Really great work my bro!! I lifted pads on that power port when trying to install the usbc mod. Like 3 pads so I’m still trying to figure that one out. The trace runs under the port that is supposed to sit flush to the pcb so in order to put it back the wire I’ll be crushed. Idk lol - I’ll try something soon. Nice vid!! 😊
And yeah. Ive repaired on like that before, trick is to use super thin wire, and put it through the via hole on the other side of the board, and solder it to the via on the other side. That way it doesnt cause a ball of solder to be in the way of the charge port underneath.
Thank you ! I’m really new at this. I was trying to replace my screen on my GBA SP. I was doing pretty okay but somehow the Q12B pad got pulled by the cable and the pad now is gone. I don’t know how to fix it. A video about this would be really helpful for all of us who are new. Thank you!
Currently attempting to make a circuit board repair ~ replacing a relay solenoid for a "start" button ~ and I'm not sure what I'm looking at here: Started to solder a new 4 pin solenoid onto the board after removing toasted one and 3 of the circuit board holes have normal tiny circular donuts that the pins fit through but the 4th hole does not appear to have that... Instead, the pin is sticking up through a piece of composite matting material and I don't see the usual tiny metal grommet / donut the pin usually would be sticking up through ~ it's just poking through like a strip of fibrous composite stuff that appears to be built into the circuit board. Anyone have any idea what I'm looking at here? Am I just supposed to apply solder onto this mess and hope for the best or what? Why doesn't 4th hole simply have the usual little metal ring that's built into the board? Trying my best not to have to spend $1400 on a new dryer. Thx.
0:41 You say you are replacing a ripped solder pad, but it is not at all clear where the ripped pad is. You go straight into scraping/cleaning a pad (a) that is clearly intact. I'm guessing you are trying to connect (a) the pad you are cleaning to (b) the pad right above the C56 marking, and that the ripped pad AND WIRE was in the dark area between (a) and (b). Is that correct? 1:42 whoa you are jumping too fast here. What is the relation between the component you suddenly bring into the picture and the missing pad (which by the way looks like it is really a missing pad AND a wire in between the two other pads)? To me it looks like the component is soldered at C56, and then the wire is added on from (a) no to (b) but to the pin of the component. Yes?
40:00 yes you are correct its hard yo see, my bad I should of zoomed in on the area atleast a couple of seconds. And it is ripped/broken, its the dark area.
You make this look so easy. I feel personally called out with the ips screen mod😂 thanks for the vid!!
Not really difficult if you solder few things
Lol nah, Im sure we all have done this at a certain point. And no problem! ")
Cool!, super intricate work, great skills you have there :) your channel deserves many many more subs and views 👏
Thank you ")
Dude, thank you so much. I just finished modding my gc controller mobo and then I broke one of the pads for the cable, and this worked and fixed it!
Nice vid, thanks! Just saved my Sega Game Gear! I ripped off a pad when replacing the cap. Thanks so much!!!!😁

@@retrostashrepairs dam thanks bro! This sounds pretty good! I’ll give it a try thanks :b
I got a keyboard I'm upgrading and screwed up some pads, this is going to be a huge help.
Plsss tell me how, I didn't understand a thing. My keyboard has a via and the whole goddamn thing just popped off when I was soldering new switches
This is so helpful! I destroyed my 2 DS macro mods because I ripped off the pads 😂 now I can fix them

No problem! And yeah I can make one specifically on that soon ")
@@retrostashrepairs awesome!
How do you trace witch pin the broken pad connects to?
the closest one check continuity w/ multimeter
Very carefully lol
Nice video ❤
Which tester is that?
is it safe to assume this would also apply to a lifted pad on the volume slider
I got my answers on this wideo, thank you wery much
What is the iron wire name you used to connect them.
Its just bare copper wire I got online "). I believe its 30 or 32 awg
Does this also apply to the battery soldering pad when lifted up in a gba cart
Yes it does/can. Theres other better ways for that, but more complex. But you can use this method as well, especially if your a beginner. ")
Hey Miguel! Hope you're doing well, just letting you know I saw an AGS101 screen on Mercari with a broken ribbon cable for $10 if you want it.
Awesome! Thank you for letting me know! 😊👍 much appreciated
do i need to fix the under pad too " other side ?? or just one side
What do you exactly mean? 🤔
That is nuts!
tysm bro, it really help
Sorry for asking but what soldering iron it's that?
Its the usb c TS80P soldering iron ") its a nice one. Works with a battery bank or a usb wall adapter.
@@retrostashrepairs thanks brother for the info 😊

Sorry still getting used to the editing world.
And that component is the charging port. It was previously removed to repair the broken pad/trace.
❤
I ducked up a solder pad swapping out the left trigger, mostly being lazy and dumb lmao
Horrible trabajo !! Cables enormes para esas pistas pequeñas. mal mal mal...
