This video was timely for me. I have been wrestling with the map just a bit, trying to figure some things out so this video was helpful to me at the right time. I am still having trouble with expanded (in and out) views on the standard map. Mine with only magnify in to a certain extent or expand out to a certain extent. I am trying to get more proficient working with waypoints and this map problem is hindering me. I cannot magnify in nearly enough to look at my spatial orientation between waypoints. The thought recently occurred to me that it may be that I am not connected to the internet when I am out in the field trying to work with this stuff. Does it need to be connected to the internet to have full function(s) on the map? I have also noticed a few other comments in the same area of interest. A little help would be appreciated.
Interesting and helpful video - one important point to make - the DJI Flysafe Zone mapping - whilst eminently sensible and better reflecting real safety concerns - is NOT the authoritative guide to airspace in Canada. Only guides to airspace nature provided by the Drone Pilot Canada app, the National Research Council's Drone Site Selection tool and NAV CANADA's clunky Nav Drone app have the correct zone details that allow proper flight planning.
Thanks for pointing this out. You are completely right and I discuss this important fact in my beginners tutorials for both the DJI mini 3 pro as well as the DJI mini 4 pro.
From California, Clovis! Love your accent and presentations!! My first drone Mini 3 pro arrives in couple days so I'm absorbing your videos. Retired pastor, God bless. Oh, I'm 76 years
Thanks for all the excellent instruction! I've been in and out of flying drones since 2013 or so with the DJI phantoms. One flew away, one ditched in the ocean before the follow me option was a "thing." I experienced the dreaded wobble of death while in a quick descent too close to the deck. My bad lol. A chopper pilot in my Army unit then told me about the dreaded Vortex ring state. Hind site 20/20 and $1200 later I'm still sitting on a phantom 4 I havent used in years after replacing the wifi card. Now I'm all in with this Mini 4 pro. It makes the Phantoms seem like a flying Polariod camera lol. Honestly you are the best I've seen when it comes to instructing piloting and cinematic aspects of this little spaceship. (I took your advice to grab the DJI insurace as well.). Cheers man and strong work!
Thank you so so much. That was so nice to read. You really made my day. I’m so grateful for your donation. It really makes a big difference. I hope you will enjoy all my future content as well, and that you will get lots of fun out of your DJI mini 4 pro. 🥳👍😁
Thnx for sharing, however DJI geofencing and or definitions of NFZ/TFR zones isn't reliable a single bit. But it's worth investigating the real time restrictions w localized map repositories from airspace authorities 😅😅❤
Thank You - I know there was a way to turn off warning zones. Have inactive but still showing air strip that causes the warning zone to come up. Now off.
At 1:01 you say you don't have a satallite view because you don't have a link to your phone. So I went to try to figure out how to link to my android phone to get satallite views. I can setup a WiFi hotspot on my phone and connect that way. That should work. But of course that means turning on the phone's hotspot before flying and probably more important, remembering to turn it off when done. But I also noticed I can establish a Bluetooth connection to my phone. I did that also, but the slider to permit an internet connection does not work. Why, I don't know. No clue what the Bluetooth connection is good for with no internet connection. So what are the advantages of a) connecting the RC-2 to a phone and b) which is better, a WiFi hotspot or Bluetooth connection? This might be a good topic suggestion for a video by you. I could find very little information out there with most of my Google searches coming back with info about downloading maps to the RC-2 for offline use, which is not the info I was looking for. Cheers!
I've connected my RC2 to my Android phone using the phones WiFi Hotspot, and that gives the RC2 an internet connection. Interesting re the Bluetooth connection as I've used that to give an aging Tom-Tom access to the internet so it work with the RC2. Maybe another firmware update...
Thanks for watching!

Finally, searched for a long time, now I know what the second icon means. Thanks

I have the same problem when trying to connect an iPhone. A video about this would be very helpful.

Thank you very much. Best wishes for 2024.
Being away from my drones for some time.... Does this apply to other controllers like the RC and/or RC pro?
Yes the DJI fly app is the same an all their controllers.in RC Pro you can fly with 3rd party apps also tho.
@@MK-Creator Thanks! Haven't even been thinking about 3rd party software and what it offers. Something You might show in a future video?
@Stefan_Boerjesson would suggest this video:

Excellent! Straight to the point. You are the best!
Great Info - Are these icons also presented on the DJI Mini Pro 3 ?
Hello, Yes the Mini 3 Pro map icons are the same.
It’s the same in almost all DJI drones.
Can you do a video about Remote ID?
Thank you :)
Thanks Mats. Another great job. Right to the point!
