that daytime photo-video very often had a problem of underexposure in the foreground, while they were too bright in the background, almost overexposed.
    But there, I saw very little of these problems, and I found the S23 Ultra better in 90% of cases except on the night selfie video which is really bad, worse than on the previous Ultras.

    Galaxy S23 ultra vs. iphone 14 pro
    * has a cool color default setting, while iphone has warm color default.
    * Brighter default: S23
    * Clarity: S23
    * Scene Optimizer: S23 emphasize background/foreground, iphone emphasize foreground
    * Zoom: S23 100x vs iphone 15x (but the 100x isn't very clear)
    * Macro: S23
    * Crop: S23
    * Camera: S23 (the S23 is tad brighter which makes photos clearer and prettier)
    * Wider view: S23
    * Video (in general): iPhone
    * Video zoom: S23
    * Video w/ close object: S23 has more clarity to close object but blurs the background. Iphone opposite
    * 8K video: S23
    * fore camera: even
    * Camera picture: even
    * Camera clarity of foreground w/ background blurred: iphone
    * Camera clarity of foreground w/ background somewhat blur: S23
    * Indoor portrait: S23
    * 8K camera: S23 (but it looks not that different from 4K, only when making big prints)
    * Camera stabilization: even
    * Front camera: iphone brighter
    * Night camera: S23
    * Sound: S23 bassy iphone: bright, treble
    * Night video: iphone (warmer looks)
    In my conclusion, the two are very similar. The iphone emphasize warmer tones in general camera pics. Also, I like iphone's sound which is clear and more treble. But in every other dept, S23 has more features, including, surprisingly their night video, and zoom.

    Samsung/Android has surpassed iPhone in pictures and is almost caught up in video. From what I'm seeing, the iPhone is still the king in video and you can see this most easily in the lowlight. I have a Pixel 6 and am hoping that I see the day when an Android phone surpasses the iPhone in video. I much prefer the balance that the Pixel has with ease of use and features with no bloatware compared to the Samsung (too much going on and bloatware) and iPhone (too restricted and proprietary) but the Samsung is the hardware king and iPhone is still the video and integration (accessories and software) king. One example is that with RUclips shorts on Android still doesn't give you the ability to mix your original audio with trending music (you either add music at 100% or use your original audio only), and Dji products don't have a supported Android app (not on the playstore). If you have the money or it is integral to your business, you carry both an Android phone and iPhone.

      Those people who say the Huawei Mate 30 Pro is better than the iPhone 13 Pro on video?
      Those same people who say the iPhone 14 Pro's zoom is better than the S22 Ultra's?
      These are the same kinds of guys that are at DisplayMate, saying that the Pixel 7 Pro's screen, which doesn't even handle the P3 color space, is better than the S22 Ultra's.
      Seriously, look for better sources please 🙏🏽

    The Samsung takes to long to process I hate that slow phone I want something quick and fas and reliable imagine I have to wate 10min for a photo to take while I can take and go with the iPhone what's that quality for if you hate to wait to have it while the iPhone does it instantly ouff. You would think I'm insane if I have to choose the Galaxy

    Seems like Samsung does better at night front-facing photos, is way too saturated in day photos, too saturated in videos. While iPhone seems to get color accuracy right and does better at night video. It's a tough one if you like to take selfies, especially night selfies, seems Samsung does way better, but has saturation and color accuracy issues in video and rear camera.

      Samsung seems more consistent across all situations, and now it's on par with the iPhone with the videos, but also has 8k
