I believe a huge part of how you play an idol is how you decide to hide it and reveal it, and she did a great job not revealing she had it. To be fair with the idol, the safety without power, and immunity wins she only could be voted out like 3 times since the merge at all, and only before final 9 but that’s another story
When Caroline said “You shocked me how brilliantly you played that idol” I was in disbelief. I mean, what do you expect her to do? Everyone openly confessed they were voting for her, it would’ve been her if she didn’t play her idol, nobody knew she had one, and it was like the most obvious time to ever play an idol and yet Caroline was all shocked by it. Like dude, what else is she gonna do, let herself get voted out with an idol in her pocket for some reason? Like duh she is gonna play her idol, it’s not some shocking play.
It’s moreso the fact that she kept that idol a secret. In the new era in particular, it tends to be quite obvious who has an idol thanks to all the tasks players are given in beware advantages. The jury likely expected any remaining idols in the game to be somewhat public information and were shocked when Rachel revealed her idol after everyone was so confident in seeing her torch get snuffed
that was the way she played the idol - Rachel has talked about how she got the players to pitch her game to the jury at tribal council, knowing that she wasn't going home. I think that is very smart
i have to say i wanted sam to win but i can definetly see how good rachel played and deserved to win
I love how chill and quite Kyle is with his confessional for Sam to win 😂
"they say Rome wasn't built in a day, but your game sure was destroyed in one"
so was his ego with that comment damn
