Ashton does somewhat unpoint her feet at times(that's OK because it's basically impossible to be fully extended through the feet at all times) but yeah her keeping them fully pointed during her jaeger was really nice. She also caught it with almost completely straight arms - you don't see that a lot either.
You think it's impossible to have fully extended legs, feet and toes all the time. Well go watch Viktoria Komova on bars, she can do the impossible. :D

I do not know why Marta made that face. I do not like that you can tell she favors Kocian more but Ashton . But Ashton beat her at the last 2 meets. Good thing Terin Humprey is there to fight for girls who deserves a chance. The scores talk. Give her a chance at Rio Marttttttta.
there was never a chance. I don't recall ever having NBC show Ashton's family in the crowd (unlike Madison's parents) which prob meant Marta had no desire because she can't do vault and floor in even it would be needed (like an injury after the period when alternates are not allowed).

Aliya would have beaten her easily, Ashton maybe would have been 5th. Ashton didnt upgrade her skills, and unfortunately international judges are harder in execution than US judges. Asthin is overscored on US soil, she needed to upgrade to get higher difficulty scores but played it safe and it cost her.
no doubt Martha wants an Olympic gold medal on uneven bars before she retires. I believe this will be the force behind her taking a specialist, since we have 4 girls EASY who can score big enough on all 4 events. remember, she's calculating the numbers for team finals and can afford to put Ashton on beam.
Great routine but if she doesn't upgrade, the spot on the olympic team will go to Kocian as a specialist on bars, since Ashton will never get a 9.450 execution score at the olympics.
While the scores are more lenient than they'll be in Rio, they're still proportional. Ashton will still get a higher E score than Madison internationally.
rene ruiz I don’t have to dream. Gabby got a 9.266 (Kocian got a 9.166 LOL) execution score. Locklear has noticeably better execution than Gabby. Therefore, it’s only common sense that she’d get a higher execution score, which would be right around 9.450. She easily has the best overall execution in recent history.

They would never actually award a 9.5 execution score on bars, even if locklear had a routine that was supposedly 2-3 tenths better than Gabby's.
I know right? She has been teasing upgrades for two years and has not incorporated a single one into competition. If she makes the team, it is literally just for bars and considering Madison scores higher and is stronger on beam, Locklear has just about no chance snagging the specialist position. If she would upgrade, she just might. I mean honestly what does she have to lose by not throwing every skill she can? She's not going to make the team with this routine; that is for sure.

its so she has a better understanding on when to let go of the bar on the dismount so she can have a good landing and her chest will be up.
Team USA can win even without her as bar specialist. So if she will not upgrade then No Olympics for her.
