Trades are where it’s at!!! I do heavy haul trucking, work for a dirt work company, move d8s, 390s etc, wouldn’t trade it for an office job.

$15 is less than miniumn wage here in Cali that wont happen here with a MMI cert...But if it was me and i had MMI cert...I would just work out of my Garage for Cash under the table...

I believe most dealers pay $18 in California, less than McDonalds. Eventually the mechanics who cap out, move out the shop and start their own thing if $35 per hour isn’t enough. And it’s definitely not in 2024 👍

Worst decision I ever made going to that tech farm 😅… got a few lucky breaks, and now I have a nice desk job that allows me to afford the bikes I once worked on. Could have very easily ended up like a lot of motorcycle techs making scraps for big dealerships.

True, dealer labor rate is $180 while they pay their techs $15 per hour. And in this economy, you’re not earning a living with $15-$30 per hour.

Yep, eventually you’ll have to switch careers to afford basic necessities in 2024.

Yep, and that’s after financing $30k- $60k in with MMI. You can earn more with UPS with good benefits and annual leave.
