- 남성 보컬 트리오 라스트가 신곡 'Scent of Love'로 돌아왔다.
CCM 시장에 그룹이 점점 사라져가고, 남성 트리오, 남성 듀엣조차 찾아보기 힘든 시점에 남성 트리오 라스트의 신곡은 반가운 소식이 아닐 수 없다. 라스트는 'Light And SalT' 그들 팀 네임의 의미처럼 마지막 때에 세상 가운데 빛과 소금이 되기 위해 끊임없이 노력하고, 도전하고 있다. 이번 신곡 'Scent of Love' 역시 그 노력의 산물이다.
신곡 'Scent of Love'는 그들의 여섯 번째 싱글음반인 '향기'의 영어버전이다. '향기'는 현재 캐나다에 있는 라스트의 전 멤버 이실라 전도사의 고백으로 복음의 향기가 되어 온 열방을 향해 퍼져나간다는 의미를 담고 있다. 라스트 그들이 매 집회마다 선포하는 고백이다.
'오직 성령이 너희에게 임하시면 너희가 권능을 받고 예루살렘과 온 유대와 사마리아와 땅끝까지 이르러 내 증인이 되리라 하시니라.' (사도행전 1:8)
'예수 그리스도의 복음을 입은 모두가 복음의 향기가 되어 열방을 향해 퍼져나가길 원한다.' 라스트가 자신들의 곡을 영어로 번역 발표하는 이유이기도 하다. '전능하신 나의 주 하나님은'의 영어버전 'My Lord God Almight' 발매 이후 두번 째로 발표하는 'Scent of Love'는 영어권의 사람들에게 이질감 없이 다가갈 수 있도록 영어화라는 데에서 완성도와 숙련도에 그 깊이를 더했다.
이 곡은 특별히 라스트가 호주 투어 때 연을 맺은 Gemma Kim이 마음을 담아 번역 작업을 맡았다. 이 뿐 아니라 곡의 퀄리티를 높이기 위해 한국을 방문해 보컬 디렉팅까지 참여해 발음코칭을 도왔다.
라스트 그들의 열방을 향한 노력과 외침은 멈추지 않을 것이다. 그들의 삶을 통해 예수 그리스도의 향기가 흘러넘치기 바라고 기대한다.
