my personal favourite way to get good even lighting is to shine a very bright light at the ceiling and let it defuse the light for you. one of those portable work lights for job sites will do, you might be able to find those with reasonable colour reproduction?
oh. also, to get stability with this style stand use sandbags, or get a light stand with a hook on the bottom end of the pole to hang a weight from. also, you can get sand bags designed for weighing down gazebos that might work.
Yes. Have used it a few times. If you need one where there isn't power I highly recommend getting the bigger batteries and you need two as it doesn't turn on with one. If you need it often also a twin charger or fast charger.

Recommend you try to get about 5000 kelvin as that is a good colour to use for recording, my guess is probably 3/4 on the 5600 and 1/4 of 3600
