nice job. My buddy got a couple Tanfoglios in a trade this one and the next one up. he was just going to trade them but after shooting them he had to keep them. I was looking to add a new pistol and was thinking xdm 5.25 but saw thw WEM and remembered what a great gun it was. For the same $ the Tang is the way to go. I knew they weren't very well know but figured id check YT to see what te word on the street was. Thanks for the informative review.
I bought one at my local gun shop for $550 for the 45 cal and it came with a .22cal lr slide so its two guns in one, and you can buy other cal slides for it
I own a 9mm witness, and indeed they are solid guns. When I ordered it and it was delivered to my ffl, he had no clue what it was and said he never heard of them. No clue why people don't know about these. Damn solid guns, and a very good price.
I had an old CZ 97 made in 1999 that would not feed flat nose or hollow point bullets (models after 2013 don't have this problem.) Do these Tanfoglios have this issue at all?
Absolutely stole mine on GB, previous owner had attempted to re-blue the Wonder finish, end result is a dull pewter, not really well done. As you can't shoot the shine, I picked mine up for 285 plus FFL and shipping, everything through the door under 350.00. Added two more mags for about 30 each, the best shooting .45 ACP I own. My last trip to the range, best 10 round group was 2 3/8" at 10 yards, not bad for a big heavy .45 and my skillset.
Steve Tau technically a better overall design. Even Jeff cooper liked it. And if they had been available in .45 acp or 10mm before he passed im guessing he would have probably preferred it over the 1911. These pistols usually out shoot 1911s that cost hundreds more. As much as id like to have a nice 1911, i really cant justify it when i can get one of these for a hell of a lot less in about any caliber i want, and i get all of what a 1911 offers plus higher capacity and generally better accuracy.
Hey Silver what are the main differences between your model, and this one I am linking. The model your showing I can get for around $600 is it worth the extra $150 to get that model as oppose to this one. thanks. www.laymansgunshop.com/product.tanfoglio-witness-by-eaa-full-size-steel-45-acp-45-101-rubber-grip-wonder-finish
The model you've linked to is the "Witness Steel" , which has a barrel .25" shorter then the Elite you see above .It also has fixed front and windage only rear, so if you can make the cost work, id reccommend the Match. You can add the mag release & safety to the cheaper Witness steel, but its gonna cost you more then $150.00 Hope that helps!
I had one in a compensated 45 auto; absolutely great shooting pistols! I never missed with it, and it never jammed. My only drawbacks were the rear sight cut into my side, and the weight was akin to carrying an anvil. I had to sell it to get a new toy, but I'd rather have it back, than the stupid P7 M-13 that took it's place!

While I must state a preference for the 1911, I do like this weapon. Very sweet, indeed.

monke turns human invention into paw gun.
VERY GOOD I LOVE I WANT
EAA 38 SUPER @THAILAND
Bargain enhanced 1911? Definitely. In the hands of an experienced shooter this gun will hold its own against any 1911... period.
That is a CZ 75 clone. Not anywhere near the 1911.
Steve Tau technically better than a 1911.
CZ and tanfoglio share the same machine shop I believe

$600??? I've seen these guns going for $800-$900 in Texas.
What's up with the title of this video obviously not a 1911 style gun
Robert Bogan I think these are double action also...................almost positive !!
The elite match is single action but I think you can carry it cocked and locked like 1911
Yes you can carry like a 45 SA , but it has to be a SAO pistol only from factory !! Yeah its a nice option to carry in SA if you wish !!
+Jason Broadhurst ELITE match is sao.
