good too the first few comments are as mature as they are u could tell whose the bboy to whose the eboy. They both did real nice. No winner and i liked how lil kev not only challenged the kid but he didn't underestimate him then again lil kev was like him at that age. Kid will see what style within his skill will do for him in the future. Lil Kev taught him well.
@hakura88 Do you recall Omar? Back in 2004, his forte was mostly powermoves and he won Red Bull BC One. End was another powermove who got to semifinals, which is pretty good ranking for someone who can only execute intense powermoves.
Keep in mind, the only moves that Bboys took from gymnastics, are Flares, and Airflares. There are still a ton of other moves that Bboys made, like baby-mills, windmills, elbow-flares, spinning air-chair, crickets/UFO's, etc.
Define dance, and then we can decide whether he's a dancer or not. Power-Moves are one aspect of Bboying that some decide to "major" in. Just because you just do power-moves, doesn't mean that you're not a bboy, or that you aren't a dancer.
I wish we had a time machine to bring early age of Lil Ceng and put him against Pocket. Would've been interesting and be a respectable, great battle. This battle between Pocket and Lil Kev was no match. Pocket just creamed him so bad.
@bboynaturalEMT True, true, i agree it is debatable. I see it as analagous to lifting vs running. You need breaks for both, but you cannot lift nearly as often as you can run. I can see your POV, certainly. I see a tonna bboys with huge upperbodies, planching and all that, but with tiny ass legs. There's a guy in my crew who can bench bodyweight+40 but hasn't done a squat in his life. If you're that kind of build, its possible that footwork is too stressful. Really depends on the person
To all the people who are hating on Pockets style, if you are a bboy you'd understand that its alot harder to pick up powermoves the older you get, we have an 8 year old bboy in our crew called monster were training him up to be a power head and his own style is developing through it, but if these young gunz have power before thier teenagers its a hell of alot easier learning footwork than it is immense power like pocket so give him a break hes dope!
@pureownshard It really depends. It trues that you cant CONSTENTLY practice power on a single day and this is why breaks are important, as well as stretching before and after. But most of the part in power comes from understanding the actual body motion, getting over the fear, and then do it a few times (a lot of time in fact.) But footwork is a totally different thing, it's actual creativity, and that, theres no "fixed" amount of training, it's all about your creativity. So it's debatable...
Come on...Lil Kev is older now so obviously hes more mature and has developed some style of his own. Pockets still a kid so some concepts to him will be viewed differently compared to a more matured person. I don't think anyone killed anyone here. This felt more like an opening for Pocket to explore new territories in bboying.
Why are people complaining that a 12 year old doesnt have much style? Style comes with experience which comes with time.. Obviously, being 12 years old, he hasnt had that time and experience to develop his style. Also, to be honest, who would expect a 12 year old powermover? Thats why people cheer so much when he comes out, its a great tactic for MoO.. It gets alot of attention and more fans
He's 14, I'm too and i make powermoves, top rocks and freezes ! When Lil Kev was younger (in IBE 2005) he knew toprocks ! Breakdance is 85% Dance, FootWork, TopRock, Freeze and 15% Powermoves ! When you make only powermoves you're not a bboy you're gymnast ! The feeling is the most important thing when you dance and if you think otherwise you must stop bboying ! I'm not jealous of Pocket, he's better than me but he can't dance. Stop talking if you don't know.
@Ryeeshy man lets say that lil kevis a tricks and beat killing bboy and pocket is a powermover, to see if a bboy is better or not from diferent styles is not from their moves, but it is from how they use it and when they use it (if it is in the beat)
@Pinakamabuti pocket clearly only shows power moves, he's yet to show any styles or popping rather i would like to see him do that. i mean power moves are one technique but if he picks up the rest he is a prodigy in the making
Is it just me, or was Lil Kev better? More complex moves perfectly synced to the beat, whereas Pocket was just making a human tornado of himself without any rhythm to it.
@pureownshard Not true, in fact footowork is far more complicated to learn then powermove. Powermove = repeating the same move over and over again until you get it Footwork = Learning to fit all those power you learned somewhere between the mess of your legs, all while folowing the beat, and keeping it fresh because no one wants to see you doing 5 spins of 6 step.
Seeing Pocket now, he will kill the beat but what you don't understand is that if he was to qualify for red bull and that, he wouldn't win. Powermoves is not everything. Bboying is mostly Style & footwork but thats not the point. Express yourself which is what bboying is about. Pocket now does the same set which is why he wouldn't win much and his height which is kinda why he can go faster
If everyone focused on footwork and toprock, you can bet your ass that power would be considered more difficult. Just cause something is popular doesn't mean its any less difficult. It just means people are willing to go further for the same amount of reward.
morelli tech u french bro? lol gymnastics? do u even lift? was lil kev dancing in terms of your "gymnastics" standard? if u wanna call powermoves gymnastics, everything else should fall into category of acrobatic dance other then toprock
