  • Earlier, I used a Marines F/A-18C to go clear SAM Sites that were protecting a bridge (SA-8, SA-6 and SA-3). Now, I will take my AV-8B and try to go hit a bridge with MK-83s. The bridge is probably protected by AAA so I'll try to hit it, and we'll see if it's safe to try for secondary targets after... If you are not watching this LIVE, think of this mission as a training flight... There were many errors with switches again and pilot errors, but it was probably enjoyable to watch! ENJOY!

Always nice to see someone flying AV8-b at lest tell the DCS core moves on to a point that the AV8-b scripting totally brakes. Not going to fill up comments with a bunch of do this do that. But a thing i picked up after a long time flying the plane was the NWS switch on the left panel. Switch it down to NWS and then you will have always on NWS with the Stick NWS button activating the High Gain NWS. With that you can make a 360 turn on the spot. Just to remember to switch it off before final taxi.

Thanks for the comment! I'll have to check that option with the NWS - it looks quite interesting! My mistake in this video when it didn't seem to work was due to the landing gear switch being in the "up" position as I later found out. After the flight, I went on to read a bit about the radio. I realised many controls can be activated similarly to the F/A-18C on the UFC. Eventually I should be able to get up to date on the AV-8B! 😁

I found the NWS switch and you were right, you can turn on a dime with that. Probably quite useful on a helicopter carrier! 😎👍

At the 45 min mark. Think you ran into a issue with DCS and bombs. They some times will go up over the plane in a dive if you are not pulling up at the time of drop. They explode on clipping you plane.

Yes, I usually try to pull on the stick and turn away when dropping bombs, but I believe it was a case of "collision with MK-83" in this somewhat crazy maneuver I pulled trying to bomb that AAA position. 😅 **EDIT: I went to check my tacview from last night and I confirm it seems to have been a collision. Instead of dropping the bomb while pulling up, I pulled up after release which resulted in a bomb strike. My plane and the bombs detonated all at the same time.**
