Great balanced video. And very thorough and non biased. My S23 Ultra has just received it's first camera update yesterday (21st February) which 'improves on video and photographic abilities' according to Samsung's Korean site. Enhanced detail in 'high pixel' mode and 'enhanced Super Steady mode' are also specifically mentioned. With only one variant of the S23U to focus on now, I feel this will be Samsung's most heavily developed camera system to date.
S23 if you like overexposed shots which somehow come with less detail than the 14 Pro... weird but Samsung has always had this issue, sure some Samsung owners will talk about how a 'software' update will fix it haha.
@@n3hp5 lol.. iPhones have FAR worst issues. Oversharpened, over exposed, over processed, crushed shadows, turning people orange and turning whites yellow. It's by far the worst camera on a phone imo
I don't understand why some people say that cinematic video on the main sensor is better on iphone, i always find it quite blurry on the subject and the edge detection is pretty bad compared to the Samsung
Thanks for presenting the audio/visual capabilities more thoroughly than other reviews, especially with ample audio comparisons. I've seen lots of comparisons and the presentation of the audio quality varies with the reviewer. It occurs that the side by side set up should be stacked so the top and bottom mics should be clear as possible from the proximity of another surface. Perhaps there should be at least several centimeters distance between every surface and the mics. Even a case can effect audio quality. There are different audio video functions worth demonstrating too; zoom, omnidirectional, etc. We have to remember these are phones, for which there's no substitute, unlike the cameras, which we already have and are far better than phone cameras. . .
I always like your videos, they're very detailed, covering various scenarios and multiple features of the phones, like the Samsung scene optimizer on and off, which I've never seen anyone do

Pretty close battle! Obviously Samsung is better at high zoom levels, but in general S23 Ultra photos are a bit oversharpened in my opinion as it was on the S22 Ultra. The 50 mp and 200 mp doesn't seem to bring an advantage in details in most occasions, it's definitely proves that going to a 200 mp sensor which is the same size isn't the right decision. A bigger sensor would make more sense, as the natural background would be nicer and stronger and photos at night without night mode would be way better. Also night mode wouldn't need that long to make the picture. In portrait video the Samsung had some stutters in the sideways movements. The iPhone on the other hand had some problems with the flowers with very bright colours. In general Samsungs whitebalance is off quite often as it was with the S22U. But maybe a but less often. Colours are also a bit to saturated. Video stabilization on the Samsung is amazing, probably even better than on the iPhone for the first time. For the front camara, portrait shots at night from the iPhone are unusable, really horrible, whereas the ones from the Samsung are really good. Front camera video at night on the other hand was better on the iPhone. Again a very good comparison. Waiting for S23U against X90 Pro+ comparison!
Very good video!! I really hesitate between these 2 phones I sing in the street and at home and I wanted to know which is the best in terms of audio and video quality for the front camera? Thank you !!

In this video, you will watch the S23 SMASHHHHHH the iPhone 14 Pro cameras in quality, and overall performance. It's still funny to see some saying that iPhone is better, or others are catching up. Those are not aging well...maybe with the next iPhone, we will see some improvements from Apple. They have lots of work to do with their colors, and also opening up their camera app some more. Basic auto is not cutting it. Oh yeah, Portrait video KILLS on the S23 phones this year, 4k is the way. Thanks Grant, as always...you have the camera comparison crown.
Portrait mode doesn't allow you to adjust the blur amount and the background from the foreground focus after you've taken the video. Cinematic mode does. It also shoots in Dolby Vision HDR. The S23U shoots in regular SDR , no HDR10+ support for portrait video
Really good this one, even better than usual 👌 This green noise in the sky in night mode of the S23U is not good. Other than that very good this Samsung
👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 Very good comparison as usual. On the other hand, I would like to know if you shot it before or after the 1st update of the S23 Ultra? I ask the question, because apart from this kind of yellow-orange filter still slightly (if not a little too much for my taste) present on the photos of the S23 Ultra, I find the results of the S23 Ultra in your comparison really better than what I had to see in other comparisons. I found that daytime photo-video very often had a problem of underexposure in the foreground, while they were too bright in the background, almost overexposed. But there, I saw very little of these problems, and I found the S23 Ultra better in 90% of cases except on the night selfie video which is really bad, worse than on the previous Ultras.