I get your point but the truth is that Powermovers have a style. Some do some moves better that others and they enfazice on those moves. Look at Cico, he's a powermover by soul. But he's dope. He's moves are clean. Its not which moves you make, is how you make the moves. Pocket was 13 and he started breakin at 10, 3 years in. He didn't had a style back then Now he's better. Many powermovers make the same move. But they do it differently. that's what really important. Sorry if my is english bad.
crowd didn't like lil kev XD but he had good, unique style also true pocket may only have power but footwork is a lot easier to develop then power and itll come with time lil kev also seemed to be trying way too hard, always trying to show off more after his set was done, and just got schooled by pocket's power
@bboynaturalEMT I disagree. You can only practice power every day for so long before your arms and body give out. Toprock/Footwork you can practice all day, you can even practice after you can't do anymore power. I understand where you're comin from. But there are a lotta people who focus on power, so it makes it seem as if those who focus on footwork are rarer, hence the belief that the skill is more difficult.
@yowattyup lol you have to appreciate breaking, to an outsider, you can say that about anything you could say anything is boring and repetitive if you go at it the right way, like you could say hip hop songs are boring, beat is always near the same, rythm doesnt vary, or games, predictable, all you do is shoot things race things and level up. if you look at it like that anything can be boring and monotone :O. go watch the movie planet bboy, hopefully it'll teach you whats good about bboy xD
@pureownshard Oh and also, true footwork is exausting bro... Look at a bboy's face after a "footwork" battle. It's quite the exausting shit. I can't footwork "all day", I definitly need breaks during my footwork competitions. And most of the bboy do. A good example is bboy taisuke during BC One 2008. He faced 3 powerheads, and was footworking most of the time (a part from maybe 1 or 2 power per battle) And you can clearly see that he was dead in the final.
i give pocket props but i wouldnt say he won given this really wasnt a battle between the two....he was very reppettive, im just sayin kev did more..... both were dope
Based on this vid I don't think pocket "kills" lil kev. lil kev was more diverse and had some decent styles, whereas pocket came with almost none (in this vid). sure pocket slighted the victory but i wouldn't say this one was a blow out.
I think some people are not bgging up pocket as they should i think hes great i think style is important but he can develop that. when people are kids they want to be the fastest and do all the power btw i think lil kev is good but dont u think he has too little respect? he seems to always barge in when other people are on the floor
Pocket creamed Lil Kev. And do not talk about musicality and foundation. Both of them were competing directly powermove for powermove. Pocket came out on top. Pocket just creamed that cocky sob.
bro, crazy legs never say "powermoves is not a dance" , if powermoves is not a dance, why people makes backspin and continous backspin, why benny kimoto make airflare, bboy is free , no matter who you are,
its getting boring watching pocket. same old stuff. gymnastics only and no style. there are bboys out there who do style plus power who dont get the props they deserve
KIRKILLER38 same moves? He's been hitting double handed air flares, one handed airflares and has a bunch of new shit lol, maybe if you stopped watching shit you first started watching, maybe you'd see.
jongsong86 you probably just watch power moves. bboying is better when they work the beat or they show diversity in their style. he just keeps on spinning doing airflares. he has no style and only does footwork for a few seconds
ur so jealous of doing pocket's powermoves XD he's just a little kid so he would eventually get his own style. it's sad u will never do powermoves, not even close, while pocket will get the feeling like it's nothing
If this were a real battle between these guys lil kev would won this easy by using toprock footwork and other stuff.. pocket is like cico and if you notice cico dont win battles because of not using basics .. so to clear this up pocket did defently NOT kill him in no way :)
Pocket can't own a legend he was 6 years before pocket on ibe and won a lot of trophys. Kev would smoke pocket any time he want. Im not saying pocket is bad or something, he is acutally a fucking beast. But Kev mixes flexible tricky moves with powermoves its really really difficult to do those kind of moves. So i dont see a reason he should be better than kev for real maria just go against the wall and think of what you did wrong right now.
stop bringing the style and power bullshit! style is only one elemnt of bboying.. and people from new york doing that bullshit. i can see it alot... here... in NYC... 5 Crew Dynasty Breakin' Nest
It's like a painter saying that a sculptor isn't an artist. They're all bboys. They all focus on different aspects.
BOTH DOPE. but great win pocket
Yep. Even now. Its like you know what he's going to do
lil kev got STYLE man!!!!
good too the first few comments are as mature as they are u could tell whose the bboy to whose the eboy. They both did real nice. No winner and i liked how lil kev not only challenged the kid but he didn't underestimate him then again lil kev was like him at that age. Kid will see what style within his skill will do for him in the future. Lil Kev taught him well.
so how do we get out there... this is so cold to me... I wont to see it live
@hakura88
Do you recall Omar? Back in 2004, his forte was mostly powermoves and he won Red Bull BC One. End was another powermove who got to semifinals, which is pretty good ranking for someone who can only execute intense powermoves.
lmao i love how all the koreans all so protective over pocket
Keep in mind, the only moves that Bboys took from gymnastics, are Flares, and Airflares. There are still a ton of other moves that Bboys made, like baby-mills, windmills, elbow-flares, spinning air-chair, crickets/UFO's, etc.

