    There are also other types of gyzhak. I know of two, the one you see here with four main courses similar to kamancheh, and the Balouchi version that in addition to it's main strings is fitted with many smaller sypathetic strings to fill out the sound. I would guess that the gyzhak you see here is an innovation on the folk one to suit the needs of an orchestra.

    one is gyzhak the big one is bamzhak. Used for bass like a cello.

    Do you know that in India, they have also the Gyzhak but with Sympathetic strings.

    But today there are 2 types of Oud in Iran: Persian Oud and Barbat. But the Gyzhak is a folk instrument and not part of an Orchestra?!

    thats not Oud dear,thats called Barbat which is a very old Iranian inststrument and has diffrences from Oud.....
