Typically home planers are either portable or stationary units. A portable unit is normally smaller and more compact, only able to accommodate smaller pieces of wood. A portable wood planer would be beneficial for small woodshops, less frequent use, or smaller scale projects. A large stationary planer is best for large scale, high volume planing needs.
my question is.....at 3:54, where are there eye protection and hard hats? dust debris is very fine particle and can travel great distances......and hard hats come in great use in all situations.....
Can someone tell me who makes the machine we see at 8:35 minutes in the video? The machine makes stacks of 4-5 laths and then straps them. I would really like to know. Thanks
I worked the hoist. Good job and I was good at it but the feeder was a bitch and flipped out if I missed one little thing. So I bid out and let him deal with someone who did not do half the job I did. Hope he liked that. Day shift guy said I was one of the better operators. He hardly ever had to get up and do anything.

A lot better set up than we use..
Nice finish on the lumber. I guess if you are running that slow you would.

not to mention why aren't there shirt tails tucked in? they could very easily get caught in the chains......

the company who makes the strapping machine at the mill where I work, is called SIGNODE.....but I'm in the states....

fuck paying for 6 inspectors....must be BIG money involved
That feed rate is so slow. I'd be surprised if that planar could even run 400k fbm on an 11hr shift