lil kev is supreme
uploader is either 15 years old or just started breaking 2 weeks ago
@ldraney you know why he doesnt wear shoes?? it probably just fly away cos his airflares are too fast..
i think b-boy pocket got a lot of style. he is doing power combo moves that no body have seen and was original
I wish we had a time machine to bring early age of Lil Ceng and put him against Pocket. Would've been interesting and be a respectable, great battle. This battle between Pocket and Lil Kev was no match. Pocket just creamed him so bad.

watch pocket now! in 2012, he kill the beat a LOT more than 2009
That's like saying," if you don't eat every single animal, you're not a carnivore*" pocket's a beast end of story. Don't get jealous.
hahahahaha wtf XD
In all seriousness, lil kevs power is obviously a LOT cleaner.
Thats undeniable.
@pureownshard It really depends. It trues that you cant CONSTENTLY practice power on a single day and this is why breaks are important, as well as stretching before and after.

lil kev vs pocket
more style vs crazy power move? : )
both of them owned eachother LOL
pocket's power moves get a little boring because there's no variety, but the first time i saw him i was like WOWOWOW.
Come on...Lil Kev is older now so obviously hes more mature and has developed some style of his own. Pockets still a kid so some concepts to him will be viewed differently compared to a more matured person. I don't think anyone killed anyone here. oh shit pocket a hecho footworks
Wow. Kids learn fast.
He's 14, I'm too and i make powermoves, top rocks and freezes ! When Lil Kev was younger (in IBE 2005) he knew toprocks ! Breakdance is 85% Dance, FootWork, TopRock, Freeze and 15% Powermoves ! @wxyztu np, but i think we all can agree that these guys are dope and i would kill to be half as good as them :)
omg lil kev has more style man, bboying is dancing and not only gymnastic, respect to pocket and lil kev.
pocket has a lot of times to improve his toprocks and footworks.
pocket got crazy speed
to me they tie...lil kev brings more style in his moves...while pocket brings just powermoves
@Ryeeshy man lets say that lil kevis a tricks and beat killing bboy and pocket is a powermover, to see if a bboy is better or not from diferent styles is not from their moves, but it is from how they use it and when they use it (if it is in the beat)

lil kev is better pocket.. because he is more complet wish power moves and freezas and footwork.. bboy pocket is very good in moves

