Great podcast, I know someone very close to me who had a bad heroin addiction, injecting smoking the lot they've been clean for over 10 years by bringing their meth script down on their own. I forget 99% about their past but listening to this makes me really appreciate how hard and how far they come is incredible especially off their own back

Weed and an unproductive lifestyle and an immature mindset is a bad combination.
Also understanding that all substancee are different is important.
The way this guy behaved smoking weed was all the tell tale signs of an addict.

Just wondering if your Uncle was called Trevor, heard about him from a somebody in Bristol.
I'm an ex addict myself, spent two and half years on the gear and crack, and then 3 separate addictions to cocaine, which ran over a total of about 12 years, nearly had two cocaine overdoses and had a tablet overdose trying to get off cocaine. I'm drug free and booze free for 5 and half years. If you come out the other side of class A you're very lucky many don't make it. People turn to drugs for many reason, try not to judge but understand.

I completely understand where he’s coming from in regards of weed being a gateway drug for him-it was a gateway drug for my ex husband. My ex would become so paranoid and violent every time he smoked it. He hid his habit so very well and due to me working every hour that God sent, I didn’t notice, which looking back now, there was signs before the paranoia and violence..

I'm a recovering addict tried it all and alcohol was my gateway drug is for most people they just don't know it great podcast tho

He’s not clean he’s on basically subutex buprenorphine but in injection form that lasts for a month or 6 months and looks like he’s just swapped his addiction for food , when people say there clean but taking buprenorphine it’s just complete nonsense, it is a wonder drug and it has naltrexone in it so it’s a blocker from using gear but it’s just like taking subutex every day , it is true that when the injection wears off gradually the withdrawals are mild , but sitting there saying he’s clean is absolutely 💩 ,
