Super excited! So what's the deal at Alta, you can board if you skin it up but not allowed to ride the chairs, (when opened)? Any skiers give you any grief?
Found your channel while getting ready for my trip to snowbird next week. I’ve ridden Brighton & park city but not snowbird - that changes next Monday! Diggin your channel so far, keep it up!
Yay, first comment! Also, it looks like you had fun. I have been enjoying the snow a lot here in the Salt Lake Valley. I enjoy your vids, keep of the work!
Yes! Inspiration to get a splitboard or maybe a ski touring setup! We're lockdown here in Scotland... So hike in only! Fingers crossed we can open soon and hit the local hills and Alps etc! Great vid! Have a good season bruh! 😎👌
Thank you! I feel your pain bro! Splitboards are great. If you do get into touring, get some backcountry education if you’re in any mountains that can avalanche. It’s more important than the gear. Have a great safe season!
Nice dude, look like great sessions. We’re in Mammoth for opening weekend, super stoked. I think we’re going to visit out to Utah a little earlier this year. 🤞🏾 Keep on posting that inspiration brotha.
Just wanted to say your content is sick! I just found you today (heading to park city next week) and I'm loving watching all your videos. Your channel is gonna blow up for sure, keep it going!
Сплитборд - это полная свобода👍, это возможность катать даже там где нет никакой инфраструктуры, в абсолютно диких местах. У меня сплитборд уже 2 года, до этого 2 года ходил на складных лыжах, которые убирались в рюкзак
THIS IS AMAZING! I can’t wait to get back up on the slopes. I wish I could go to alta and hike it. but I live in utah county and i’m a boarder. but anyways great vid keep it up! 🤘🏼🤘🏼
Wow, from nothing to pow days in no time. Can't wait to see the Bird and Alta for the 1st time ever. Looking forward to the season, just need to get rid of the 20lbs I've gained during covid.
I got that same dc jacket but last year's. I love it, sympatech is definitely comparable to goretech. I didn't know you could just hike up the resorts, I wanna try this
Are you serious!?!? Just an other ILM-Green Screen-Powder video, you should get a job at Lucasfilm Ltd! :D Just kiddin'! One of the sickest preseason vids so far. Super nice new gear and good to see the whole crew back! Stay safe and healthy!
It does surprisingly well as long as you keep it low and close enough to see it. Sensors go crazy tho so don’t depend on them and make sure you have full batteries and a strong signal.
Any concern of avy danger? Did you check the avy forecast, slope angles? Do you know if patrol had started avy mitigation? It may be good for your followers to know that just because you're at a ski area doesn't mean it can't slide if no control work has been done. Similar risks can exist as riding on closed terrain when the resort is open or in the backcountry.
Very good point. You’re right. Since avy forecasting & mitigation had not started yet (first storm of the season) we stayed on groomers and slopes less than 30 degrees with nothing above us greater than 25 degrees. I have a video in the pipeline addressing safety for uphill travel in and out of bounds. Thanks for the feedback! I could’ve spoken on it more clearly in this one.
Looks awesome! I just finished building my own DIY splitboard, super excited to take it out for the first time. I have the build videos up on my channel if you're interested! Any advice for the first time up? I'm reading a watching a lot of content on backcountry travel and safety. Mostly curious about tips and tricks that make life easier on the uphill process!
That’s awesome!! Props to you! Best advice I can give is don’t go by yourself. Go with someone who has experience judging Avy terrain and risk management. Also make sure you have a beacon/probe/shovel and have practiced using them! If you’re skining up a resort groomer then you’ll probably be ok without those items but I would still take them if it were me. One big tip is if you’re doing any steeper parts uphill, don’t let your skis get too far behind you that you can’t keep weight on your heels. If it’s icy at all, you will slide backwards and it’s not fun. Believe me, haha. Be safe, keep it mellow for the first tour and have fun!!
@@BoredProgression Hey thanks for the quick reply! That's a great tip on skinning, I don't think I would have got that-seems a bit counter intuitive. I am thinking I will start in bounds for sure until I find some partners that are experienced as well. Hope your season is lovely!
Hey Dan, super great video! I've always been interested in starting some hiking for Snowboarding and stuff. But I don't know anything about safety and where to go. What advice do you have for staying safe and also where you need different safety gear? A video talking about up hill hiking and backcountry would be so sick!
Loving your content bro! Kudos to flying that mavic 2 in a snow storm. I have the same Drone but have been too nervous to fly it when it's dumping. Curious if everything was OK with it when you got it back?
Hey, man. Coming out your way in about a month for the Winter season! Getting my gear together now. I was looking at a small, 12L Dakine pack. I figured lighter the better. You got yourself a 36L pack! Should I be concerned I only got a 12? lol
12 is pretty small. It depends on what you are planning to put in it, but I wouldn’t want anything smaller than the 22. A 12 you can fit a spare layer, a few snacks, your goggles and maybe a tool or a few other small things. But that’s probably it.
It was legendary up there! I’ve been up grizzly twice already and it feels like the middle of December. So insane. On a side note, what are your thoughts on the unions vs the voile speed rails? Keep up the sick vids!
Thanks dude! I’d love to hit grizzly soon but waiting till the Avy danger goes down. I can’t speak for the voille’s because I haven’t tried them but I love the unions. I’ve heard nothing else comes close to the surfy ride downhill.
@@BoredProgression yeah fs I’ve heard the unions feel like a surf board. Hopefully we get a consistent base layer this year, I don’t know what I’ll do if the resorts close and avy danger stays red all winter. Keep doing snow dances!
Great stuff!!! What's your thought on the bindings? i'm trying to decide between a pair of Sparks and the Unions. I've heard about there being some play on the ride down in the older union models, have you felt any?
I love my bindings. The original expeditions had that problem but they’ve improved them. No play at all and they feel like a normal snowboard binding. Just make sure you get the current expedition (2.0) if you get unions.
😂. Actually, before the chair lifts start spinning, everyone is pretty supportive because we’re all earning our turns. When Alta opens officially Karen makes her appearance.
Amazing! May the mountain gods bless this season with massive amounts of powder and provide safety to everyone. Amen!
Amen!!
Awesome clip, thanks a lot!!! So stoked after watching. Have a great winter 🤙
Thanks man! Lots more to come. Stay tuned!!
The stoke is on another level! Awesome video brother. Can't wait for the next one!
Yeeeeew!!! Me too!
It’s looking promising! That got me pumped.
Mahalos
Awesome dude!
LET THE GAMES BEGIN!
🏆 🎉📣
Couldn’t be more excited, this vid really hypes me up
That’s what I like to hear!! 👏
Love it! Great footage from the Mavic Air 2, can’t say I’m bold enough to fly in snow like that with mine!
It’s a little nerve racking to be honest. 😂. I saw someone else do it tho.
YESS! I can't wait!!
🙌🙌🙌
Who else is excited???
Super excited! So what's the deal at Alta, you can board if you skin it up but not allowed to ride the chairs, (when opened)? Any skiers give you any grief?
Overstoked!!
So excited 🤟🤟
Fired up!!!
Can't wait for the Bird to open!!!!!
Found your channel while getting ready for my trip to snowbird next week. I’ve ridden Brighton & park city but not snowbird - that changes next Monday! Diggin your channel so far, keep it up!
Sick! I hope we get some snow while you’re here! The bird is at its best when it’s deep! Thanks fir the kind words!
YEAH BUDDY GET YOU SOME! Always good content bro!👍🏻 Coming home this weekend and hoping to get some turns in!
Sick!! Thanks man. They closed uphill to Alta tho. Avy danger is pretty bad so stay safe & low angle if you do any hiking.
I've been working on a house at The Canyons watching it dump for the last couple of days. I'm beyond stoked!
It’s hard not to be!
Yay, first comment! Also, it looks like you had fun. I have been enjoying the snow a lot here in the Salt Lake Valley. I enjoy your vids, keep of the work!
Yeeew!! It’s been beautiful. Thanks man. Will do!
Dan you fired it back up! Way to go. Nice to see. C-ya at the Bird this year
Yeewww! Looking forward to it! 🤙
Congrats on making 3k!!! I wish you the best!
Thanks man!! 🙏

