What a requiem! A glorious score from such an underrated and misunderstood film. Bleak, hopeless, sad, nihilistic - why should space and the future be all happy endings? Life is often not. Musically, this is great, and as a wannabe composer and classically trained musician myself, I love what Goldenthal did with this whole score. But here, at 1.23 its announced: "this is it", there is a 20sec delay for it to sink in and then at 1.43 it hits you, and then 20sec later again at 2.03 is 'the moment'. The solo trumpet at 3.38 is a lovely tie-in across the trilogy also. It should've been left there - no crossover films, no Resurrection - and no prequels.
I honestly love this variety of the aliens. The way it moves, the way it gets the kill, and how it always has that pissed off mood whenever it runs around. Such lethal perfection.

That's Alien³'s thing; it's dour, as dour as Alien is scary and Aliens is exciting. A refreshingly bold franchise movie - seemingly disinterested in generating repeat viewings.
The saddest part is that this was an amazing scene and perfect end to the Alien franchise... It just had a lackluster movie building up to it.
THIS MOVIE IS A MASTERPIECE! IT JUST GOT UNDERATED BY ACTION FANS WHO WERE EXPECTING FOR MORE GUNS AND EXPLOSIONS SINCE ALIEN 2.
MASTERPIECE!
The kind of music Schopenhauer would listen to.
tears in the rain
This one always makes me cry!
2:05 NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Best movie in the franchise, no hesitation.
i'll go second :)
Fuck yes! This movie was disgustingly UNDER-rated. It was literally the darkest and most dramatic film in the franchise, had the best acting, the soundtrack was a fucking Masterpiece, And the ending was just EPIC. Alien 3 was the PERFECT conclusion to the franchise. The only reason it got so much shit was because it wasn't a typical Hollywood action film like the second movie (which was amazing by the way).
Aliens was the best in series, but i actually prefer Alien 3 Assembly cut over Alien, it so sad and dark.
+1 this movie was the shit. It deserved better reception.
Views aside, this series is not for the faint of heart haha,
Elliot Goldenthal made a great job, very good and emotional soundtruck, I love the music when Ripley die
I get chills everytime I hear this piece.
EPIIIIIIIIC !!!!!!! Best soundtrack for one of the most saddest movie scene ever . REALY LOVE IT
best soundtrack aliens ever
2:04 the moment the ALIEN franchise should have ended, as I feel this was the epic finale it was leading up to and the music is pure beauty.
God this music just makes the ending so good, I specifically like when the queen emerges from Ripley she holds it as if it is her child as they die together.
amazing soundtrack!
The third film may not have been great but no one can argue about great music.
2:06 - I can still hear Bishop 2 screaming "NOOOOOO!!!" after all these years. Great ending to a great trilogy. Should have stayed that way if you ask me.
What a amazing soundtrack,32 years later its still great.
That moment at 2:04... Pure composer talent!
No doubt that fit the scene perfectly
What a masterpiece! Unbelievable ! Eliot Goldenthal is a fucking genius !!!
I see this movie in theater when I was a little boy I was so impress by this movie !
Say what you want about the film itself (I love it, personally; as dour as Alien is scary and Aliens is exciting), Alien³'s score is the best of the series, hands down.
incomprehensible how the piece at 1:30 flows into that deeper feel @ 1:40. and then after, how it stacks, let's go and stacks again...
The first piece of music to make me cry in a cinema. I was 13 years old.
exelent movie and beautyful soundtrack for a epic nightmare.
Alien 3 might not be the best installment of the franchise, but the soundtrack is KILLER.
JurassicToys2000 I have to agree with you on that. The movie was ok but it had a phenomenal soundtrack!
1:22 the most depressing part
2:38 Always get emotional
Sameeee
Love Alien 3 sae much. ah can remember seeing it at the cinema like yesterday .
And this, this is how you end a trilogy.
Excellent score and it screams bravery sacrifice, and heroism from Ripely who been through a lot dealing with the Xenomorphs.
Just having a beer, sitting watching stars and enjoying this masterpiece, wondering what the fuk is going on there...
Best soundtrack ending to a film ever! Encapsulates everything about the ending perfectly!
one of the most powerful death scenes ever
Is it just me or was the creature in this move really elegant?
Yeah, the way they did it was weird too... Its not a CGI alien, its animatronic but I think its a composite image though. but it worked, super creepy!
I honestly love this variety of the aliens. The way it moves, the way it gets the kill, and how it always has that pissed off mood whenever it runs around. Such lethal perfection.
Elegant..and also the biggest and nastiest of the lot, (save for her majesty) a fitting final villain for Ripley to face.
I like the Special Edition cut except for the fact they don't have the Queen bursting from her chest, and Ripley holding it in place.
+Jonah Falcon Also they replaced the dog with a cow? The xenomorph resembles a dog more than it does a cow so the change doesnt make sense
+TELEPOTATOE - in the book it was an ox.
Square The Circle Yeah but in the film they should have just kept the dog...
The chest burst scene would've just proved she had no choice in the matter and she would've died anyway.
But... she didn't have a choice either way.
Couldn’t believe they killed Hicks & newt so easily after surviving everything they did in Aliens.
Neither could Cameron... then he partook in a movie which kills off John Connor in the first five minutes 🤷🏻♂️
This piece almost ends on a funeral salute theme