@pkloopy3 Can't blame him haha. If I had powermoves like that at THAT AGE, my ego would be just the same if not bigger lol.
Lol even though pocket smoked lil kev, kev still killed it with the head swipes
on lil kevs vs pocket
lil kevs powermoves looks cleaner
If everyone focused on footwork and toprock, you can bet your ass that power would be considered more difficult. Just cause something is popular doesn't mean its any less difficult. It just means people are willing to go further for the same amount of reward.
Obviously, in 2009 pocket was like 13 years old
Lil Kev is a dancer, a bboy. Lil Pocket make only powermoves and has no feeling, no dance.
I'm sorry, but until I see pocket do anything other than gymnastics, I will not consider him a dancer. Don't get me wrong, he's #1 in power for sure.
morelli tech u french bro? lol gymnastics? do u even lift? was lil kev dancing in terms of your "gymnastics" standard? if u wanna call powermoves gymnastics, everything else should fall into category of acrobatic dance other then toprock
TheUnknownMartin not footwork
You must not know breakdance...
Lol just noticed Differ pushed Pocket real hard @0:38

IS BBOY POCKET EXTREME CREW??

and itll come with time
lil kev also seemed to be trying way too hard, always trying to show off more after his set was done, and just got schooled by pocket's power
@shellx13 dizzy69 did..... and plus. Pocket is in my Crew.
lil kev was definitely chocking
if these were judged...
lil kev took it both hands down
pocket's bit younger tho isn't he? :p
lil kev is like a frikin pinnochio(spelled right?).
honestly lil kev had better sets
pocket brought out some dope power though
why cant win a powermover redbullbcone? because powermoves are not ALL ! Break Dance is a Dance
Lil kev es mas técnico y mayor variedad de pasos y movimiento es mas fluido que pocket que también es bueno pero lil kev es mas completo
@bboynaturalEMT I disagree. You can only practice power every day for so long before your arms and body give out. Toprock/Footwork you can practice all day, you can even practice after you can't do anymore power.

true. i think people overreact cause pocket is a little kid.
Lil Kev killed pocket. The same 3 moves get old after a while....
@pureownshard Oh and also, true footwork is exausting bro... Look at a bboy's face after a "footwork" battle. It's quite the exausting shit. @kidruff21 yee word.
Pocket creamed Lil Kev. And do not talk about musicality and foundation. Both of them were competing directly powermove for powermove. Pocket came out on top. Pocket just creamed that cocky sob.
@wxyztu Dude i like pocket over lil kev too, but no offense, you're kind of ruining the video with your arguments
lik kev has better style, but like the title says pocket kills at power considering that he's 14!
estubo serioooo
but im sorry bro, powermoves doesnt mean youre not a dancer :)
Slower=Cleaner?
to me lil kev is better because all pocket always does airflares. dont get me wrong pocket is good but kev is better

pocket all day
lil kev is the winner
pockets ill but he does the same moves every time. lil kev mixes it up more. pockets moves r ill though
to all of you saying lil kev has style... pfft.
seriously c'mon?
@zZDarkTrioZz Bboy Differ from T.I.P
its getting boring watching pocket. same old stuff. gymnastics only and no style. there are bboys out there who do style plus power who dont get the props they deserve
KIRKILLER38 MUHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA
u bored of him?
he doesn't FUCKING there to please you
u better watch 1Direction
they there to please you XD

As long as he battles pocket, yes :)
pocket beat menno and i'm sure as hell menno would smoke lil kev lmao
Nope nobody of them would kill or smoke lil kev
what if its a powermove battle lol
stop bringing the style and power bullshit! style is only one elemnt of bboying.. and people from new york doing that bullshit. i can see it alot... here... in NYC...
5 Crew Dynasty
Breakin' Nest
lil kev is better
hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
asian dope! ha ha ha
idiot lil kev
