Crazy shortcut! It looks awesome. There is always a way to turn off music/volume. And if you can't figure out how to do this without words, wow. Your layouts were good- I understand perfectly what to do. I don't understand why so many people gotta be mean and negative.
i love your technique of making these blocks,,,and i will be ordering your shortcut sheets as soon as i can,,,these are something i will want to hand down to family when they start to quilt
Thanks for this shortcut video! I have made these blocks before and it's always such a pain to calculate and cut and figure how many to make on each side etc. You shortcut at least part of the process! Can't wait to try it on my next quilt.
I usually measure my blocks and multiply by the number of blocks plus borders. Measurement should always be something plus 1/2" for the seam allowances. If I need a specific size, I just add width to my border. Using the quarter square triangles to make the ribbon border, I need an odd number of units, so need to be carefully making sure the measurement before the border is correct. Hope that makes sense?
Just wondering how long the strip sets should be -- are you using the full 44" or shorter pieces and repeating? I'm ready to try -- just fearful of messing up.
Hi Susan, I usually make sets of 44 (22 left and 22 right) although you can make more. There are multiple size options. Checkout the methods at: www.kitsbycarla.com/store/c16/ShortcutSheets and call if you have any further questions. Phone number is on our website kitsbycarla.com
Hi in the short cut sheet for QSTs, can you explain the Step 1 Calculations? Is this the step to calculate how many units you’re need for any quilt or just for a quilt with QSTs in the block? Thanks
Isn’t this the coolest! Can’t WAIT to check out your website too. Thank you!

I found this looking for border ideas. Thanks! I’ll give it a try!

Love this shortcut, such a time saver. Thanks for posting.
WOW! Awesome!
Wow. So clever.
How do you get the correct top and side measurements for your quilts? Sometimes my tops measure in half or quarter inches.
