- The region of Arcadia in Peloponnese, Greece is one of those places you definitely need to explore. From the mountains, all the way down to the lowland areas, Arcadia offers stunning nature landscapes, beautiful hiking paths, rivers to go rafting and archaeological sites of great importance... which makes it one of the top places to visit in mainland Greece all year long.
In this fifteen minutes 4K travel video, we visit the following locations:
1) Panoramic view of Lousios gorge
2) The Holy Monastery of St. John The Baptist (or Monastery of Timios Prodromos) located at the root of a high, vertical rock
3) Lousios River at the location called Kokkoris Bridge
4) Lykosoura, which according to the famous Greek traveler Pausanias, is the oldest city on the planet. Pausanias actually is considered to be the author of the oldest travel book guide in the world
5) Agia Theodora in Vasta. There, is located a small church with 17 trees on top of the roof and water flowing from the church's foundations. The site is famous worldwide and attracts thousands of visitors all year long for the miracle it offers.

Σε αυτο το δεκαπενταλεπτο βιντεο, ταξιδευω στο Νομο Αρκαδιας στην Πελοποννησο και επισκεπτομαι την Ιερα Μονη Τιμιου Προδρομου, η οποια βρισκεται μεταξυ Δημητσανας και Στεμνιτσας, το γεφυρι του Κοκκορη στο Λουσιο Ποταμο, την πολη της Αρχαιας Λυκοσουρας και το εκκλησακι της Αγιας Θεοδωρας, κοντα στο χωριο Βαστα, Αρκαδιας.
Ενα οδοιπορικο που ολοκληρωθηκε μεσα σε 12 ωρες και αφησε εμενα και την οικογενεια μου μαγεμενους απο τα ομορφα oρεινα τοπια αλλα και μας γεμισε κατανυξη και δεος απο το θαυμα που αντικρυσαμε στην Αγια Θεοδωρα.
Η Αρκαδια αποτελει ιδανικο μερος για αποδρασεις στη φυση. Ειναι ενας νομος με τοπια εκπληκτικης ομορφιας αλλα και τοποθεσιες ιστορικης σημασιας. Δεν εχετε παρα να παρετε την αποφαση και να βαλετε πλωρη για ομορφες περιπετειες!

Έτσι ακριβώς! Και το μοναστήρι αλλά και η ευρύτερη περιοχή της ορεινής Αρκαδίας είναι μαγευτική. Επόμενο μεγάλο ταξίδι εκεί τον ερχόμενο Γενάρη (πρώτα ο Θεός). Θα ακολουθήσει και το αντίστοιχο βίντεο. Καλημέρα!

Φίλε μου εκπληκτική δουλειά. Όντας από την Αρκαδία έχεις επιλέξει πολύ όμορφες εικόνες και μέρη.
Ευχαριστώ πολύ για την επίσκεψη και το σχόλιο!!! Η Αρκαδία είναι πραγματικά ένας πανέμορφος Νομός με πανέμορφα χωριά αλλά και άγρια τοπία που προκαλούν δέος και θαυμασμό στον επισκέπτη. Το συγκεκριμένο οδοιπορικό είναι από τα αγαπημένα μου και πιο αξιομνημόνευτα μιας και ήταν το πρώτο ταξίδι μετά από 6,5 μήνες lockdown. Ότι και να πω θα είναι λίγο για τα συναισθήματα που ένιωσα σε αυτό το ταξίδι.

John, where is it exactly where you parked your car. We will go there next month and want to hike this path.

As you look at the screen on your left hand side is the small church that you see at the beginning of the video. The path you need to take to reach the monastery is clearly seen on maps. It leads to another parking spot but it depends on what type of car do you have and weather conditions (it's a dirt road). The monastery is a 20-30 minutes walk from the parking spot. Make sure you have water with you and wear comfortable shoes. You can rest at the monastery, they provide the visitors with greek coffee and cookies. Filming inside is not allowed but pictures are ok if done in a discrete manner. If you have further questions I will be glad to help.
