Right?! Isn't it just a stupid good time?! That Kona N is SO freaking good. It's like a little flea... that has the Infinity gauntlet. What a ridiculous machine, but I kinda love it. Great opening shot, by the way!
Very nice! I drove one and was impressed too! You really need to drive a 2023 Sonata N line! I just bought one and its just STUPID FAST! 290hp/311tq! With launch control. I just wish it had the E-LSD like this Kona! Cant wait to see you drive one!
@@danieljohnallen - Some genius has started an internet rumor that Hyundai is discontinuing their N products. That would really be shooting themselves in the foot, though. Anyway, Hyundai already has the 2024 models on the drawing boards...
when the GR86 came out it was really hard to find a manual in my region most of the dealerships had automatics. These N huyndais Definitely have better DCT/automatic transmissions as far as daily/fun driving. Plus they come with full/options. If i didnt get an i3 as a daily/gas saver. I would definitely consider a Kona N with 18" wheels and some lowering springs. For the price its really hard to beat esp if you value your daily commute and often deal with west coast/cali traffic the automatic will be welcomed in the city/highway gridlock while you finally get to open it up on the road/canyon
be nice to know about things you can't look up online, like how tall you are? and how did the headspace feel? don't focus on stuff that is easy to look up,.
Hey, hey, hey! Whada'ya mean @7:27 "entry-level crossover"? Where do you get "entry-level" from, anyway?? There's way too many features for any N or N-Line Hyundai to be called entry-level. Seriously, dude!
We don't recall stating it was on the rear, Shawn McDonald. Where did you notice the mistake so we can dock the offending party their share of Twizzlers.
It was actually a gift from my wife, Jack, and I'm not sure where she got it from (and I doubt she remembers), but she'll be pleased you like it. Thanks for watching!

It needs premium.Regular gas will have it lose a bunch of HP and can gunk up the engine. Will it ruin the car short term--no--but I own one and it says in the manual to use premium and there are kona and veloster forums and techs are in some of these and one gave an explanatin--the engine will retard timing and other things and when it does that it tails back the HP.
@@khronin No. It does not NEED premium. I have a Veloster N. It runs just fine on regular with very little difference when I run 93. The timing retard is not very noticeable. A bit in the high rev range. Use what you like, but in Pennsylvania the difference between 87 and 91 is around $.60 a gallon. Not worth it based on my driving. I still get 27 to 28 mpg on back roads. On the highway 30+ mpg on 87. I ran 87 in the BK1 in my Genesis Coupe 2.0T and the engine ran fine and never had a problem.
@@arthurmroyce It says in my manual to use premium and if you use 87--which burns cooler and dirtier--you can build up carbon deposits. One of the kona forums has a tech that described it as well as on one on the stinger forums.I alrready had premium gas budgeted when i bought this and thats what i am sticking to--and you may not notice a diffrence but if you dynoed it you would be down HP.

I love my Kona N but my one complain is that it doesn't have wireless android auto. For to have wireless charging but can't use it because you need to wire connect the phone and gets stuck when you put the car in park.
I will say on my regular Kona, it does have android auto wirelessly, but if zi leave the phone in the car and turn it off, it will disconnect upon turning the car back on. Maps is the most notorious issue in my previous experience
it's the screen size. For some reason their larger screens are not compatible with wireless car apps. The smaller screens do work with wireless car apps
Buyers BEWARE!!!! Has anyone actually drove one when the weather gets colder..... you hear & feel clunking sound coming from the front end, steering, tires whatever. Brought it to the dealership, did some research and I am told it is the cold weather WHAT - REALLY!!!!!! Has to do with the cold and winter weather affecting tires, steering etc. If I had known this I would never have bought this car. I am buying 4 snow tires and rims and hopefully this problem resolves!
Same experience from my side, I but only happens if I press the accelator all the way down if the car is starting from 0km/h then I'll get that sound and torque sterring while the front left wheel spins. It only does that when the road is wet. I also took it to the dealership and was told the same explanation. I also tried the car in normal mode and eco mode, it seems to only do that in sport or N mode. Please let me know how the new tires behave
it comes stock with Pirelli summer track tires lol should have known that when you bought it. I changed them to continental all-season tires the day after, it is fine.
Roof rails can sometimes be noisy. So best to leave them off unless you need them. Non powered driver seat is cheap. It should at least be an option. On cross-countries, you changer drivers so it would be nice for the main driver to relax and refresh during the break. I would definitely check the box on an option list.
It's crazy how Hyundai is giving us so many affordable options of fun cars (Veloster N, Kona N, Elantra N). Whatever your preference, they have something for you. Thanks for watching, R. Brown! 💪🏾

The Kona is the faster, lighter one of the two. They share the SAME engine!!
They don't have the same engine! This has a 2.0t and the sonata N line has a 2.5t!
this thing is underrated
Awesome video!
These are really cool cars
Shame they're discontinuing them
