Hey Matt, the 2015 red box chewy is actually a sequel version. I have the 40th AHN card back Chewy and it has the same head and 2 swivel on the body as the archive. Great review as always!
I thought that was a Force Awakens version... And I totally forgot about the 40th of ANH Chewie. The picture on the back of the card is still throwing me off though. 🤣 Hey, thanks for the good info. I appreciate you checking out the review!
I think I may pick this guy up. I don't have a Chewie yet, and this one looks pretty nice (and it's readily available). I really like the wash they did on the bowcaster. Nice review, love the Yavin ceremony display, it looks pretty awesome. Congrats on hitting 4k subs as well! MTFBWY
It's a very nice Chewie. Happy to have it. And yeah, the bowcaster does look great. I appreciate you checking out the video, and thank you so much for the support! 🙏
Those steps do look really good Matt.... I only have 1 Chewbacca, the ESB one, but the Archive one looks good too, the wash on the bow caster make it pop. I think you might have sold me on this. Great review. 👍
Hey, thanks, Mitch! It's a pretty good Chewie I think. I agree, the weapon looks very nice. Maybe you can grab it on sale like I did. Thanks so much for checking out the review!
I have the 2014 Chewbacca, and it does have the double jointed body with the open mouth head. I believe it's the same as the archive and 40th A New Hope release, aside from paint improvements.
Ah, thanks for the good info. I completely forgot about the ANH 40th version. I'm very happy with this Chewie. I appreciate you checking out the video!
Hi matt Bryant awesome figure of the amazing wookie "CHEWBACCA "IS AMAZING FIGURE TO BUY KEEP COLLECTING AND MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU ALL STAR WARS FANS THE FORCE IS STRONG WITH THIS ONE 🍺🍺🍺🍺
I hope someday Hasbro makes a more flexible Chewie, specially on the torso, so we could pose him in a kinda hunchback pose he makes sometimes when shooting
I was astonished by how tall Archive Chewy is. I looked online to make sure there wasn't a mistake. He is almost a head taller than Vader which was previously my tallest.
Yeah, he's super tall - maybe a little too tall. Peter Mayhew was 7' 3". So, Chewie should be a smidge over 7 inches tall. Most of the Chewies are not too bad, but the archive version is almost 8" tall. A bit much, but I'm still glad to have it. I appreciate you watching!
@@Matt_BryantThe actor's height is not so important tho.. There are sources indicating Chewbacca as 7'6 and 8', so maybe this one is actually the most accurate so far! Besides, we don't know how Wookiee biology works, maybe their height fluctuates some couple of inches due to some reason, let's be creative, haha
Hmm... I like both! 🤣 It's really a matter of preference. The 40th is great. But, after getting the archive - I like the bowcaster way better. It really depends on if you want the open mouth or closed mouth. Both are excellent representations of Chewie. I appreciate you checking out the review!
I may pick this up if i can buy with Old Han. I do have some sequel trilogy and don't have a Han and Chewie. Chewie doesn't really change between trilogies so I think any will do, as you said, just brown fur.
The new face on Han looks pretty good. I think this is a nice Chewie. He and Han always look good standing together on the shelf. Thanks for checking out the video! 👍🏻
I know this is an older video but I just picked this up for $9.99 at one of those mega closeout retailers. I wanted to go with the ESB model because some say that this one is too tall. But when I saw it at such a reduced price I figured I might as well grab it. How do you feel about the height of this one scaled with your other black series figures? I noticed when you had it next to the ESB Chewie, it wasn't really a huge amount taller. But in your photo where he is in front of the steps he looks taller than the figures that are standing on the steps! Or maybe that is a trick of perspective? (Chewie being closer to the camera) Anyway, I hope you have a nice day!
That's a great deal on a really good Chewie. Yes, it is taller - somewhere between 1/4 and 1/2 inch taller. I think it's because the head is rounder on the top. When it's displayed on the shelf, it looks great. Of course, if you had the two versions side by side, it may look a little funny. It's still a great version - I love the open mouth/growling look. I appreciate you checking out the video!
I can recommend the Bandai model kit 3po he’s chrome shiney and r2 will deffo meet expectations I have a few of each and I got the last Jedi version of Bandai model kit C3Po so “all gold leg” just so I could strip the yellow shin but still have gold foot for empire lol 🤓 accuracy and all that lol
Yeah, the model kits do look great. R2 is more appropriately scaled, and 3-P0 is so shiny. Sounds like you've got a good plan for 3-P0. That should look good! I appreciate you watching! 👊
@@Matt_Bryant yeah man not sure if you’re looking to add a different line they scale perfectly just trying to recommend what I feel would be the best for that scene, r2 is really clean at the end of that movie so no need to weather him if you did wanna get them🤷♂️

Yeah they have the wrong figure photo on the back 🤦🏻♂️. I forgot to mention that the steps look good 👍🏻 and Chewy needs a medal 🏅
The steps looks excellent matt Bryant awesome video has always they both amazing figures
Thanks very much, Mark! I appreciate it. 👍🏻

Is the Chewbacca Archive release the same as the Return of the Jedi 40th Anniversary figure?
It is not the same figure. The 40th has the collar and chain. The archive is based off the 2015 release with the open mouth. Thanks for watching!
@@Matt_Bryant Thanks for responding.

It would certainly be nice. I guess it's hard to engineer when you have sculpted fur. Hopefully one day. I appreciate you checking out the review! 👊

Cheers for the video.

Man, Chewie never gets a medal.
Ha! True... I tried using the medal from Yavin Leia. It's too small for his big 'ol head. Thanks for checking out the video!
