Hard to say anything about this. So many levels. I must though, through admiration. To translate a manual based design to partial machine built process is difficult for even basic designs. The evolution of this complicated design to machine manufacturing is frighteningly difficult. The ability to process and map each piece machined in multiple is at least equivalent to the original skill. Thicknessing, cutting and docking in multiple while understanding each part created is exceptional. Then we have the tolerances required for each joint while allowing for different multiple intersections in various joint types. Combined with the hand planing and cutting process allowing flexible mitres is incredible. I was astounded by the high quality machinery with oversized systems. After watching the video I can see how necessary this must be for precise repetition. I consider myself a quality woodworker with an healthy Japanese tool and technique influence with a good career and this makes me look silly. Cool!

This is the first time in a long time I've seen woodworking tools that are unfamiliar to me. I like that table saw that moves the blade instead of the work piece. Very interesting
That was a sliding table or panel saw, the camera view made it look like the blade was moving but he was pushing a sliding surface over the table saw like a mitre jig
Nice video. I take my hat off to those who build Kumikos because they make it look so "easy"! Especially when the wooden strips are all sawn on the saw. Wish a nice weekend.
