You should never have a betta and a goldfish together... yikes. Also goldfish dont need heaters, and that tank is to small for a goldfish...

When the water temp reaches 78° the heater will automatically turn off so the water doesn't overheat. You should get a thermometer in your tank so you can see what the temp is that way you'll know if the heater is working.

@@Sprkymx Do you have a thermometer? Maybe your aquarium or the new water you have the heater in is already at 78° that might be the reason for the light turning of so quickly.

First thing the instructions say is tilt it a t a 45° angle. Pointing straight up the heat rises and tells it the temperature is reached and shuts it off.. I recommend reading the directions.

Hey just so you know. That heater will automatically shut off if the water temp goes pass 78 degree so you should check the water temperature. If it dropped below 78 degrees, it’ll start up again.

The amount of mistakes in this video is a bit alarming. Hopefully you've been able to do some more research on fish care and have been able to correct some of them (assuming you're still in the fish keeping hobby). The heater itself definitely isn't great for everybody (I personally had some issues at first with mine, but after looking into it, I have been able to fix the issues). You want to make sure that the heater is fully submersed into the tank with no part sticking out of it, while also making sure that you place the heater in a spot that has more flow (ex: near the a filter or even air stone). Having the heater next to an air stone or filter will ensure that the whole tank is being heated properly since the flow of the water would basically distribute heat throughout the tank. If the heater is just in one of the corner of your tank, it will most likely end up only heating certain parts of the water, so you'll end up having a mix of warm/cold water in different areas. Personally, I prefer to keep my heater in either a fully horizontal position or even at a 45° angle since it also helps in distributing heat throughout the tank. Regarding the choice of fish in the tank, betta fish normally shouldn't be kept with goldfish because they have different environmental needs (goldfish require slightly cooler temps and normally don't need heaters in the tank while bettas should have higher temperatures considering they are tropical fish). I know that you said your betta fish is "chill" in the video mainly because it is hanging out around the filter, but most likely it is scared or stressed which is why it is hiding behind the filter. Based on the condition of its fins, it also doesn't look extremely healthy. The only other thing that kind of alarmed me is the fact that you said you have only had your tank for about 2 days and already have fish stocked into it. In my opinion, it definitely feels like you mainly wanted to have the fish as a hobby and most likely rushed into getting stuff for it straight away without doing a ton of research. Normally for smaller tanks like yours, I would recommend cycling the water for at least a week so that the tank can establish trace amounts of ammonia and nitrite levels (basically just to make sure that the water parameters and everything is okay for the fish. Ideally, unless you bought a pre-cycled tank from a local fish store, you normally shouldn't stock a tank that soon without cycling it properly. While I am still not a fish expert myself, a lot of the information I have provided is stuff that took very minimal research and my fish are all healthy and thriving :)

Pet store called Atlas pet supply here in Minnesota told me I could have a Betta and gold fish together but two different places said “absolutely not” unfortunately I have spent too much money on several tanks because some are crap and cracked and now idk what to do. I have to move the Betta I know that but over $300 on everything when it should have been simple and I shouldn’t have been lied too. Thankfully they get along though. Damn heater isn’t working for me either I’m annoyed as this tank cost $89.99 with everything in it.
