This whole trip was fun to watch, but especially this russian leg was AWESOME. The original Epic Drive. ;) Thanks for filming it for us guys.. and really, you should go to the remote places of Russia again in one of the following Epic Drive videos. Beautiful and spectacular country. =)
please we want more trips via Russia That's the kind of shows I like watching especially the trip through Russia we do not get many videos of that area . looks like a great fishing destination
@flynmid engine, trans and everything else is stock tho and its good to see it can handle a bit of water, a bit of height some rough goings. interior and exterior pieces held up well, awd didnt pull a crapper or malfunction when the going got tough and it would be impossible without the suspension as the height just isnt high enough. its not an offroader, its still tuned for the road. i mean even stis with their "rally" suspension would need to be upgraded before any serious rallying
So it seems they switched the pair of Kizashis somewhere along the journey. I have both VINs for them and when they were serviced in Aug 2010, the CA Tag 6LXD433 Kizashi had 4987 miles. The CA Tag 6LXD432 had 5766 miles. So they did not run the entire Tokyo - LA run concurrently. A bit misleading. However a true testament to the Kizashi's engineering. I'm not seeing any further history on these VINs, so not sure where they are today.
Great video guys. I think you're finally getting. WE LOVE CARS but we want to be entertained too .... eg. TOP GEAR ....err most popular TV show on planet earth... nicely shot chaps! Sure it's hard to get the personalities and you just can't say the thinks on public TV that Clarkson says but this is very well done.
On those river crossings how did they keep the water out the engines on the Kizashi's? I own one. The air intake sits right above the radiator near the driver's headlight. The water was going well above that.
@eskil1u why would you take an H1? the weight of the truck would kill it..take a jeep any jeep ( not the compass or patriot) and some run flats..or just a jeep ZJ with eith quadra trac or selec trac and call it a day. you wont have any problems, get good gas milage which you also didnt configure into ur "plan" and ride in comfort/luxary
This is great. And it was recorded 9 years ago...

The 2nd Kizashi was only introduced when the crew arrived in Russia- the Japan stint solely ran 1 car I believe.
i guess the road got improve so much compare to the time ewan long way round was traveling to magadan. nice documentaries by the way..
@EnfinityX good to know what it can handle with thousands in skid plates and upgraded suspention and tires

Yes, if you watch Part 1 again you can hear them say they are AWD.
awesome road adventure, guy!!! CONGRATS!
Are those 4 wheel drive Suzukis?
If only Motortrend would test SUVs like this. Well I now know that a Kizashi is more capable than a Ford Flex =]
@flynmid they said they had height adjustable suspention
Ewan McGregor did this in "The Long Way Round" years ago. I highly recommend watching that if you enjoyed this.
awesome road trip. To drive in Russia would be amazing!
@EnfinityX Suspension and wheels are not stock
great to know what my car can handle =]
They should test the SVT Raptor like this.

I'm just kidding around. Really though, "First" comments just annoy people.
The narrarator is horrible, whiny, and weak. Next time put a car enthusiast not a book nerd in.
