Had to come back & let you know I'm starting to have luck on the white bass and small wipers! Been using mostly the same setup (I use stops and alternate between a fixed & sliding float) around a local dam, and the ol' bobby garland has been getting a little love! Still trying to learn drifting, but it's coming along 💪🎣
Oooh thank you boss! I've been looking around for a jig & bobber setup to try as I dip my toes into white bass fishing, and I've been wondering if my crappie magnets might finally come in handy (I've never had a crappie bite one, but crappie smash my trout magnets 🤷)! I'll have to give this a go in the morning.
@@eFishin afraid I had to cancel the morning session, but nothing could possibly stop us tomorrow morning! Will absolutely bring some updates 🎣 (might be a bit early for 'em from the bank here in IL, spring's being a bit shy this year!)
So far it's a tough rig for 30-40mph winds, but I think anything's tough in winds like this 😂 Things are finally calming down tomorrow, and I'll be out with a handful of new rigs I'm working with!
@@bjcox6695 I'm ready for this wind to calm down too. It was a solid 25-35 and some crazy gusts today. I walked outside and turned right around and went back inside the house.
@@eFishin there should finally be some good spring weather coming up in the next couple of weeks! May we both find fair weather and some HOGS soon! 💪🎣 I'll let you know how things develop with the jig & bobber rig as I keep working with it; I think I'm early for the white bass here, but it's my first time going for 'em so there's a lot of uncertainty. 🤷 We'll figure 'em out!
Sometimes you can pop it pretty hard and work it all the way back pretty aggressively, then there is days where you will barely pop it and let it sit there for a coupe of seconds. The best thing to do experiment with different retrieves and see what works. If there are other folks fishing around you and they are catching fish and you are not, watch them and see if you can figure out what they are doing.
White bass are some of my favorite fish to catch ... They fight so hard and the bite is hot when you get on them
They are fun to catch, especially when you get into pile of them.

That’s awesome!! Look at some floats just for drift fishing.

How hard do you need to work the jig

What state are you in?
Most of my fishing is in KY, but I venture down to TN some too.
Were you down on river or palmer road fishing?
