    I have a friend named Carl Johnson living in Grove Street. It's scary going there. Lot of gang wars happen there. If a police car is chasing you ,just spray paint your vehicle and you're safe af.

    I live in South Africa and 100% agree that the Cape Flats is a dodgy place, I myself have actually driven past a police shootout on the outskirts of the town. Although the Cape flats is a violent place most of the violence is to do with drugs. I would not recommend visiting the Cape Flats, but it is defiantly not a death sentence. Despite this Cape Town is a beautiful place that you should by all means visit it, just avoid the flats. :)

I've also lived north of Patterson Park on Rose St (why are bad streets always named something nice?) and while yes, you will hear gunshots at night, you dont snitch on anyone there, you'll be just fine. Its not stranger crime you have to worry about. It IS a problem if you've got a habit, or if you're drug running. THEN its a whole different game. And then yes, if I had a drug problem, and I was looking or fiending, then yah, trouble will find you.

    I lived in Jamaica when I was younger. I was 6 when my mother and my grandma were having a cookout with the other neighbors, then the gunshots started. Tbh I wasn't very scared because gunshots were a usual thing. (that was extremely bad that a 6 year old thought gunshots were normal) It took us a little bit of time until we noticed that the gunshots were only two houses away. My mom told me to go inside and stay there until she came to get me. I hid under the covers in her bed for about 20 minutes before she came. Every night or every other night, cops and soldiers marched the streets. Everyone was ordered to stay inside and we had a curfew.

    Back in the 1980s, Kennesaw Georgia was one of the most dangerous cities in America. The government took a wild approach known as 'The Kennesaw experiment'. Let's say, it was a great success within 5 years. The city government mandated that if you live in the city, you MUST own a firearm. The experiment proved the old adage 'an armed society is a polite society'.

      El salvador is part of north america. Not south. And central america is not recognized as a continent. But the fact that its atributed to south america instead of north i believe might be a stereo type rooted in racist ignorance.

    • @alexgiron9524
      @alexgiron9524 3 года назад

      @Jean. B. B because I think that conclusion is made solely by the fact that most of south america speaks a latin based language. So its clumped with the south american continent even though clearly maps that are divided by continents show other wise. Kinda like the believe that muslim people are all from the radical countries. Or how latin americans will call every asian person "chino". They are stereo types based on peoples ethnicities, language, or religion. Im not saying its necessarily hate, I meant more like a narcissist type of racism. But I digress, its mainly just ignorance. I was racist my self with that comment, since I say it from my own experience of traveling around the world, western europeans and americans normaly are bad at geography while the rest of the world generaly isnt. I made that conclusion because it seems like a trait that is region locked. Didnt mean to sound hateful, just annoyed.

    Hey! I'm from San Pedro Sula and I confirm what was said. Although crime rates have dropped in the past decade, the city is still veryy dangerous. However, like any other city in the world, it's not completely bad. Stay away from the dangerous/gang-controlled territories and you'll be fine. The majority of crime occurs in the same areas, so it's easy to avoid it. If you have any questions for me, I'll be happy to reply!

    Every remotely major city in the US and abroad has bad streets you don't want to go down especially at night. The key is if the locals tell you not to go somewhere (while traveling) don't. They know the area, you most likely don't. And if you do (or must) go through a bad area, at least try to go during daylight hours and/or with a group of people.

    Awe I love tijuana and the local spots more then the tourist spots. I've been going to tj and baja since I was a kid. Before covid I was there weekly, and makes me so sad I haven't gone recently. But I love that I live so close to the boarder and able to cross whenever. Mini-vacations or for dental work. My insurance covers my dentist there and they are partnered with Scripps. So noooo not some shady dentist, that you can even find in the states.