Utah County fam!
Hey I live in utah and I'm stoked about the snow were getting I just hope there's much more to come
Yeewww! Me too dude!
Yoooo im excited
🙌🙌🙌
sweet video, i'm also taking up snowboarding this year, dude
Hell yeah!! Have a blast! Don’t be afraid to fall!!
Was worried I wasn’t going to get my hands on a pass to Brighton this year, but got a job there Friday. Super stoked! Hope to see you up there!
Nice score!! 👏👏👏🙌

Haha. Hiking will get you in shape!
I'm counting down the days until I finally get to park city in jan. Can't wait!!!!
So sick!!
we got 60 inches of storm snow hitting mount hood!!!! it wont stop
Nice!!! 🤘
Nice early season run!
Thank you bro!
I got that same dc jacket but last year's. I love it, sympatech is definitely comparable to goretech. I didn't know you could just hike up the resorts, I wanna try this
Nice! Well you can’t at all of them. In fact alta just closed uphill so we can’t right now. Check with your local resort.
INSANE!!!! Much better than riding BigSnow..LOL Missing the canyons!
Haha. Big Snow is still pretty awesome. Especially in August or September
Yeah dude!
🤘yeeeew

Bahaha. 🤣. When I was in college ILM would have been my dream job!! Thanks man.
how are you able to get up there and snowboard before the opening day?
Uphill travel was allowed, but it’s not right now.
I have a new Mavic Air 2 as well. How does it do flying in the snow? Havent had a chance to test it out. Any tips?

Great idea Jared! Best thing you can do is ask your local resort if it’s allowed and then stay on a groomer if it is. That’s the best place to start.
Loving your content bro! Kudos to flying that mavic 2 in a snow storm. I have the same Drone but have been too nervous to fly it when it's dumping. Curious if everything was OK with it when you got it back?
So far so good! Done it twice. It’s a bit nerve racking tho and I don’t fly it farther than I can see it.
@@BoredProgression good to know! Might have to risk it sometime. Super cool shots!
What poles did you get? Looking for some that will fit into my pack
Black Diamond Expedition 3 poles. They might fit in a backpack if it's a taller one.

How scary was it flying that drone in the snow storm?
A little scary for sure! But this is the 3rd time I’ve done it. 1st time was pucker factor. 😂
🔥
🔥❄️🔥❄️
I wonder if heaven looks anything like Utah...
It might! 😂
Yewwwwww!!!
🙌🙌🙌whooo!
They only allow skis... then proceeds to hike up in skis.... you should have tried to get on the lift in the ski configuration of your splitboard! lol
🤦♂️ 1. Preseason (lifts not open)
2. They look for splitboards, so no I’m not gonna waste $160 on a lift ticket they won’t let me use.
Oh! my bad,,, didnt have the volume turned up, was just watching you hit the powder... great video though! keep them coming!
No worries man! Thanks for watching. ✌️
did alta Karens give you a hard time snowboarding?
😂. Actually, before the chair lifts start spinning, everyone is pretty supportive because we’re all earning our turns. When Alta opens officially Karen makes her appearance.
