this is my favorite NFS .. though had some minor annoying bugs where in cockpit view sometimes the hand suddenly freezes but the stirring wheel still responding .. only way to fix is to restart the game ,.. overall underrated game .. this game is almost perfect

@@Alexneroverona all cars have very differently handling due to their design, I would say it is more realistic than some sims in how the car handles, even in real life you have to antecipate corners, and you can't just expect to sit in any car and know how to handle it in the first go

I remember completely crushing people in the online lobby with my unique Scion time attack car! :D Or crushing record after record with my 1500HP AWD Nissan GTR while drifting with 250 kmh thru the corners. :D Overall was drifting in this game the best way to be fast^^ Love it, i will buy it again and play it in good quality on PC! The full Nurburgring track at night on this game was so instense. I was hyperfocused and still came in 2nd. I got jittery towards the end and the Huayra passed me just before the finish. But I'm dominating this game way faster than I did the last only time. Shift 2 is unlike any other NFS game. Very challenging on a whole 'nother level. I wish I can play with a wheel. Been using the controller this whole time 🤷♂️
That was the most disgusting and sloppy run I've ever seen on the Nurburgring in all my years playing sim racers. Perfection. and very entertaining. Well done. :) (Lol at the crash at the end.)

Definitely wanna try and get back into this game. Put it down for the longest time because I got over 90% completion and then got a corrupt game save that put me back at 0%.
It sucks that EA cancelled shift 3 right as slightly mad were working on it, a game with 2 Unleasheds sense of speed and a better physics model would of put Gran Turismo and Forza to shame
Shift and shift 2 runied me for how racing games NEED to feel in the cockpit on console. Forza and especially Gran turismo just feel so sterile in comparison. Most of the same team that made these games made project cars, but even pcars and its sequels paled in comparison to just how visceral and exciting shift 1 and 2 were. I mean, fuck, the dev team LITERALLY strapped cameras to racers helmets irl and used that data to replicate the feeling in game.
For real tho, why can't anyone replicate this Godlike helmet cam quality ? It feels and looks so realistic and it's stupidly immersive, the sense of power speed and fear are increased to a whole new level and it's completely spoiled me and made me almost dislike any cockpit view in recent games that isn't even close to this, every time I see videos of people playing Forza or GT the cockpit is so boring and unexciting, it feels like you are just walking with how it looks so perfect and sterile, no movement or fluidity or depth of field just feels like I am looking at a wall.

Honestly I want a big city based racing game with this cockpit camera work alongside a realistic to a limit handling model (where going 50-70 mph in an innercity freeway actually feels fast like it does in real life) and where you have to be around 20-30-40 mph to make those sharp neighborhood turns and the camera reflects that. Like those assetto corsa videos from Vegetable Studio where your car actually has weight but it can be improved to a certain degree.
Aside from the AI being all over the place, this game does have some *_INSANE_* immersion going on around the cockpit - the G-force working against your vision, the car throwing you around in the seat like a mad bull, you can almost feel it all through the screen!
This game is very terrifying. Full Nurburgring at night when you finally pass the guy in first and then choke near the end against a wall and dude passes you. This is like Through the Fire and Flames on expert in Need For Speed form
EA probably regrets it that they discontinued the shift series lol i mean this game is still better Sim races today(this game is a simcade) The sense of speed, difficulties Wow AMAZING

This and the R8's V10 swapped RS4 were obscenely quick, to the point it is unrealistic (over 2000hp with all upgrades) And yet, it was so satisfying to handle these monsters. V10 Supra was also the GOAT on drift events

Patch 1.2, is made by another modder by the name, Railgun. This mod overhauls the driving physics, rebalance car performances, and completely redone the tuning, so it has more capability like Forza-esque, which in Vanilla Shift 2 lacks of.
The sense of speed and over exaugurated physics hit so hard even with just watching this video, really wish car games could go back to this, great video :)

Although it is fun to slide around the corners, this has repercussions as well. Some cars have horrible driving model, resulting a really tail-happy car.
