The late, great Miles Davis often said, “She [Chaka] sings like my horn.” And the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin says, “[Chaka] is a one- of- a -kind, premier vocalist.”
I used to listen to this when I was 63, and now I'm 17. This will forever be a classic.

😂 I was 6! But I’m 56 now and still loving this jam! Happier than ever with husband of 24 years! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I was 14 too! Born in 1960? Giant bell bottoms and platform shoes. That was a great time! Been married for 45 years and life is still fun!
I'm pretty sure this is in the Guinness book of records as the funkiest song there ever was in the whole world.
Not too sure, the Ohio Players gave it some competition with "Funky Worm". 😎😎😎👍👍👍
It was written by Stevie Wonder.
Mas Funkadelic
It's pretty funky

Dear Chaka,
I am in 8th grade and i have a theater class. Every day we do something called good news where everyone shares something good. And every day we sing this song to start it off. Its cool!

She's frikn stunning ! A gorgeous long lean strong figure with epic long big lioness type hair and the voice capability to invoke a great pure smooth clean sound AND a nice soul Sista sound. Epic Queen!!!!
Timeless!!! She'd still be huge if she came out today.

In 1974 I was a 19 yr old young woman. One night I walked into a male friends house, Rufus on tv (OGWT, I think)- 6 fellas were glued to the gloriously beautiful Chaka, fronting Rufus & singing this song.
I loved the song & still, today, listening to this track, brings that fireside vision of them absolutely frozen in time, watching Chaka belt out this track!!
Chaka, you’ve got it, the voice, music & All!!!
ps night in Tunisia also shows her adaptability,
Janie.
Luv Chaka
I LOVE this. Been enjoying it for about 50 yrs. My trenage self loved Stevie Wonder's compositions. It has to be for CHAKA!
This song takes me back to Junior High! I just became a senior citizen 2 days ago. Time certainly does fly right on by!!
No doubt Chaka Khan was brought from Heaven to Earth. Oh Lord, what a Voice!

Good lord this song blew us all away back then! Magical song, magical time. Thank you Chaka!
Stevie wonder is incredible adding his production to this song these tunes are amazing 👏🏾🔥 ..
Yup, its gotta be Chaka Khan and Prince for musical sensation of the decade. They ARE the cream.
I saw them in concert together in the 90’s! Best concert ever!
You are still beautiful Chaka. all of us ladies wish we could have aged as well as you have. So happy we can still enjoy your voice today . May God bless and keep you safe.
I love the original live performance and you start scatting at the end, I was like she was doing jazz even back then. For the record, when I compliment 70's Chaka, I'm complimenting Rufus as well!
Hahaha you DO start scatin’ yeah! 😂
Nothing can match or surpass this caliber of song of how she did this song.
Natural talent and beauty!!!❤ Yasssss Mrs. Khan!!!!
I was 17 years old in ‘99 and I went four years without a haircut because of this song,I miss my fro

One of the greatest songs ever composed, most definitely my favorite Chaka Khan song 🎶
Written by Stevie Wonder.
Legend + Queen = Ms. Chaka Khan💜
The Queen of Funk!!!
Amen!!!!
🔥🔥🔥 It was 1974 and my first year of high school at Dunbar Voc. in Chicago and this song was playing during our lunch period and we all just had to get up and start doing the bump. Thanks for the memories.💋🎤💖
Hahaha... just listened to Earth Wind and Fire and thought of the Bump! But boy did I love this one too!
First heard this one during lunch break while building a hog barn on the Indiana prairie. Intoxicating, you could not ignore it.
When Music was Music
Brings back the best childhood memories. I would love to see Chaka live again. Glad she's coming to Brooklyn November 7th. This is one of her best! 💖💖

Dear Chaka, you are legendary, and your music is immortal 🌹👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Beautiful woman inside and out. A Chicago native with a lovely voice!! Still listening in 2021
She got that smile that lights up the whole room
I'm 42, she got me in the 80's with I feel for you. Then I discovered her other songs, I got a Chaka wig, bell bottoms and a halter tops. You couldn't tell me nothing, I defiantly was inspired.
A fabulous Stevie Wonders composition - with fire and funk from Rufus & The High Priestess, Chaka Khan.
My father used to LOSE IT when I played this nd Chaka sang "I'll make u wish there were 48hrs to each day" 😅 My mom would be so tickled sayn "as if"! 🤣 miss them so much, TY Rufus n Chaka, good memories ❤

JaneR
Love this song. We need to get back to the basics in the music industry
One of the great vocalist❤
Chtěl bych této krásné zpěvačce Chaka Khan, kterou ji mám rád kvůli její roztomilé povaze při zpěvu,napsat dopis ( nechci nikoho urazit) , protože si myslím, že je to moje šance ji pochválit jak má zlaté srdce, umí dobře zpivat a skvělé řemeslo ovládá po celý život.🌴🥥🎶
This is one of my favorite jams by her hands down! It probably can't hold a candle to her 2020 NBA ALLSTAR National Anthem...but it's damn close.
This song remind me of my high school days, so much fun and liberty. I had an incredible life.
Sister Chaka Khan so dynamic & beautiful too.
Her lovely hair deserves lots and lots of love.
Sister Chaka is our divine queen.
Goddess for damn sure! What a queen!
🤩🤩🤩 I first heard this song as a child and I LOVED it then and I still love it now! If I had been born in the 50s I would've been young in the 70s! The best time for cultural revolution. 🎉
Amazing, the 70 was the best time and music, you can dance too, enjoy watching Soul Train and American Bandstand. The singers had real talent.
The world is so cynical now
Man. I always loved this song. I like all kinds of music but hard rock is my favorite. I saw Chaka Kahn live about 20 years ago. Chaka and the band killed it. They were tight. I remember the guitarist rolling around on his back during his solo. One of the best concerts I've seen. Chaka, Whitney Houston and Janis Joplin are my favorite female singers. This is real music.
Brazil, São Paulo, Butantã...
"Adoro você e suas obras"
In the 70s on rock radio we heard black rock musicians like Hendrix and Phil Lynott, but never R&B. Then funk came along and they snuck some Stevie Wonder and AWB into the mix. And of course this gem! Glorious time.
They were one of the few concerts I went to back in the day that I didn't get all blistered up partying with it and I enjoyed it immensely!
What a beautiful voice!
THE VIBE ON THIS TUNE I SWEAR
Your native American designed costume fits well! Plus, it looks great on you. I especially like the outfit you wore on the "Rufus featuring Chaka Khan" album. Not only did it look great, it also looks comfortable.
Haaaay yaaal she is telling it to all men. Woooooo..she did go with the.....the white guy playing the organ .smile he told her it was good.ser how she moves closer to him near the end of the song.he is smiling at her through the entire song. smile.. queen Ms freda.
