I think from this video, I can say that trying to be super tidy has more downsides than benefits. You've found a way to trick your mind, allowing yourself to be 'messy' while getting things done every day without feeling guilty.
Wow, that's a very interesting takeaway that I never even considered. Maybe the great thing is being able to be 'messy' when needed to make sure that you still get things done?
@@ollystaniland I strongly believe that sometimes you are on the street doing your thing, and then you have an idea you must write down. But your brain is holding you back because, before writing it down, you need to find the perfect, tidy, good-looking way to organize your perfect notepad, and you can’t just "write," right? With your chaos journal, you can just be yourself and write it in the way that makes sense, never losing an idea, which is indeed what matters most. Writing it down is often more relevant than the method you use to write. Maybe one day you'll stop using your pretty journal and stick only with the chaos one.
@DigWaker I think your chaos journal can have just data and maybe single, random thoughts, probably in a shorthand you can only understand today, but your clarity journal will be evaluated, reflected and fully written out so that you could reference later.
@@ollystaniland One bigger "clarity" journal with more detailed thoughts, daily journal and plans, one smaller "chaos" journal for tasks, what comes to my mind ad-hock. For projects digital note app, and digital to-do app for work (chaos journal without this will be too chaotic :D). BTW, nice video, I took your schema from clarity jorunal, it's nice tactic, we willl se how it will go for longer time, thanks! One idea, maybe at the end of the videos you can do something like small recap, to clear knowledge :)
@@DataTechFlow That sounds very similar to my system and it's great to hear you've been having a lot of success with it! I am curious about how you use your digital apps though.... Thanks for the kind words and it's fantastic to hear you are having success with my clarity journal. :)
Ymmv but that's why I moved from a trad bullet journal to a traveler's notebook* style setup. Messy ideas in one journal, somewhat better formed ideas in another. I wanted my ideas pages long after the BuJo was done. Anyway, nice video! Having a messy space and defined/filtered space is one of many ways to make this stuff work. *Travelers Notebooks are expensive. If that's holding you back, just get small cheap notebooks to bring around or just try the inserts w/o a cover. If it doesn't get messed up, it's not getting used.
Wow, that sounds like we have a somewhat similar system! I did have to google what a travellers notebook is but oh my they are so pretty! Really old-school kind of vibe to them. Glad to hear we have a similar approach when it comes to journaling and making it work :)
the answer is actually the bullet journal method by ryder carrol. it’s a fantastic way to log and plan your day about intention and reflection. in general the key to journaling is a review process. you need to work with what you wrote down, reflect on it and organize it to make it useful. ❤
That's a great point about having a review process! I agree that it' super important to have time to reflect on what you write down and the trajectory of your life :)

The mission statement has been a GAME-CHANGER, Miah. Thanks for the support as always :)
journals are the way.
SO TRUE, Nicco!!
Please share the video of your motivation journal.
That's a great suggestion! Be sure to look out for that video in the next couple of weeks :)
I use the similar tactics, I wonder how you do it!
What tactics do you use? How similar are they to mine :)
